I worked full time for 32 years as a RN. I resigned my position because of joint pain/stiffness and was unable to perform my functions. I was diagnosed with Lupus, had cervical fusion C5-6, a total knee replacement and revision surgery. Even after surgery and many months of physical therapy I was still dealing with pain daily. I took large doses of anti inflammatory meds and narcotics.
My daughter introduced me to Egoscue and specifically to Sarah Nakamoto, Assistant Clinical Director, Del Mar.
Sarah evaluated me and develop a treatment plan of several exercises. I was skeptical but determined and hopeful to feel better.
In just a few short weeks I am honestly totally amazed. I first noted less pain and improved flexibility. Position changes became less difficult. My joint pain/swelling improved. Activities of daily living were easier for me. I could dress easily and move about without extreme pain. I didn t need to give myself a push to go from sitting to standing. My sleep improved as I didn t wake up every time I moved from side to side. I am more aware of my posture and I feel taller...lol!
I now take one forth the ibuprofen dose from what I was originally taking.
I first need to thank Sarah and the Egoscue method. It is truly unbelievable how much better I feel and look.
I will continue to perform my exercises and strive to do all that I can for my health. I would not feel this way if it weren t for my daughter referring me and Sarah s expertise to guide and direct me.
My body is transforming in such a positive way that even I can t believe it!
