This place is unbelievable. Waterfalls, fountains, rose gardens, Japanese garden, sequoia trees, Italian gardens... All in just one beautiful place. Every single flower seems hand painted. Been there three times, it's always a pleasure, although I've only visited during summer. Wish some day I can do the tour in other season. I've heard fireworks is something you'd like to do at least once in a lifetime. Worth every penny.

Beautiful! We went mid December to see the lights and it was one of the best light displays that we ve seen!
The entrance time to drive in did take a while so make sure you factor it in for timing.
One of our favorite stops on the trip!

CDN $33/adult (June 1 2019) to see reasonably maintained flower garden is pricey. It a very touristy spot. It's a popular must visit checklist item for out-of-town visitors. Senior friendly accessible paths. Ideal to visit early morning (June) before tourist season gets too busy (july-august) Many nice sitting spots and photogenic areas but tricky to avoid crowds after lunchtime. Bring snacks bcos there are refillable water fountains so convenient. There are pricey restaurants too if u want to spurge. Convenient restrooms easy to find. It's a first and only one time visit for us probably.

Thought it was expensive at first but it was SO WORTH IT. Unbelievably well maintained with more flowers and plants than you could count. You will enjoy it even if you're not a plant person or gardener!

Beautiful gardens, had a nice time with my family. Would definitely recommend going here. Only downside is the number of people, but if you go on a non weekend or fireworks day you should be good.

So, if you are a garden fan, then yes - you will love it. Otherwise it is nothing special and super busy with tourists.

After this garden we went to Beacon Hill park and we liked much better, it is free and it has a petting zoo, which was a lot of fun :)!

Sunken garden, Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden, there are many amazing and beautiful flowers and landscaping. It's a far drive and a little on the pricey side (about $30 CA per person). One star off for slightly inflated fees.

Wow so beautiful, we went in a fireworks night on accident, it was very very busy! But still was enjoyable. Loved the live music they had near the large lawn. Food wasn't the best but it was edible, loved the gift shop.

We checked the website before going to ensure we would be able to bring a dog. All the information on the website indicated we would be fine as long as we kept the dog on a leash and under control. After ordering food at the Blue Poppy, we were asked by the staff if the dog was any sort of assistance dog and since he wasn't we were asked to take him outside. Since there wasn't any outside dining area, we resorted to taking turns eating. The rest of the tour of the gardens was wonderful and I especially enjoyed the Japanese Gardens. There should be more information indicating where dogs can and cannot go on the premises or possibly have an outdoor seating option.

This should be on everyone s bucket list, judging on the crowds it is. I loved it and can t wait to go again.
The many shops range from original artisanal to cheap trinkets you think you can t live without.
Bring your camera and extra batteries, the photography opportunities are endless and mind blowing.
You can bring a well behaved dog, don t bring your Pit bull kids are everywhere.

A must-see attraction in Victoria BC!

A must-see attraction in Victoria BC!

The Butchart Gardens is the gem of our trip, our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the visit!

The Sunken Garden, the Japanese Garden and the Carousel are our favourites. Incredible floral and plant arrangements using only the local and everyday plants. The colours, texture and varieties of plant species were overwhelmingly beautiful!

They now have summer concert and Saturday fireworks too. Make sure to keep your day ticket and come back at night time (for free), the look and feel is completely different!

Expensive, but honestly worth it. I'm not so much into flowers, or gardens, but I'm in love with nature and here you get both. We came during the pandemic, so naturally it wasn't busy and we were able to move around freely. There were a few sections that were closed down though.

All in all, a great way to spend 2-3hrs surrounded by beautiful nature

Beautiful garden both during the day and at night! Would highly recommend to other travelers to go around 6 or 7 and stay until it gets dark to experience the garden with sunlight and color lighting in the summer!

We always say save the best for the last !
Butchart Gardens is the best attraction in this area ! I am always taking my friends to here and I just love this garden so much ! First of all because I love all the flowers so much ! Inside this place has a Japanese garden and a rose garden , this two garden are my favorite place to go! They have the most amazing variety of plants and flowers all year around and professionally landscaped always! Such a lovely place to walk around and take your pets for a walk or prearrange a table for the high tea place! Last time we went was $33 for each guest . They have the World Famous German Sausage! Oh ! I love it so much ! THIS IS THE PLACE YOU MUST GO! photos will w added later on!

Absolutely beautiful! The amount of work and history that is entrenched in these gardens is amazing - I really enjoyed learning about the backstory of each garden. The entire place is beautiful but the Japanese Gardens, the Sunken Gardens and fountain, and the rose gardens are definitely must-sees!

Beautiful world renown gardens. I was there on July 1, Canada Day so it was a bit crowded. The roses were in full bloom , lilies and hydrangeas were just starting . Loved the water features and statues. Ate lunch in the restaurant and the food was good; had soup and salad.

The Butchart Gardens are a must see location while visiting Victoria Island. I happened to be in Victoria during the winter season and the Gardens were still absolutely breath taking. I cannot imagine how gorgeous the Gardens are in the summer months. I'm from Colorado, USA, where most vegetation is brown for 9 months, so this was quite the experience. I didn't have much interaction with staff, but the little that I did have was positive. I took public transportation to get here and that was probably the best option. The bus ride is a little long if you're leaving from downtown Victoria, but it does drop you off at the front entrance and is well worth the ride. For those who wish to have the most expensive experience, you can also ride a sea plane that drops you off at the back entrance as well.

A beautiful garden. It s big so do account that there will be a lot of people. This made things a little hectic and crowded. I went over the weekend and it was very busy but it s the only way you ll see the fireworks. The fireworks made it worth it though, I loved it! Do be sure to go for it early though so you get a good spot. It does get chilly when it s dark, pack a sweater or blanket.
