Very nice and fancy hotel. Lots of crown molding and carpeted floors. Flowers in vases in the lobby with plenty of bellhops and front desk assistance. Rooms were elegant and very nice. A great hotel with the feeling of the 60s or 70s. Not a modern hotel but very nice.

The hotel itself is fine. What I couldn't believe was the incredibly overpriced room service. 32 dollars for a pizza the size of a single slice and a Coke. I travel a lot for work so I have seen expensive room service but this is just ridiculous. Also, the room service people could be a little friendlier. (Not the delivery guy he was extremely pleasant)

I was so excited to go to my first high tea and I thought what better place than The Drake Hotel. Sadly I was wrong. I made my reservation a month and a half in advance only for them to cancel it the day before with no warning and no reason. Luckily I was able to call and get a same day reservation no problem. The service was extremely slow and the waitress was kind of rude. Then I go check my bank statement 2 days later and see that I was TRIPLE charged!!! at $50 a person that's not a cheap mistake!! Will think twice before returning here.

Stayed back in March 2015. Lovely check in/reception area and that was it. Room was small and bathroom/shower dirty and shower difficult to regulate temperature. Breakfast nice but for $27 it should be! Wifi at $25 was a no go but got free wifi from hotel across the road when standing next to windows! Would not stay here again.

My second time staying, great hotel, just very old school, would think it was a Marriott hotel... Anyway the concierge and assistant were stupendous and helped me book hair and massage appointments!! Thank you for a wonderful stay

Great location near then Gold Coast and the Magnificent Mile. Service is exceptional. Hotel is historic but the rooms are large, especially for a historic hotel. I would describe the Drake as old money nice. It definitely wouldn't be confused for modern and chic but it's decent.

I visited the Drake for a friend's wedding. The interior of the hotel is gorgeous, and its ballrooms are stunning! A perfect venue for a grand wedding. It also has the most adorable gift shop with unique seasonal decorations. Highly recommend this place for locals and for visitors.

Not impressed with the afternoon tea service at the Drake. First, they sat us at a tiny table when there was a ton of empty tables. Second, the portions and size of the scones we're laughable. The scones were the size of half dollars. We weren't asked if we wanted additional sandwiches and we needed them since they were so tiny and we were only offered 4. The tea was quite tasty. We've had proper scones and afternoon tea in DC and London and have always loved it. Fourth, The ladies bathroom was also dirty: carpet as mirrors. Fifth, there is supposed to be a dress code: no jeans, gym shoes etc. People came in under dressed in jeans and hoodies. The Drake has some work to do.

Excellent location, old school charm. In drastic need of new AC units in the rooms. At $300 a night, it's a reasonable expectation to be able to sleep comfortably even with 90 degree heat outside.

This has been by far my worst experience with @HiltonHotels The air conditioner sounds like a dryer on tumble with rocks inside, there are no refrigerators in the room even though there is a space for them, they charge $71 for valet parking without offering a self park option, then you cannot always find a valet attendant to get your car when you need it. The front desk staff is hit or miss whether they are nice or not. Four diamonds my butt. Maybe four tomatoes!

Came for afternoon tea. It was lovely! There was a harpist playing popular tunes and flowers everywhere. You get one teapot each and plenty of fingers foods. You can get more of most except the desserts. You can also ask for more hot water for your teapot. It's a fun reason to dress up on a weekend afternoon.

We had high hopes for The Drake. My boyfriend booked us a room for a quick getaway in the city. The first room they put us in was small, dark and dingy with a view of the fire escape. He paid $30 to upgrade and put us in a second room. Since we both had to work during the trip, we brought our laptops thinking we would be able to do some work in the mornings and evenings. Once we got to the second room we realized the wi-fi was not connecting. We called the manager who moved us into a third room since he said the wi-fi was out in a portion of the hotel. The third room did have a great view however we still did not have wi-if. It's hard to imagine one of the biggest cities in the world at a national chain hotel does not have wi-fi. We ended up having to go to Starbucks to get any work done and wasted lots of precious time. Other negatives: valet parking is $70 a night. SEVENTY A NIGHT! We are from Las Vegas and LA and don't even see that kind of pricing! Here's a few positives: the breakfast and the shower pressure. Other than that- don't waste your time.

An historic building, perfectly located within easy walking distance to all the destinations on our agenda. Excellent staff, from check-in to valet to restaurant service (can't emphasize this enough).

I have been here for the afternoon teas and they are quite a treat. The room is exquisitely decorated and there is someone playing the harp while you are enjoying your tea. The pricing is not too bad, at $45, but haven't been to other teas in the area.

I think the Drake has lost it's zeal. Went again for Afternoon tea. Love how they replenish your plate if you'd like more but hate that some of the seating needs reupholstering in the lobby area. the entire experience was a bit run down from previous visits

The Drake is the real deal. I loved it! Thank you for a wonderful relaxing evening. The ambiance is awesome and there views are spectacular.
Everyone at the hotel was great from a service standpoint as well although the restaurant lounge server was a little brash.

Such a wonderful and historic hotel! We were upgraded to a suite during our stay and it was beautiful. Everything about the hotel is classic and elegant. The breakfast buffet is one thing I would suggest you not take part of unless you have a voucher. It s a standard breakfast buffet, and for two people it will cost $60.

I was surprised at the level of service that the hotel staff has been able to achieve. The trip to Chicago Drake Hotel has made my family experience here absolutely phenomenal. I spoke with the Front Desk Manager Nicola who offered amazing support with a small issue we encountered and responded above and beyond our expectations to ensure our positive experience. If you strive for travel where customer service gives you the comforts of home with the elegance of kingship, then Drake may give you and your families that experience.

During the same visit, I spent a few minutes with Russell Menkes (General Manager Drake Hotel) and was impressed with his vision of customer service and the strides he and his staff are working through to provide a globally enriched experience for travelers both business and touring.

I encourage you to look the Drake as an option when looking at hotels to stay while in Amazing Chicago.

Its an amazing hotel. Not to expensive. Clean rooms, comfy beds, right off the lakefront and on the mag mile. Tons of shops and restaurants. Friendly and happy staff. This is a terrific place to relax and have a date night

What a beautiful hotel! The staff was excellent and the lobby incredible. I loved the large bouquet of lilies that aromated the lobby. The only negative is we had a very slow draining shower. Otherwise five stars

What can you say about a full service luxury hotel that hasn't been said over the last 100 years. The lobby is a step back in time but the amenities do not, if you are attending for high tea, or dinner its definitely an experience to cross off of your bucket list.

Great hotel. Grand and old and has an air of times when service mattered. The King room was huge, the bed comfy, and for the centre of a city not too loud from street noise. Bar staff excellent
