Once again I enjoyed the Grosvenor spa and lunch. What a treat! Jamie is an excellent masseur and gave me a combined facial/massage. The facilities are small but beautifully designed. Never fails to impress.

Amazing stay at this gorgeous city centre hotel. The staff and service was brilliant. Kudos to Richard the Brasserie manager for sorting out our dessert issue so quickly. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion stay.

On the 30th August 2013 my wife and I had the pleasure of celebrating our Diamond Wedding Anniversary,(courtesy of our family), with a 2 night stay at The Chester Grosvenor. From start to finish our stay was made wonderful by the kindness, cheerfulness and attention to detail by all the staff at all levels. Little suprises like the welcome Anniversary Cake in our bedroom to a similar after dinner confection in The Simon Radley Restaurant. The food was superb, accommodation excellent! We would recommend a stay at The Chester Grosvenor. Thanks for a wonderful memory.

I stay here regularly and it really is a fantastic hotel. The staff and service in particular are exceptional and I haven't found this level of service in the UK outside of certain landmark central London venues.

There is no pool and only a small fitness room but for old school service, quality and food this place is great.

It s a Five star hotel that just falls short on a couple of thing which I understand are being addressed with a refurbishment.

So let s start with everything positive.

The arrival process with the door staff is as good as it gets...
The staff are so friendly
The restaurant Simon Radley is at the top of its game. Food and service. (Don t eat a large lunch because the bread is too hard to refuse)!!
The rooms are quiet and the bed with linens comfortable.

What s not so good.....

It s brasserie is tourist trap for the lunch/ tea crowd.
The rooms need updating and I think they are in the process.

Expensive, posh and swanky, just like you want it to be. La Brasserie is very nice post-refit, we enjoyed a very nice meal and the champagne bar is worth some of your time if you've done well at the Races.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff really go out of their way to help you. A lovely touch was when one of the front of house caught upto us on our way out and mentioned it had been raining and brought us an umbrella. Great stay and great service. Well recommended.

This is a pretty posh place for Chester, very nice decor and all that. We had afternoon tea and the service was very good. The sandwiches for the vegan option were a bit basic but apparently they're looking to change that soon and they did make a big effort on everything else so appreciate them doing an menu. You get refills on the sandwiches and tea / coffee... Cakes and scones were very nice. It was mainly older people there so doesn't seem so hip for the youth in Chester, but perhaps people are put off by the price.

Went with my girlfriend for an afternoon tea, thermal spa and a massage. It was great, I will definitely go again. Only thing I would change is the thermal spa, it wasn't great, just a sauna, steam room and aroma room really. No cold tubs or hot tubs which was disappointing

Had a spa day package. The spa was great, really friendly staff. The restaurant I felt that some staff made an assumption about us and tested us as if we could not afford to be there. This was disappointing but I did it let it impact on my day. Treat everyone how you would want to be treated with dignity and respect.

Delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere. A small menu with a good variety of choice, great coffee and lots of lovely cocktails available. I much prefer the casual lunch menu to the evening menu (put that's down to personal choice) The toilets are absolutely gorgeous.

The Grosvenor is the smartest place in Chester. I think it is the only place where the door-men wear top-hat and tails. Impeccable service. Very high quality food and drink. Great for special occasions.

My partner booked a room here for my birthday, we ate in the Simon Radley restaurant and I also had a treatment in the spa. Everything about this hotel is amazing, they really do have it right. The spa is one of the nicest I have been to and I've been to some lovely spas all over the world. We had Simon Radley's taster menu. All the staff were excellent and very attentive and we even got to meet the lovely Simon Radley himself. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. It's a perfect city centre location with a superior elegant atmosphere and I can't recommend this place enough.

Only reason I haven't given 5* is we didn't stay over so couldn't give a review on that part. We had cocktails on the first visit and champagne on the second visit. If you're wanting prosecco its not available at this hotel; they have an affinity with tattinger which isn't too shabby. Very nice way to spend a while in beautiful surroundings with live music. Staff were respectfully attentive and chatty , remembering that we had visited previously that day. Will visit again.

Ideally placed in middle of Chester, you can enter it from the public car park, which is good if you are driving. The food in Simon Radley restaurant was out of this world, but so was the price. Breakfast was good. Room clean bed comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Not my first stay in this hotel, but it will certainly be my last.
I booked a two night stay for my partners birthday.
I asked for a dozen red roses to be in the room for arrival. They didn t do this!
My partner has a severe allergy to feathers, so we called down to reception to ask them to replace all items with feathers in them. Upon our return to the room we noticed the pillows had been changed and stupidly took it for granted that they had removed everything else.
That night my partner had no sleep and was struggling to breathe because the staff had not replaced the duvet!
My partner could have ended up in hospital.
This completely ruined what should have been an amazing birthday weekend.

Absolute disgrace!!
