And I really do not know what to judge. the standard of the cinema, unfortunately, is not very high, although you can not complain about seats, for example, although they are far from current trends. whereas a very good program And most importantly, from time to time Polish productions are shown here. May these seances with Polish products be as much as possible.

What a horrific little insipid theatre.

What a horrific little insipid theatre.
I understand that it's staffed by volunteers, but for crying out loud the Vancity Theatre is the Ritz Carlton compared to the Pacific Cinematheque.
My favourite thing with this cinema is how they can't even be bothered to put the hours of operation on the front door so you're left guessing what time is the right time to show up to buy tickets.
The most annoying thing about this cinema is how friends of the volunteers get early admission while everyone else receives dirty looks from the cashier if you try to ask what time the doors open.
For the life of me I can't understand how this theatre still stays in business.
Maybe it has a dedicated following of sadomasochists that love being used and abused.

Great place for non-mainstream and foreign cinema. Their program is carefully curated and for 3 dollars a year you can support their great work and buy tickets at a reasonable price. The staff are nice and clearly passionate about their work.

When the theatre is run by volunteers and movie lovers, the place feels so welcoming and warm. Every time I come, the concession area has improved, which adds to the excitement. Its got comfy seats, delicious popcorn with fresh butter, amiable volunteers, and consistently attractive programs. It's a shame this place isn't packed more often.

Great alternative cinema. Great to go to during Covid: lots of distance between used seats, seating reservation, pre-buy at concession online and they delivery to your seat instead of lining up. All that and great non-mainstream and classic films.

As far as I know, this is Vancouver's only indie film theater, and it is a good one. It shows a lot of obscure films that cannot be found anywhere, and it also does a lot of career retrospectives of famous masters. The theatre is very small, but the seats are very comfortable, and it is sloped so the view is not easily obstructed.

This little old cinema is so cute! as soon as you walk in it resembles the old cinemas from the old downtown Vancouver. The building looks old but its very cozy inside. The chairs are updated so it doesnt feel cramped when someone is sitting next to you.

These guys have great service, an AMAZING film selection, and have adapted covid amazingly. They spaced seats from one another and made pathways so you don't have to cross over anyone.

Buy your tickets in advance online, order snacks then too and they'll deliver them to you in the theater.

Where else can you see this kind of variety of movies? If you're looking for something niche, interesting, foreign, or unique, you've found your place.

Great staff and a decent screen setup. Check it out, especially when they're hosting films from the many festivals that grace our city!

nice theatre with lots of space and comfortable seating. Great place for a low key movie and the location is great. Concession has lots of selection and decent price. Located around lots of restaurants and businesses. only downside is parking is very expensive in this area but there is free parking about 5-10mins walk away

Cannot say enough about Pacific Cinematheque. Great place to book for private parties/film screenings. Have been arranging with the management for a number of years. Enjoy working with Linton Murphy and all the volunteers at our events.

Also, simply good choice of films that are played on a regular basis. Recently saw Romeo & Juliet (1968). Check it out.

Saw a movie here for European film festival. Excellent location and clean, new, small theatre. The lobby is somewhat small to wait around with little seating area. Snack bar is pretty good.

Cinematheque is a gem of an arthouse, and what's not to like about a small, intimate cinematic setting? Took out a membership tonight and I hope to find time to see good films there again. The chairs are super comfortable and the treats for sale are significantly above average.

Superb and first class all the way. For the test screening of my first feature film I discovered that one of the key scenes was out of sync and I didn't have time to render out a new feature DCP file. But I did have time to render out the scene. I brought it in an hour before the screening began and Jessica, the projectionist working that day switched from one file to the next seamlessly! Literally saved the day! Cinematheque is my go to theatre for screenings!
