Booked through Ebookers. Didn't get the rooms we wanted. The hotel is in a great location. The room situation spoilt our weekend. Good lively bar in hotel.

Bed and room absolutely incredible. One of the best sleeps I have ever had. (I have insomnia so that's surprising). Luxurious, that's best way to describe my experience. There were attentive staff who were all smiling and happy to help from the front desk staff to the domestic staff and they all provided a friendly atmosphere.
Now for the bad points. The breakfast: just not enough variety; a full English but not much else. And the cleanliness of the room: clean bed, clean towels, clean sheets, basically clean anything you can throw in the washing machine, however the fine details (which is something you expect from such a luxurious hotel) were not paid attention to. Dirty behind curtains and doors, dust everywhere and soap packets behind curtains. I would reccomend this hotel because it really is worth a stay for the amazing beds alone but in the hope that they increase their standards of cleanliness.
I stayed in the king deluxe room for one night.

Rooms were very clean and warm staff were very friendly and polite was my birthday they even let a card to wish me happy birthday definitely would stay again

Breakfast was adequate, could have been hotter. Room was OK needed upgrading

The room was a wee bit old but the staff and the restaurant were exceptional.

Great Location, opposite the central railway station,, currently undergoing a renovation, how rooms and clean and tidy with good bar and restaurant.

Stayed here in the county hotel Newcastle and I felt like a princess.. the staff were Brilliant, we both fully enjoyed our new year eve event and the 5 course dinner was out of the world..
Considering I was in a wheelchair chair the access was good considering the age of the building..I wouldn't change a thing, it's beautiful and the staff that run it should be very proud everything thing went smoothly on the night.. and I got my wish to walk a little and my 1 dance with help from staff.. coming back this year for another one

Had a lovely mid week stay. Food in the resturant was delicious. Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. Cocktails in the Hudson Bar were delicious. Will definately return, location is great too.

We stayed at the County Hotel in Newcastle for the first and definitely last time on Saturday 10th November. We made the mistake of fully pre paying for our stay.
Despite requesting a quiet room when booking two months prior to our stay. Reception confirmed us into a noisy room and when we questioned this they stated no other room was available as the hotel was full. The reception staff were disinterested and dismissive.
The double room was extremely small (stayed in larger single rooms in London) and the bed was also uncomfortably small .
There was no hot water with which to take a shower or bath. The fact the heated towel rail did not work was therefore inconsequential. The maintenance team came and investigated and concluded there was nothing they could do.
All issues were raised with reception on checkout. We were offered complimentary breakfasts. The reception appeared oblivious to the fact we had already paid and had our breakfast. They then stated there was nothing else they could do.

It's alright. Bit dated, bath was tiny but cheap and cheerful. Staff are very friendly.

Second time and will be back , handy for transport, clean comfortable and great breakfast

Not the nicest of hotels in the city, the rooms are very small but it served its purpose!
Its location is probably its saving grace!

Nice looking hotel in a great location. I found the rooms overheated and over-perfumed but well equipped with essentials. Great housekeeping- I came back to a spotless room everyday and they even refreshed the snacks. Great shower too. Breakfast was so-so - typically overdone and the use of tinned fruit was disappointing although fresh was also available.

Great hotel with 5 star staff. Staying here for the night after being stranded by easy jet. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

We only used the place for a conference, but it was very very nice inside. Nice big rooms and very clean....plus a pub next door. Result.

Beautiful hotel from the outside and very chic inside. Staff is very friendly too. The only downside to this hotel is that the floors in the hotel creak. The rooms are otherwise okay with even a fairly large bathroom.

Went for cocktails. Was well organised, greeted and seated upon arrival. Very good value for money, in comfortable surroundings and nice background music

A very pleasant stay. I had a small double room which had all the usual; TV, tea and coffee, Iron and board etc. The large bathroom was, well, large; almost the same size as the room. It had a large bath which I used; hot water ample. You get your usual toiletries thrown in. I ordered room service late at night which wasn't a problem and it was lovely; sandwich and hot soup. I believe it was the night manager who brought up the tray; so helpful. The location is right across from the train station and not that far to the shops. There are plenty of restaurants and bars all around. If I had to find a fault it would be that the hotel is in need of a refurbishment and actually while I was there their restaurant and bar were indeed being modernized. I would definitely stay here again.

Booked bed and breakfast very welcoming, check in was easy, staff are polite and professional. This has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, the hotel is very clean the corridors are well decorated with nice local pictures, the rooms are lovely and clean nice comfortable bed, bathroom is spotlessly clean, good lighting modern TV and a safe in the room. Breakfast was lovely plenty of choice, restaurant was lovely clean and staff friendly and helpful. Checking out was easy everything explained making it a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely be going back and I would highly recommend this hotel for travellers and locals looking for a nice relaxing night.

Building lovely, and check in lady really sweet. However, cleanliness could be improved (what looked like blood on the bathroom curtain), and at 2 a.m. two drunk women in the room next to us came home and couldn't get into their room. Staff took ages to get the master key to let them in, and when we phoned reception to let them know that the women (and their kebab) were still stuck in the corridor, being loud (and smelling of garlic sauce), reception were quite curt and rude, telling us "we know, we're dealing with them".

I have been there for 2 events so far. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the building inside is beautiful! There is also a very handy car park through an arch. I would recommend it.

Lovely hotel it's gone through a great refurbishment. Great food and very good prices.

Great staff and lovely hotel, rooms were large and clean. However the bathrooms could do with remodeling as there were a few cracked tiles and pealing in the bath tub.
