If you have kids this is a must of a day out. There is a massive outdoor play area created onsite which lets them run off lot of energy. If the weather is poor there is an imaginatively created indoor play area. And the best bit of all is the chocolate factory. For a very reasonable fee you or your kids can go and make chocolate bars, bunnies etc. There is a large glass window so you can watch them having fun and of course you take what you make home (or eat it before you leave!)

Really great place to visit. We were on holiday in the area and popped in on a rainy day to keep the kids entertained. We signed them up to the chocolate workshop where they get to make three things (lolly, chocolate bar and mickey mouse bauble) They loved it, the people running the workshop made the experience fun and exciting. Would definitely go again.

Absolutely fantastic. Never been somewhere better. They made it very easy to follow covid guidelines which made us feel very safe

The food was fantastic. All the chocolate was theirs and the fish was cooked to perfection.

Definitely going back sometime soon, if i could rate it more than 5 stars i would.

This establishment has a well equipped soft play. Though it is not huge, it will keep kids entertained for an hour. Kids pay for entry, with the options of just play, or with the addition of a chocolate crafting session. The food on offer More

Great cooking from a couple of great chefs and some tasty pastries too. Always something happening, like their Hallowe'en party and a beautiful big marquee for weddings and parties. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

Grandsons ages 9 & 5 loved everything they did there. Chocolate making and play area were excellent as were staff. Downside was the cafe. Staff were slow and not in any hurry to serve customers. We waited far too long for food to arrive, a hot dog thrown in a roll, a kids microwaved pizza, and two bowls of chicken broth- which was ok but barely lukewarm. None of these required more than a few minutes to prepare - and it wasn't busy.... so 4 stars overall. A great day out.

Very friendly and professional staff. My child enjoyed the workshop very much and is looking forward to eating his products. I'm also looking forward to eating what I bought from the shop!
There was a surprising amount of options for food other than chocolate. The food was of a good quality and fair portion size.
My only criticism is that there were parts of the soft play that couldn't be seen from outside the soft play area.
The only reason we don't visit more often is the remoteness of the Cocoabean Company.

Kids, chocolate and play.

Kids, chocolate and play.

The indoor play area is a first class multi storey, scramble and explore softplay. This play area got very busy (summer holidays and raining) by mid morning but all kids were living it.
Outdoor play area also looked very kid entertaining but not suitable in wet weather.

Some pretty enclaves outside by the river which I guess they use for weddings and I can imagine to be lovely if separated from children's activities.
Highly recommended.
P.S it's next to David Coulthard museum so if your into F1 it's a bonus

We visited the Chocolate Factory yesterday on approach there was no opening times. We were not impressed the first sight you were greeted with was the Cafeteria.
We went to where the chocolate was displayed not enough stock in the shop, my friend asked for Strawberry Creams to be told No we do not have any
We asked if we could have a sample of the chocolate to be told If we did that everyone would want a sample
Not impressed as the previous day we had visited a Chocolate Shop in Castle Douglas upon going in you could smell the chocolate and the lady who served us was delightful and we were offered lots of free samples and left with a substantial amount of chocolate.
We would definitely return to this shop it was such a lovely experience and the chocolate was delicious unlike your chocolate which was like cheap chocolate.
Could do better.

Fantastic day out with the kids. Lots to do. Recently attended a wedding here too, which was absolutely incredible. The staff are friendly, the marquee was stunning and there were some amazing spots with some beautiful areas for photos! The food was fantastic and it was a brilliant day all round. Would definitely recommended the cocoa bean as a venue and as a day out with the family.

Lovely place just of the A75. Great for children and adults. I left without taking my handbag with me and didn't realise until I reached Portpatrick. The lovely staff had found it and put it somewhere safe until I returned to collect it.
Also makes the most delicious chicken and rice soup.....and its gluten free!

Fantastic day out and well worth the money as you can spend from opening to closing their, we have been 2 years running and we will be going again this year!
Food at cafe is good quality and quite cheap, no need for a picnic!
The soft play was great in 2011 when we went it was a beautiful day and we spent all day their inside and out! In 2012 unfortunately it was raining but we still had a ball although the wee one needed changed after being outside for 2hrs!

If you are small you can play in a huge soft play area or in the play fort.

Wee one had a great time making chocolate but the place was over filled, the soft play was quite frankly dangerous, very very hot, the toilets smelled dreadful. Not an experience I'm keen to repeat!!

Fantastic day out for kids. Terrific indoor play area and the outdoor one is fantastic. Even finding the car park nearly full indicating place was busy only had an hour to wait for next chocolate making session. Staff in the chocolate area seemed very friendly and kept kids interested whilst assisting the less able. Staff in cafe also seemed to enjoy doing their job and willing to speak to customers. Would certainly recommend a visit.

Simply NOT a chocolate factory although they do sell chocolate. This is a kids play centre which is fine if that's what you came for. Should make that clear from the signs.

Food is terrible. All 'ding' food. Even the panini is microwaved.

So ok if you have kids, rubbish if you are looking for a chocolate factory!

Excellent for families, adults go free and children can make their own chocolate for a reasonable price. Food selection is good, outdoor area is much better than expected and can keep kids occupied for most of the day.
