This is a summary of my last 9 months of ongoing sessions with Michael Bells from Egoscue.
I have had chronic back and nerve pain for the last 15 YEARS! I have done so many different type of therapies (Physio, Active Release Technique, Chiropractor, osteopath, cryotherapy and probably many others...) which are all have their own pros and cons. But none of them helped me in my situation consistently improve over the long term.
Once day I was listening to Tony Robbins online and he mentioned that he works with Pete Egoscue on his alignment. So I went on their website and was disappointed to see that out of their 20+ locations they didn't have one where I live, in Toronto Canada. Regardless, I called up, and they actually do consulting over FaceTime. Which is so convenient. As apposed to driving to a Physio clinic or other type of clinic which is always a 20-30 min drive each way. I can break away from whatever I'm doing with no advance lead time, and just begin our sessions on my iPad from anywhere.
So we begun, Michael (who by the way, is such a great person who really cares about his clients) sent me my day one menu customized to my issues. We continued everyday working together, and optimizing my menu, increasing the intensity every single day Monday - Friday for 30 days. We then cut it down to a few times a week, then weekly, now monthly. When we started it seemed like a slow start. But of course I stuck with it, because the concepts made sense, and I was determined to get better. Long story short, if you are committed to it, you will see amazing results, it really works.
Just some of my amazing accomplishments since working with Michael have been:
- Pre Workout program (now able to work out in the gym as much as I want)
- Pre Golf Program (haven't been able to play or practice for years, just shot my first round in the low 80's and working on breaking 80)
- Pre running Program (now running up to 10 miles, and training for my first marathon)
I can only speak from my experiences. If you are the type of person that can commit to a program I would strongly recommend giving Egoscue a try.
