A wonderful, educational experience for every age!...

A wonderful, educational experience for every age! Everytime we visit we see something new and learn something new! We really enjoy seeing the wonderfully laid out natural exhibits, all of the beautiful butterfly species, the hands-on exhibits and storytime and low sensory time! Thank you for a great educational experience everytime!!!

This was such an interesting place! One of the only invertebrate zoos in the world. There was even a place where guests could hold a tarantula (with guidance from a staff member). Of course my favorite part was the tropical greenhouse type space where all the butterflies and moths are. There were so many types to see, and purchasing a butterfly guide for $1 on entry is worthwhile to help identify them. It is possible to get good photos (even with a decent phone camera) when the butterflies stop on a flower, just be sure not to touch them as it can shorten their lifespan. If possible, attend a butterfly encounter (happening at 12:30 and 3:30 when I was there). A very knowledgeable employee taught the crowd (which included lots of young children) about how butterflies and the rainforest are critical to our planet, introduced us to several types of butterflies before releasing them, and encouraged us to do our part to support conservation efforts. All around a good time, and worth stopping by if you're in the area.

Really enjoyed the Butterfly Garden and the outdoor walking path. Indoors contained tons of educational opportunities for kids, including touch areas of a tarantula and a crab (that s really the spider family), as well as ant farms, bee hives, etc.

We have always been welcomed with warm smiles and a helping attitude. The facility is well maintained. The animals are fascinating and the info about them is well presented and accessible. We love wandering in the beautiful gardens, as well. This is a gem!

We went to this place for the first time just recently, my wife and I, mostly because she wanted to face her arachnophobia and hold a tarantula. Being surrounded by children isn't very pleasant for us, but I suppose it comes with the territory. Their gift shop was fantastic. We bought a plush octopus even though we really, really don't need one just because the gift shop was so nice.

Such a cool place! Butterflies fly all around you and they can land on you! They also have a butterfly hatching section which is fascinating; you can see pupae slowly hatching live since there are so many at such different stages. There s also a cool fish section where you can touch horseshoe crabs and starfish! And a kids play area, of course, to get their energy out!

Loved the butterflys and being able to hold a tarantula. The ant colony entertained me for about a half and hour, lol. Entry was a little pricey for a large family. If they added a few more interactive exhibits and lowered the price a bit I would give it a higher rating. Almost completely wheel chair accessible.

While this place is quite lovely, I was disappointed that their hours posted are not their hours honored. I sent some friends from out of town to this place not too far from closing time. They just wanted to kill a little time before I got home (I live very close by), and they were turned away 15 minutes before close. They even explained to the guest services folks that they just wanted to wander through for a few minutes until close, but were still turned away. If you're not going to let people in 15 minutes before close, change your closing times to reflect as such. And maybe put something on your website so that it's more clear that you AREN'T open until 5.

Otherwise, I find this place to be a lovely escape and I've done yoga a few times and very much enjoyed it.

Great to explore insects, sea life, and of course- the wings of the tropics (butterflies). I hate that my kids always fly through the exhibits and we spend at most 1.5 hours there. Daily attractions, such as the 12:30 butterfly release are educational and fun to watch.

Amazing as always. Timed entry required but the place was very light on visitors (we went on Sunday at 3 pm). No touching Rosie the tarantula :( but understandable with COVID protocols. Can touch hissing cockroaches. Saw the largest moth in the world this time - Hercules adult moths do not have usable mouths and do not feed. they only live around 2-8 days, which is long enough for mating and egg-laying to take place. They can spend up to two years in the cocoon!!!
Playground was closed - sad, but again understandable.
Could touch sea stars. Also noticed few new tanks/acquariums with corals. Gift shop is open.
It took us 45 min to get through, they give up to 80 min.
I recommended you check out the paths behind the pavilion - there is pond with fish and various plants/flowers.

This place is awesome. I'm a Florida native and I know invertebrates but man oh man the staff there is absolutely nothing short of astonishing with their knowledge and happy to share. I got lots of photos and if you want to see lots of butterflies flying around I reccomend going towards closing time. They all fly around at high speed to find the best sleeping spots! Just watch your step and be gentle if they land on you!

This facility violated its own COVID health and safety policy of requiring those ages 3+ to wear masks. The employees allowed many children who were clearly over 3 years old to wear a mask indoors while not social distancing. This mask policy was clearly stated on the website and is the current policy as of today, as confirmed by 3 employees including the CFO. The employees failed to require these kids to wear a mask and failed to remove them from the facility.

Pleasant way to spend 2-3 hours with kids 3-8. Main attraction is obvious. Older folks will enjoy resting on the benches in the very humid and warm, glassed-in arboretum. Less obvious attractions: Rosie the tarantula (you can let her walk on your hand) and small aquarium displays. Snack options are dogs, burgers, chips, soda... overpriced and outside only. Price is a bit high, and it's a serious drive from southern metro area.

Had a wonderful time with my family, who were visiting from Peru. They don't speak any English but yet they had they level of intrigue, curiosity, and excitment as i had. They price of admission is better then most and they offer military discount. Highly recommended. Oh and make sure you hold Rosie.

I took my 4 year old son to the Butterfly Pavilion the other day for the first time. Amazing learning opportunities not only from auditory and visual, but also experiencial. My son held Rosie the tarantula and overcame his fear. There are insects, sea life, worms, spiders, bees, and of course butterflies. The outdoor gardens are awesome with butterflies all around you in a tropical setting. There are even stations you can touch starfish, crabs, and mealworms. Plan to stay for at least 3 hours. As an adult, I could have stayed all day and not digested all the info. Nice gift shop as well. Must be for locals and tourists alike.

A great decor. We were with our 5 year old daughter here.
In the tropical house there are many different kinds of butterflies and also their doll's stages to admire. In the anterooms were figures for climbing, picture walls for small children and explanations for adults, in addition terraria with various scorpions. Under guidance you could run a tarantula over his hand.
