Great food, excellent service would definitely visit again

Always come here after walk friendly and helpful staff

Nice bar with a comfortable outdoor area. I like the idea of Fuller ale and lager flights. There is a hotel connected so the restaurant opens early.

Nice and cosy but drinks are overpriced (in my opinion)

Great place for breakfast. Comfortable seating outside. Only 4 stars because my eggs Benedict was barely warm.

I would say they've adjusted badly to the covid knock back as we ended up waiting for our food for a very long time and half of the food on the menu wasn't available. You'd think they'd double stock what they can in order to satisfy us customers coming in. It was very limited and service was slack having to go and ask the waiting staff to see us and vice versa. I visited this place before lockdown and it was brilliant I think the adjusting hasn't suited this pub in particular...

Rooms a degree above Premier Inn; service excellent; and food too. Modern styling. Only criticism is small range of beers.

Really nice pub , hotel really well layer out with a very nice garden which will a be great place in the summer. We were there as a room was book for a wake . All in all 10/10

Had a really good meal and drinks here for my birthday. The waiter/ manager was really good. Talkative and attentive and just genuinely nice. Will definitely be back soon!

Had a fantastic experience here. The food tasted amazing but what made it so special was the service from the staff especially named Zsolt. He looked after us so well. The atmosphere was lovely.

Loving the new look to the pub, especially the pub garden. So much better then before! Definitely will go back

****Returned today for lunch had the tempura prawns and triple cooked chips plus dessert. Very yummy. Poor service. Steaks overcooked.

Lovely food at great prices. We were a table of 10 and all food came out in a timely manner, hot. Roast dinner is highly recommended. Lost one star because it was absolutely stifling, we could have done with an open window.

Delicious food, helpful and friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Also allowed us to bring the dog into the bar area.

Our second visit and excellent again. They managed covid restrictions very well, clear evidence everywhere of good systems and management of all the cleaning, distancing etc but discretely done so that you could relax and enjoy the stay. We had our dog with us and he was again made very welcome and the hotel could make more of its dog friendliness as it really is dog friendly - all the staff seem to love them and little dog treats at the table! Rooms lovely, very tastefully decorated, spotless and good food with lovely service.

The cod flakes apart perfectly and the sauce was divine however the Elton mess had loads of cream and barely any fruit and meringue. Still would definitely recommend!

Went for an early dinner during twixtmas. Fabulous food, great drinks and super friendly service (Imogen was lovely). We did have a bit of a wait, but it was a slightly odd time so I would imagine we were there between full staff being on for lunch and then dinner. I had gnocchi which was an excellent vegetarian choice. I shall definitely go back for an evening meal.

We had a party of 26 and the service was excellent, everything was perfect. A very warm and vibrant place - we will def go again.

Been to the pub after its been opened and refurbished. Lovely outdoor area and the inside is very nice as well.

Had a great sleep in a comfortable bed. Room excellent and a good size. Plenty of choice for breakfast.

Lovely atmosphere, with very friendly smart dressed staff and really incredible food!

Stayed in premier room as it's only room with a bath. Room was pleasant and quiet.

Restaurant was busy for a mid-week and isn't cheap. Burger was a bit on the small size with few fries considering cost.

Good food nice atmosphere staff very helpful as we had two elderly people who needed softer seating and needed to be nearer the door to make access with walking frame easier.
Only downside the toilets are a bit of a walk from the restaurant for elderly people.

An absolute gem! Gorgeous rooms, fabulous food, very helpful staff, and dog friendly. There is nothing negative to say about the place. Very highly recommended!

We have just stayed here with another couple and 2 dogs.
This hotel was absolutely AMAZING we all thought it was better than 5* hotels.
The manager and his staff couldn't do enough .
The food in the restaurant was all cooked perfectly and served in a professional way. Well done to a great group of chefs and brilliant waiting staff.
Our dogs were treated so well by every member of staff and even got served a doggie sausage at breakfast.
The rooms and bathrooms were decorated beautifully and had lots of lovely extras like slippers..bottle of beer and the most gorgeous homemade shortbread. The rooms were also cleaned to the highest standard so well done to the cleaning team.
We stayed here while walking the Test way and it is perfect location for the night before the last leg.
We are definitely booking to returnhere for a night away we were blown away.

Good lunch ..Price Fixe menu may be limited choice, but the offerings we went for were really well done. Tempura prawn starters and steak frites mains, both very tasty. Followed by two small but tasty deserts.... The crumble is the better More

Lovely food, and the bedrooms are very comfy and modern. Very helpful and friendly staff

Disappointed. Poor service and substandard food. No efforts to ensure social distancing maintained, staff themselves not distancing (this would be protective of customers, too), half-arsed efforts to disinfect tables observed after diners left. None of the staff wearing masks - which was off putting. Obviously no understanding that the virus is airborne/ spread by droplets, and not only by hand contact.

Really nice meal, good food and service, smart dining area.

We arrived at 8pm and didn't get our. Main course until 10pm. Service poor. However food when we got it was good.

Busy Sunday lunch time, took a while for our order to be taken, but the food was excellent and served really quickly. Visit only spoiled by loud bunch of middle aged men who should not have been allowed to wear lycra in a place where people were eating.

After staying I the Premier Inn up the road ,it was nice to get some good food whilst we were in the Cromwell Arms.

Mediocre sandwich, drinks were forgotten. Coffee good,however had to quiz staff on options. Not a 4/5star service.

Did not stay at the cromwell arms but held a mini wake for my mum in these strange times in the garden cant praise the staff enough thank you .

Will share a picture of the food I was served. Defiantly gone downhill from last visit. Such a shame and will not be coming back. Burger dry, salad in burger not much and not fresh. Friends burger bun burnt on top. Served with a handful of deep fryed greasy crispy chip bits. Very slow service waiting over half hour and was not busy.
After complaining they did refund one of the burgers.

First time back here since an extensive re furbishment and I must say what a fantastic job Fullers have done. A warm welcome from all the staff very attentive without being overpowering. Food well presented and flavoursome, five stars all round.

Absolutely dreadful service! Waited nearly an hour and had to keep prompting staff for menus. Would still be waiting now if we hadn't got our own! Food was ok, what you would expect from this type of pub/ restaurant. Very slow in clearing the table and taking coffee/dessert orders. Don't think we will return. A shame because we met our friends there on their recommendation.
