Simple choice, but can never go wrong. Great pizza...
Simple choice, but can never go wrong. Great pizza. Just few places to sit.

Amazing pizza. Quick pro tip; take the pizza home and grill it in its own oil. It ll caramelize the crust and the toppings. And then devour with salsa.
Cheeseboard is a Berkeley institution. Each day people line up down the street to try their one (always vegetarian) pizza of the day sold by piece, half, or slice. They use local in-season ingredients, quality cheese, and you get a free sliver with your slice of pizza. Best of all, it's absolutely delicious!
Went for a nostalgia trip like all good alumni. Still coop, still fresh, still delicious with the best green sauce.
I didn't like the pizza much as no tomato sauce but your mileage may vary, staff were lovely.
Great place for good jazz music and fun atmosphere.
Best pizza in town. Great open indoor/outdoor seating. Live music everyday.
Great concept! Cheese and pizza are delicious. Friendly staff and evercrowded place.
U always get to choose the best Veg Pizza
P.S: They only one option per day
They always serve fresh pizza with quality ingredients. Credit cards are accepted but no AMEX.
They use such fresh ingredients and high quality cheese! It's worth the time in line; no worries it goes fast. Their spicy sauce is good on its own too, and can be purchased as a take-home. My favorite part is the extra wedge strip they give you.
When is this place not delicious? It's extra scrumptious on corn pizza day!
The Cheeseboard Pizza is a pizza with no meat, fresh vegetables, and lots of cheese.
It produces a light taste.
Pizza menu is changed every day. People with allergies are particularly good for you, visit the Web site after checking the menu.
I don't worry if I have a long line to the road when I visit here.
As I listen to the joyful music and move a little bit, I can take a turn and get a pizza right after ordering.
There aren't many tables, but if you wait a little you can sit right there and enjoy the pizza with the music.
I think there's a lot of pizza oil in here
You have to wash your hands with a tissue.
Pizza that's tasty and worth the drive and the wait in long line for almost 45 - 50 mins. Doesn't disappoint.
Always my favorite place to get pizza. Hands down the best pizza I've ever had. My favorite are anything with mushrooms or corn. You can check their website to see which pizzas they are serving for the day. Lines can get long but they go fast. They also always have live music from local artists and they never disappoint. Highly recommend.
Very good. Coffee and pastries for that morning menu, delicious.
Pizza had a hard, dry crust and all I could taste was hot oil and corn.
A different place for its band, which animates the atmosphere. The food is not bad but not particularly good
The pizza here is fantastic, and the culture of the place is wonderful. Be warned: there may be a line, and there isn't much seating.
The pizza is delicious, always vegetarian and they have a different kind every day. They do not offer a selection of different flavors, however. They always have a live band playing. Wonderful pizza, but there is typically a line out the door. Get there when it is not too busy, weekday nights are pretty good but weekends are just too long to wait.
Great place for pizza! They only make one variety of pizza each day which is always vegetarian and it's delicious. We arrived there shortly before it was opening for the evening time which was perfect and the line was pretty short. By the time we left, the line was wrapping around the block. They have a green sauce that is quite spicy but goes well with the pizza.
This place does what it does well. The pizza is Berkeley-weird and perfect*. Their live music is usually quite good, and despite the line going down the block, service is pretty quick. (*I just want meat on my pizza. Why is that so hard? Cheese isn't always the most ethically produced food; just go the next step up. Meat makes meals.)
Definitely buy an extra tub of green sauce. Key is to go on the weekdays to ensure seating and avoid crowsa
I don't think you can ever go wrong with Cheeseboard. Hands down my favorite pizza of the east bay. The corn pizza is a must have when it's on the menu.
Great pizza. Vegan and gluten free options. Only one version each day, but amazing ingredients. Is usually very busy, but the line moves extremely quickly. Live music in the evening.
Love the pizza..and the spicy green chutney..great atmosphere..music..
Just discovered they have been offering vegan and gluten free option. Tried it, . SO. GOOD. and I'm not vegan.
Absolutely amazing vegetarian pizza. I would say it is hands down the best but sadly it seems to get more and more greasy the last couple times we've gone. Hopefully it goes back to how it was though it is still extremely good and regardless of how long the line it always goes fast.
Cool pizza for USA but not the best in the world. Cool idea and life music but waiting time is incredeble.
Consistently flavorful pizza. Thin crust, not cheesy and full of flavor. Simple yummy on the palette.
What I loved
- The taste is epic
- It's really fresh.
- The price is right.
What I not loved
- One type Pizza per day doesn't work out for picky eaters
- The line. Oh, the line!
Lively, vibrant atmosphere and phenomenal pizza. In my top 5 favorite pizzerias now thanks to high quality ingredients and fast service.
Some of the best vegetarian pizzas in the bay area.
The pizza was delicious the breads are the best. The cheese I got For the 1st time was so creamy so delicious the people there was very friendly and very knowledgeable of what they were selling
Nothing more needs to be said, but the line is always long and it goes quick. Try some of their cookies!
Food is definitely above the average.. However working schedule is bad. Always closed, always! The tables are muddy and not because a lot of visitor because nobody clean them after hours. The owners should think by going to vacation with some schedule and not all together.
Always fabulous pizza and always a fast moving line. A must-eat when in Berkeley! Live jazz music nightly.
Amazing vegetarian pizza! Fresh and local ingredients. There are gluten free options. There is always a line, but it goes quickly and is WORTH THE WAIT!
We were in the area for a hike and I practically forced my friends to come here to eat because I've been wanting to eat here for a while. We were standing in the long line and they were debating whether they should get something else to eat because we were all hungry and I convinced them that the line will go quick because they only make one thing - one pizza.
Of course the place was packed and there was no seating so we went to the grassy center divide in the middle of the street and had a "picnic." The wait was so worth it. The pizza of the day had arugula, snap peas, asparagus, lemon vinagrette. For some reason, I love arugula on my pizza and all the other ingredients totally worked with the pizza. Whatever the cheese is was amazing. I love how the crust is thing so it's not too carb-y and that you can taste the cheese. I love the lemon too. Goes good with the greens.
Overall, I'm a huge fan. I love pizza. And now I love cheeseboard. I will definitely be back if I'm in the area.
This is the best pizza place you will find. But know that it's only one kind per day and always vegetarian. It's always delicious (though the mushroom pizzas, corn pizzas, and the seasonal butternut squash pizzas are personal favorites). They usually have love music!
Also: cooperatively worker owned and local - another great reason to support!
Simply the best pizza in the East Bay, if not North America.
The pizza was a bit too greasy and salty, and salad portion was small.
Best pizza, best cheese shop and best bakery. It's truly a tripple threat. Pizzas are always vegetarian and they make one option but changes daily. The cheese selections are extensive from domestic to import including local. The baked goods are very balance of sweet and buttery. Never worng with the !ormimg buns and scones.
For bread and cheese lovers, the daily vegetarian pizza is sure to please.
Best tasty pizza and without meat different all the time yet still good and you have to try the green sauce
The vegan pizza was amazing! The line was very long, which shocked me at first, but we moved through it in about 10 minutes
Tasty pizza for th family, Even though it's thin crust pizza, the cheese makes up in volume. This is good as you don't get that many empty carbs. Salad tasted good too. There was a long line but it took us only 10 min to complete the order. Staff is very friendly.
Delicious! The pizza is one kind every day so make sure you like all the ingredients. Sometimes the line is big but it takes only a few minutes to get your pizza.
Crowded, but it's worth it. And don't be scared by the size of the line. Usually it doesn't take very long.
Can't really go wrong here is you're a cheese lover and a pizza lover. Only draw back is when the weather is cold the dough gets hard and chewy if you don't eat it immediately.
Really good pizza that changes daily near UC Berkeley. You can check what it is online. The pizza is not your traditional thin or deep dish; I would describe it as a pan pizza? I love that it's always a vegetarian pizza and they have delicious green sauce made of Serrano chiles, cilantro, etc. for $3.50 a tub. It's also own and operated by the employees! The atmosphere is casual and fun because of the live music they have.
Really good pizzas. They offer a different pizza each day, go online to find the offering. They sell out later in the day.
Excellent baked goods, and of course, Cheeses.
The food is amazing. They only serve one type of pizza and one type of salad that day. But trust them, their combinations are delicious. I had it 3 days in a row last week and didnt feel guilty. So delicious!
What a place! Amazing pizza and live jazz music. Don't think twice. Don't be discouraged by the long line (it is a good sign).
Amazing jazz. The line was super long but went really fast. Love that there are no choices you get with you get! The pizza was beyond delicious!
Great pizza, but be sure to check their hours - they might be closed right when you need a pie. Also be prepared for a 20 minute wait.
Yummy freshness! The lines can be long but they move. I enjoyed their cheese bread and chocolate bread. When the breads are heated, they taste even better. Would love to come back to try more things!
Great selection of cheeses, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
One type of pizza, one type of salad, per day. Excellent. Live music on weekends. Very crowded, but worth the wait.
My favorite pizza in California. I moved to LA from NY back in 2009. My wife was living and working in the Bay Area. My sister in NY told us to checkout cheeseboard pizza so we did and we have it all the time we're in the Bay Area. Love the shop, staff, vibe and music, and of course the pizza! Great job and continued success
The pizza here is amazing! I highly recommend it. They only serve vegetarian pizza. And only one type of pizza per day. The menu changes daily. Today's pizza of the day was artichoke heart, baby spinach, mozzerella and berkeley-made Belfiore fresh ricotta, chive; garnished with garlic olive oil, parsley and organic lemon zest. Whole pizza is $22 + tax. Half of a pizza is $11 + tax. Make sure to get the sauce that is on the side. I also got the salted caramel ice cream which is made of buffalo milk. The line is extremely long but the wait is worth it. There are usually no open seats and tables because of it's popularity. There is only street parking. They have live music. The vibes are just great here.
The place is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Very loud inside when there is love music. Staff is super nice!
Long queues, but the pizza is worth it. Vegan & gluten free options available.
Amazing pizza! Had no idea pizza could be so delicious without meat. Seriously, just the crust by itself with that green dipping sauce would bring me back. SO glad I had the good fortune to be able to enjoy lunch here.
Yes, the pizza really is that good. And the soft serve is delicious too, and the green sauce I could eat as the only condiment or sauce ever needed ever again
Delicious! Definitively in my top ten favorite pizzas, and the green "papi chulo" sauce it's worth buying. I also loved the great jazz band that was playing!
a cheese education in each visit. Really is there anything better than cheese?
