Sleepy staff .Least bothered about guests comfort level Pompous attitude.Cook made nice dosas.

Will not recommend this hotel in present situation. Lack of maintenance, furniture and interior is old. But if management renovats it then it can be very good and comfortable place.

Situated at Good place. Well metro bus and ola cab connectivity. Easy to go airport within 5min.
Hotel staff very good. Food quality very nice.
Room service 3/5
Cleanliness little issue.2/5 But thats not much matter compare to connectivity.

One of the worst places I've ever stayed in chennai...

1. Its a mosquito breeding centre
2. Unclean toilets
3. Whole night Ac wasn't working and the hotel management ignored our request.
Better avoid this place

Checkers is an old hotel in Chennai which has bar pub and restaurants enclosed . It's in the center of the city and not so crowded place

We had organised our corporate event at the hotel. Although, it was organised well there were less coordination from the company employees. The quality of food could have been better. Our guests and I were disappointed by the quality of food. Otherwise, the location, the architecture of the hotel where all very impressive. I would rate them a solid 3.5

Quite affordable, but has a limited range of foods in the buffet system..
Ambience is not upto the mark.

We celebrated my kid's Birthday Party in The Checkers Hotel, Guindy Chennai. Party Hall , food and everything were perfectly arranged by the staff and on time. I would like to appreciate the staffs who coordinated the party with us - would like to mention here , Mr Karthik - who did a great job in getting things what we discussed , much appreciated Also I would like to thank Mr Kalyan, Mr Kumar who also coordinated effectively. Such a nice team who will make your job easier, thank you All!

Good old hotel. If they renovate this, they can easily beat any new hotel. Such a big classic place is this

Very poor housekeeping. Low light in room. Dirty water supply in washroom.

Somehow, you get a poor maintanence feeling, when you enter the property and go towards elevator area.
The sofas in the reception pose a weary look

Dusty hotel, has bad smell beyond lobby. Company booked for 2 night, late around 1 am, so was stuck for night, checked out next day morning, best decision ever

had a terrible experience with this hotel . beds and linens were dirty and bathrooms were literally ugly

The proximity to centre area and the Heritage look make it worth trying. Charges are bit high but Overall a good experience.

Was a bar and should be a bar, not good for lodging. Bed bugs can keep you awake.

I went to the buffet restaurant. Staffs are kind and attend your needs with care and quick serve. Nice ambience. Cost is medium rate.

The worst ever. They are far from the word clean.

I regret every second I stayed there (which around 4 hours, even though I booked for 3 days, I left in 4 hours as I don't want my little one get sick).

Water quality, air quality everything is worst and the worst plan to even thinking about staying here.

Really an average experience!

Being at heart of the city, I had huge expectations. But sadly they didn t meet my expectations.
I ve been there for my relative s function.

Food quality is very average (tasted only veg options).
Party hall is decent enough for 120+ gathering.
Rooms are good.
Parking place is pretty bad, no valet parking! You have to walk back some distance after parking your car.

To conclude - Lot more to improve.

I checked in at 4am, Reception was very dark, I thought maybe they have turned off the lights due to night time, turns out the whole hotel is dark, very low light in the room, the corridors stink of dampness full in the old dusty carpets.

Washroom are sick dirty, shower not working, and green colour water coming from taps.

AC was set to too cold and panel was broken, and they barely gave a bed sheet in the name of a blanket which i have no hopes was cleaned

Breakfast was ok.

Donot recommend staying here.
