Come for the ever charming sidewalk scene of live jazz and a small mob of every stripe and sort of Berkeley native enjoying a slice outside, stay for the always vegetarian, always tasty pies, and the overwhelmingly expansive cheese selection! The staff know more than you could ever hope too and are happy to help (and just as importantly sample!) find what you need, and the baked goods are killer. Try the double chocolate cookies!

Pretty mediocre pizza, not bad, but definitely not as great as many other reviews claim. Come to try it out due to the great review, but left with the impression that it only become popular because of the irrational gluten-free mania. Its also kind of funny that the name is Cheese Board while its not real cheese on top of the pizza.

Also its more expensive than regular pizzas, considering they should has lower cost by only making one kind of pizza every day and only uses veggies, its hard to like this place.

Cheeseboard is a Berkeley staple. Expect a line out the door pretty much anytime it s open. The lines move fast however as they only serve one type of pizza a day, limiting options to sizes (single slices for $2.75+tax, half a pizza for $11+ tax or a whole pie for $22+ tax). Heads up to the meat eaters they are strictly vegetarian.

The pizza is good quality and the prices are reasonable. I ve been a few times over the years and while it s good pizza and a good price, i ve never been wowed by the taste.

Good, respectable pizza but i ve always thought it was a bit over-ratted.

Some days they ll have live music in the joint which provides a really nice atmosphere.

(I love cheese.) + (I love pizza.) = (I love Cheeseboard pizza.)

Cheeseboard offers only one vegetarian pizza option each day, but the pizza is great! They use cheeses from the bakery and cheese store next door, with quality ingredients to make some really delicious, incentive pizzas. My favorite is the golden Yukon potato pizza, which sounds disgusting, but was sooo good! They have seating, though obviously not enough for it's popularity. On weekends, there are live jazz bands too.

Great pizza, worth the line wait but it goes by quickly as you listen to live music and get to chat with neighbors. They have Fenton's English sodas which I adore and are hard to find. There's always a new flavor of pizza and I'm making myself hungry writing this so I'd better get over there. Worker owned and operated, you're getting gourmet pizza and supporting your local community. I've also seen them give to people who can't afford to eat. Wonderful place

Excellent daily pizzas (always vegetarian!) with gluten free and vegan options available. Wednesdays have live music during lunch! They do tend to sell out, so go early and get a half-bake to take home.

Cheeseboard Pizza Collective seriously has the best crust in the East Bay! Never mind that the ingredients are local and fresh, the attention to detail is amazing. You walk into the line, which moves amazingly fast, at Cheeseboard Pizza and quickly find that there is only ONE pizza made everyday. Vegetarian and delicious!!! My Husband, a dedicated pepperoni lover, even sings the praises of Cheeseboard Pizza! Kid friendly, we have been bringing our 10 year old daughter here since she was 3, and when we show up, usually on Friday nights, she feels right at home. Great music...yes! a live band to entertain you, wine by the glass, beer and one salad plus the amazing pizza in the offering, and you will quickly find that Cheeseboard Pizza is a great place to eat, relax, connect with the community, have a drink, let your kid run around and listen to great music.

Amazing pizzas! They always give you a couple of extra small slices on top of what you order which is really nice. If you order the gluten-free pizza, you ll have to order the whole pie. It s almost just as good as the regular pizza!

They have the BEST GLUTEN FREE PIZZA. They are large, oily & delicious. 18inch.
Super fun atmosphere, long line all day long but it goes quickly.
Tip for ordering gluten free (as suggested by cashier) go to the front and let them know you'll be getting a gluten free and then go wait in line. That way it will be ready when it's your turn. (Though we only had to wait 10 min anyway.)

We loved the pizza we got at Cheeseboard. It was so fresh and tasty. There was even a live reggae band playing and we got to watch them as we ate. I definitely would recommend this to anyone in Berkeley.

The hype is real! Delicious pizza on sourdough crust(it makes a difference) with topping rotating daily. Also the line does look long but service was fast and they kept the line moving pretty smoothly.

Great spot in downtown Berekley for tasty, tasteful pizzas, friendly staff and good music. Only one kind of pizza is available early, so cross your fingers if you're picky. We try to catch Big B and the Snake Oil Saviors every time we are in town. Get there early, as popularity often creates a looooooong line.

Don't really go to this local staple that often because I'm picky with toppings and they only have 1 special topping for the day. If it has corn and potato on it, I go nuts. I love the green chile sauce. I can't have pizza without sauce so I drown it in that.

Best pizza in the Bay area. One pizza per day. Always vegetarian. Local cheeses, artisan cheeses and local produce. Great crust like French bread or a sourdough loaf. Always a long line, but a friendly line with food well worth the wait. Live music. Remember the green sauce!

Great pizza unless the day you show up is something you do not like. Most of the time there is a long line, but they move it quickly. I have been going here for years and most of the time it is a 5-star pizza. However sometimes the quality is off, the last few visits have been great. There was a time when we were given an under-cooked pizza or it was far too oily.

My friend was telling me about this place from
Long time ago and we got to go there yesterday and the place was nice! I would say you should not miss on this type of specialty pizza secretly located in towns and not available to all like dominozz or papa johns...

Even during the pandemic, there was this huge line across the block which showed me how much people are interested in their pizza and when i got my Friday Pizza, (yeah it looks like you get certain type of pizza based on what day it is.), wow it was perfectly thin, a little lemon tang, which i never had it with pizza before... their green sauce felt like some indian chutney which complimented the taste of pizza!

We did felt it was worth riding 1hour just for that pizza

Maybe I'm a weirdo and didn't like Cheese Board but I don't know why, I wasn't a huge fan. I love the concept of one pizza variety a day but maybe the one we had wasn't good? We got the Margherita pizza and it was eh. I've had better pizza in South Bay. The drinks, however, were very good! I got the mango orange soda and it was so good. My friend go the rose lemonade and that was really good too. Love the live music and we got seats pretty easily (we came a bit early). Maybe I'll come back on a different day and try it again before I completely condemn it..

Visited on a Saturday night! Don t let the long lines scare you they move quickly, and the pizza is worth it. Make sure to get yourself their famous green sauce to enjoy with your pizza, and be careful not to the hot pizza too quickly!

Cheeseboard is amazing. The line may seem long but you'll clear it in 15 minutes or less. The pizza is always veggie and even though I felt weird about it at first it is so good that now I think putting meat on the pizza would feel wrong

Love the simplicity. They have a daily fixed pizza flavor, always vegetarian, with or gluten free, and you just indicate a whole pizza or by the slice. Great crust, fantastic flavor, line out the door.
