Classic Victoria tourist attraction. If you haven't been you must go at least once. Beautifully landscaped gardens. The fountain is always cool too. In the summer they have a great fireworks show.

Food there is expensive. You can bring your own in if you want.

WOW! The colors, the assortment, the aromas, the excellent care of these flowers are incredible! You simply must find your way to the Butchart Gardens. My family and I spent half a day exploring the various garden themes, and absolutely loved every minute. There are truly no pictures which can do justice, so be prepared once you arrive to be in awe of this creative beauty. I plan to return, and spend a bit more time strolling rather than rushing through this treasure.

We have both been here before and enjoyed seeing how well things have been maintained over the years...if you have children who like Merry go Rounds get there early the line gets very long about mid afternoon! We take food, snacks and water..if you stay for the fire works, bring blankets and pillows and take a nap it is not worth the effort to fight the traffic arriving or leaving!

The gardens were truly breathtaking! My only regret was not having more time to explore the entire 55 acres. It was a perfect place to receive a marriage proposal for sure. Now I have the best memories to look back on that day with.

Beautiful, and a must see if you're in the area. Spent about 2 hours walking around the gardens. If it rains while you're there, there are clear umbrellas in a few spots to borrow as you walk around. We visited in mid September and it seemed like everything was in bloom. The grounds were very tidy, clean, and beautiful.

Loved the gardens, dont miss the sunken garden. Beautiful walks, everything pristine and gorgeous. Gift shops and food available. Reccomend it. The butterfly garden is about 5 minutes away, worth going to as well.

It took a very long time to get there from Vancouver but it was worth it as the gardens were beautiful. Slightly smaller than we were expecting but the colours were incredible. Really glad we made the journey. Allow yourself a full day of travel if you are staying in the city.

Very clean grounds and plenty of benches to sit at and enjoy the gardens. They have a large gift and coffee shop as well. Good size parking lot and very clean bathrooms.

A wonderful place to spend a day. Also your money... Beware it's expensive to go to $35/person. Plan a full day in order to experience and explore everything to the fullest and you won't regret it.

An amazing amazing place. It's astonishing. Absolutely beautiful. If you like plants even a little. You will afore this place. The grounds are very well kept. The plants are stunning. There was a huge amount to see. And a ton of variety. We were on vacation and this was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip. You can also buy seeds in the gift shop. :) I would love to return here at some point.

What an amazing place! A great way to spend half a day. The flowers change by the season. If you want to see the fireworks come early, like in the afternoon, to stand out your place especially if there are cruises in town. Also it's dog friendly!

This is an amazing place to visit, at least once in your lifetime.
The gardens are elaborate and very nicely separated into sections. Everything in the gardens is clean and elegant. Flowers are everywhere and they are all so beautiful. The grass, the trees and the bushes are so nicely kept. The place is continuously maintained at all times. You can see workers at every corner and it shows that they are trained well.
There are restrooms available in quite a few locations and they were clean.
They have food kiosks and snack places in multiple locations.
Make sure that you schedule a full day for this place. The parking was not an issue for us as we got there early morning.
If you are taking the ferry the same day, you can take an early ferry and get to the park around the time they open. You could take an earlier ferry back if needed and if they have enough space.

Absolutely Beautiful Gardens

Absolutely Beautiful Gardens
Fireworks very disappointing
People come from all over the world see see this. The music was LAME,
a song about milk bottles, a sing about bugs and germs.
It should be all about Canada
We came to see this 15 years ago and we remembered it being much better. Very disappointing display of fireworks time for a new theme.

Looking forward to Spring and Rhododendrons, Summer and their profusion of different flowers and plants.
I have an app for identifying plants. It's called "Picture This"
Extremely useful.

Awesome world class light display guarantees to impress. As usual this place is amazing abs and everything is well organized to get you in and out safely and efficiently. The only true negative was the fact I could not pre purchase tickets for my friends as they have zero ability to have a will call pickup scenario.. This would be a great feature and could easily be implemented if they went to a digital access pass or had one booth deal with will call ticket pickups.. Other than that, I'd say one of the biggest other improvements would be a few portable bathrooms along the journey, that would certainly help kids and people in general who need to go along the trail.

John the manager of the dock/bouys poorly represents the gardens . His management style is old school as is he. After 30 years visiting by boat we will never again return. He is not qualified for his current position.... And his demeanor and appearance is a liability to management.

I love the summer fireworks here. Totally worth my once a year pilgrimage to the gardens. Make sure you get seated about a half hour early so you don't miss out and bring a mylar or plastic sheet to go under your blanket or the grass will make you wet and unpleasant.

Very beautiful place. You can expect to spend about half a day. Food is expensive, and no vegan options. So you might want to bring a picnic lunch. The staff were friendly, and mostly knowledge.

All in all, of say it's worth going at least once.

Turning a broken down ugly scar of a quarry into one of the most beautiful places on Earth. A tremendous feat requiring decades. It's a must see if you're in the area for an example of restitution to our planet.

I love this place. It s more beautiful than you think it is going to be. The steep price is worth it but go early in the day to avoid the crowds. If you go too early in the year you will miss the rose gardens but the spring flowers are beautiful too and the gardens aren t nearly as busy.
The Sunken Garden is breathtaking. Full stop.

We went to see the lights but it's so much more than that. Don't be scared off by the traffic getting in, it's we'll run and doesn't take long. Great lights and Christmas ornaments all around. Beautiful gardens. The food at the cafeteria styled restaurant was great, my wife had a turkey dinner and loved it, and you can eat the basics off the kids menu also. A skating rink outdoors and a carousel, awesome place for kids. Live music outdoors....This place has it all. We will be back again.
