I have been here about 6 times. I know my wife has been here SEVERAL times. Great place. Lots of information. When I was young, I was a very serious amateur entomologist. I think it would be cool to formulate a cool "game" where the kids could organize pictures of the different types of insects into their corresponding "orders".
The play place was great, the man with the cool mustache was fun and informative but the girl that took my money for admission was super duper rude. My advice is if you aren't a people person don't work with the public. I probably will never go back after that experience.
Nice facility. Good place for children and families to visit. Especially nice to visit in late Spring and Summer when the butterflies are most active.
Friendly, informative staff. Everyone is great with the kiddos.
Lovely place I got my membership to visit every time I m in town
The grandkids loved it & showed such excitement it was great
There we're bugs and butterfly's everywhere!!!! You could even hold a tralanchala! And pet a cochoroch but I didn't hold the tralanchala because I have aphobia but after all it was funnnn!!!
Really cool place. Not sure big but they use their space well.
Expensive considering you are only there for 30 mins or so and done with everything. Seeing the butterflies and then release then is cool but I wish they was more to see.
Great time with Tristan and Gracie, and my Natalia.
Such an amazing place, fun for all. So many things to see here, and many different rooms. I recommend this to kids of all ages.
Wonderful learning experience for kids. Great environment.
First time there. Went with my 3 year old nieces. They got to see butterfly released. And was shown butterfly eggs by a really nice lady who worked there.
What a fun place to visit. There is nothing more relaxing than wondering around the pavillion and seeing the invertebrates fly all around. Made me feel like a kid again.
Great place to take kids, family, a date, or wander by yourself.
Fantastic place to bring your child to learn about butterfly and other insects!
Brought my 2 year old daughter there. Spiders scared here but loved it overall
Our second visit here and we LOVE it! I feel like there were less butterflies this time (in the Winter) than there were when we last visited (in the Summer) but it's always awesome!
Wonderful place to bring your kids. Different places to visit. Al very nice.
My granddaughter and I had such a wonderful time exploring and seeing all the beautiful flowers and butterflies!
Great place to take my daughter that was fun and affordable. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
This place is filled with a bunch of cool bugs, some area creatures and beautiful butterflies. Know for there famous Rosie tarantula that kids and adults get a chance to hold if desired. The butterfly atrium is a fun area where butterflies and moths fly all around and if you're lucky and wearing something bright one might land on you. There is even a small area for children to run around in and an area where they will sometimes have story time. This is a great place to spend an hour or two at. It has received criticism for being so small but they are in the works of building a larger place at a different location.
The people were very informative. And awesome displays
Long lines for less than a second of time with this "Rosie" the spider. I'm not completely sure which spider was " Rosie" considering they had two men with spiders walking them across people's palms. The exhibits were all that weak. The fish touching exhibit was two aquariums the size you'd see at your dentist office put together. They constantly advertised their gift shop over the intercom. Perhaps it is because I went as a chaperone for my daughter's third grade class and the place was beyond fire code full of children, but I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Fun place to bring kids or just to go on a date! Beautiful butterfly sun room. Would definetly go back
Great weekend activity! Easy to bring a little one along, even in a stroller. Paths to walk outside in the garden, butterflies, sea animals, bugs and spiders and bees!
Educational and fun but needs more attractions to be worthwhile to visit more frequently.
always a fun trip with the kids! interactive and engaging it's just what the doctor ordered for spring break.
Amazing place for families, children, dates and photography enthusiasts.
Butterflies, insects and mini aquarium. Pet starfish and horseshoe crabs.
Beautiful butterflies and fun sea creatures welcome you to this family friendly place. Stop by the gift shop for some treasures on your way out.
This place is so great. We allegedly visit here so the nephews can enjoy it, but I honestly love it too. The exhibits are amazing and of course I love Rosie the tarantula!!! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable if you have questions about the critters. Very easy to park at. Definitely a must-visit!!!!
It was an amaziing place to take my 2 daughters. They absolutely loved it and the staff was just amazing
A very great educational family friendly place to visit.
Visited the Butterfly Pavilion with confidence because masks were required and hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the exhibits. Also, the limited capacity made it easier to see all of the critters and prevented any crowds around top attractions like the the touch and see jellyfish tank. Time limits were long enough to enjoy everything without feeling rushed. Play close attention to your ticket time, you have to arrive within 15min for your ticket reservations to be honored. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly at all of the exhibits. Staff members at the butterfly pavilion happily pointed out exotic butterflies from all over the world. All of the spider, fish and bees are displayed well enough for little ones to take a good look! We also enjoyed the beautifully maintained walking trails and gazebos after our visit. Shades picnic tables are available however, the Beestro is currently closed due to covid precautions. We brought our own lunch and enjoyed between the pavilion and trails. We will be back and recommend a visit while the weather is nice enough to enjoy the trails and fall colors!
what an outstanding venue to bring a little one. My two-year-old was on static blow out of excitement to the entire time. I saw a few things got me pretty excited too. a lot of press had people thinking that this place was closing in the next two years, and it was quiet, for a rainy October Tuesday afternoon. turn from the front desk there will be at least 3 years before can you slow down at this facility. I really enjoyed the outdoor trails, the giant sea sailbug, and the bees! I hope more mollusks are introduced into the exhibits. Kind of a fair amount of showboating teen getting large crowds for feedings camera did actually reduce the value of getting the kids up close
Small, but a lot of fun. Theychatch butterflies every day, and there is more than just that.yiu can hold tarantulas.
Just had a horrible experience at a place I normally love. My daughters and I stopped at the outdoor "Beestro" for drinks following a 5 mile bike ride. As we walked up, the woman working there grabbed her laptop and went inside before we could order, saying "just pay inside for whatever you want." So I got us 3 bottled sodas out of a cooler and headed inside to pay. As we were headed in she comes storming out and says " you're not allowed to go back there!" I said i thought she wanted us to grab what we wanted and pay inside. She stormed off, shaking her head like I was an idiot. I said, "well you just walked away. We are going in to pay now." Then, while we are waiting in line to pay inside, she calls the person at the register and audibly tells her to make sure i didnt steal anything. Really? With my seven and six year old in tow? What a snot. Otherwise this place is a great place to visit.
Great place for all ages, must be a wonderful spot in the winter.
Love the beautiful hot house plants and foliage. The diversity and assortment of butterflies is amazing and the multi colors of all the wings floating through the air are mesmerizing. And the live bug collection is both fun and scarey to view as well! I especially like letting the tarantula walk across the palm of my hand. Awesome place!
The staff were available and more than happy to answer questions about the different invertebrates. Even one of the younger volunteers went out of her way to answer questions about the plants in the butterfly pavilion.
Don t have that much time to squeeze in a full trip to the zoo? well the Butterfly Pavilion won t take that long at all Denver Butterfly Pavilionto walk through, and no matter what your age- from kids to adults, you can entertain your senses and imagination throughout. You can t help but be amazed by the natural wonder of everything from the itty bitty insects, to the gigantic and prehistoric Horseshoe crab! It s downright fascinating to be able to touch a sea-creature that s considered a living fossil that s more than 450 million years old! Yikes! Following the rubbing, feeling, and peeking at sea life, the Butterfly Pavilions claim to fame is something comparable to what the Garden of Eden must ve been like with thousands of millions of butterflies fluttering gracefully over your head. Vivid colors, greens, blues, reds! the beauty of God s creation shines through in the butterfly rainforest.
We loved it brought my two year old daughter there had a good time.
It was a beautiful and great experience! We bought the membership and will be back often. My kids (10,8, 3 and 1 year old) all loved it!
It was nice and all but them butterflies was getting out of hand now I never in all my forever 21 years on this earth seen a butterfly Drive down from the shy Like a Hawk and attack me and my crew the way the ones here did Yeah Im alil over the top but forreals them things was doing the most but had fun so did the kids
Beautiful butterflies and a ton of other invertebrates. Loved watching the octopus solve puzzles.
What a great place! Butterflies spiders crabs and all kinds of crazy bugs to play with! Also you can have a kids birthday party there!
The staff is super friendly it's affordable to go do the place is clean it's a must-see
Fantastic. My toddler loved it. HOWEVER! what ruined the experience at times were children and adults who did not respect the butterflies and continued to touch and hold them. Even while standing in front of signs that said not to. What appalled me even nore were the adults who did nothing about their children who did this and did not teach them respect. Because the touching got excessive Ihad to inform staff, who were very unhappy that even the adults were out right breaking the rukes. DO NOT TOUCH THE BUTTERFLIES, WHEN YOU DO YOU ARE KILLING THEM. TOUCHING THEM SHORTENS THEIR LIFE SPAN. It shortens their life span, and costs the pavilion money.
Took our girls here to see Rosie. They were afraid at first but the staff was patient and they conquered some fears. Worth a visit.
Lots of cool butterflies, but it's kind of expensive. Use the Westminster Public Library to get a free pass.
Omg.. They have picnic tables outside. Got to eat some food Before going in. There are prairie dogs In the area. You do have to make a reservation before going in. Very easy to do all you gotta do is go online. I had so much fun looking at the bugs. The employees there are very knowledgeable. Very friendly services. It was so nice to see the butterflies And cocoonsThey also had starfish in other varieties of fishes and even Got to see an octopus.
Kids loved the play area. Fabulous garden area with butterflies
My daughters love this place! We have a family pass, but it also makes a great place to bring kids on vacation. In addition to the butterflies, they also enjoy the octopus exhibit as well as playing with the bugs. Super fun!
Such a fun place. The exhibits are interactive and educational. It is always a treat to hold Rosie the tarantula . The Butterfly room is amazing. There are butterfly releases during the day. A great experience for all ages
Really cool place in Fairly economical for a family. I recommend touching the tarantula!
Good exhibits, educational and fun place. Reasonable admission charge.
I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! Don't let the name fool you. Yes, they have butterflies but there is also so much more! Plenty of insects and a ton of tarantula as well.
For the money I really enjoyed this place. The culmination is the butterfly viewing area (pavilion). There is no doubt that you get to see plenty of them flying around.
They also have an outside area on their grounds that gives you a great interpretive experience on elevation systems (prarie dessert etc). Very interesting and most likely you will catch a prairie dog or two.
If you are in Denver this is definitely something I would put on my list.
This place was so cool. Stopped by for about an hour and a half, which was just about right for my 7 and 10 year old. They had an area for kids to dig in the soil/dirt to find critters. Try to go when they release the new butterflies, it was amazing! If my kids were a few years younger we could have spent ours there, but we still loved the place.
It's a great little spot to take kids to very educational and cool
We love this place. Kids love it, adults have fun. Seriously, there's butterfly's everywhere, how can't you love this place.
Such a fun place to go with my sweet, little granddaughter!
Fun to take families or just for a trip in Denver. Friendly people working there.
It is fantastic to have a little conscience with these wonderful animals
more than just butterflies, they have some other displays/critters too and a decent play area. Good place to keep little ones busy for a few hours. The butterfly room was really cool, lots of different species.
Reasonably priced, inside fun for a cruddy day. Volunteers are very helpful and friendly.
