Spectacular place, great history, fabulous flowers and gardens. Not too crowded on a Saturday in October. The story of the Butchart family's devotion to the gardens is inspiring. Some of the views just took my breath away.

These gardens were so beautiful! So pretty and a lovely spot to spend the day. I would recommend making reservations for the restaurant ahead of time we got there around 11:30 and the wait was 2 hours. The self serve Cafe is just ok.

Great place to bring the kids. We go every year for the 12 Days Of Christmas exhibit and love it. The lights are fantastic and the staff are almost always helpful and professional. Around Christmas, they have umbrellas around the gardens that you can use for free which is a nice touch.

That said, be prepared to spend some money. It's around $28 per adult for admission which is definitely not cheap. It's worth it as a special event but definitely not a regular option for us.

I don't think there's enough adjectives to describe this spectacular accomplishment. Trust me. You have to see it to believe it. Worth the admission 10 fold. Many thanks to all the staff at Butchart Gardens.

You walk in and there are flowers all around you. There are gorgeous gardens to examine the roses and dance on the sunshine and there are animals to ride upon and you sway to the music of the carousel, wherever you go you simply want to smile and stay forever.

Beautiful gardens. Toured in the late evening. The ideas was that one could smell the fragrances of the plants after dark. I would skip that and visit during the day. Appears to host many activities. Dogs welcome.

Having been first established in the early 1900s each individual garden is a display of old world charm lazy Sunday afternoons as well as nature at it's most splendid. Dog friendly wheelchair accessible and the most wonderful afternoon tea the Island has to offer!.

Always perfect, any time of year. If you get a chance, go on a Saturday night in the summer. The fireworks are spectacular. Or go in the winter, the Christmas lights and caroling, and brass band is such a treat.

Unless you are big into horticulture this is not worth the time to get there or the money for the entrance fee. The gardens were a lot smaller than I was expecting and it was overall a very disappointing experience.

Carve out at least an hour to walk through these stunning gardens. Make sure to check out the Sunken garden, it's the focal point of the entire place and offers some amazing scenery. The Japanese themed section of the garden is another favorite and really compliments the style and theme. Friendly staff and plenty to see.

Visiting the Gardens in Oct 2017 I was pleasantly surprised at the array of colorful flowers. Only the rose garden was near the end of its blooming cycle. The variety of plants and architecture of the different gardens is well worth multiple visits.

A very gorgeous place to visit. The paths are easy to navigate and find Tour way around. I especially like the sunken garden and rose garden. Children would enjoy looking for topiary animals throughout the gardens and the carousel.

This place is immaculate! There are tons of people constantly taking photos and I found it to be quite okay and the traffic was great. The staff are incredible and they are always walking around to make sure the garden is in tip top shape. I will recommend this place to anyone and definitely return one day. My favourite part was either the rose garden or the Japanese garden.

A wonderful experience. Well managed and beautifully designed and maintained. Price a bit on the high side but for me it was worth it. Do need to know where you are going since signage is lacking until close.

Previously we had delayed going here, as the price seemed high!
We were so wrong, Butchart Gardens was stunning.
We were in awe.
Close your eyes to the cost, as the excercise and breath taking gardens are priceless!

Expensive attraction as for 4 of us was 132$ cad, but the garden is beautiful and took us about 30 minutes or so to go around. Great photo ops in a lot of the places in the garden and they give you a guide to identify all the different flowers which is great.

Over 50 acres of the 150 being used for a gorgeous display showcasing a variety of flowers, trees, plants and landscaping skills. For over 100 years these gardens have offered a stunning visual which takes you through a multitude of different sections from the "field" display of the Sunken Gardens to the meticulous care of the Japanese Garden.

This attraction offers up enough to soemd a day with a stage that showcases live music, multiple food and beverage outlets, and a gift shop. Don't forget the Rose carousel which is $2 for a ride!

In the evenings in the summer the night illumination is a must see as it offers a completely different perspective of the Sunken Gardens so I recommend trying to stay when it gets dark. Something that helps is the evening fireworks. A 30 minute display of dancing lights in an array of colours.

Always fabulous! A Csnadian historicsl site of over 55 acres with an amazing rose garden and Japanese gardens.
They serve food on site, from a picnic basket to a formal dinner.
Many photo opportunities, so bring your camera!
Many places for children too.

Enjoyed getting around the Garden with such a good varieties of flowers and plants. It is a well maintained garden with lots of options to eat from coffee to sandwiches and soups. We saw lots of Rhododendron trees but no flowers which could be because of the season. Would love to visit the garden again during Rhododendron flowering season.

Amazing history and the grounds are massive...we were very fortunate to get there when most flowers were in full bloom...we only missed the roses which were not out yet...would be 5 star but everything there is so expensive...even water they want you to buy a butchart gardens bottle for 6.50 then they will fill it up for you...bring your own water if its hot out.

During the day this is definitely be a 5 Star. experience. I visited three years ago during the day and Butchart Gardens is stunning,, a definite must see! This visit I came with a cruise tour and we came at 9:15pm. I had questioned how we would be able to see the gardens at night and was assured it would be all lit up. Well there were lights enough to see to walk, but not enough to see the gardens. If you have been there during the day and want to go and enjoy the peace and quiet of the evening then give it a try. Otherwise don t waste money to walk around in the dark wishing you could see something. Waste of money!

This is one of my best places to visit around Victoria. Garden is always beautiful regardless what time of year I come visit. My only problem is with price of food at restaurant or food stands. $6 for a $0.50 hotdogs, just one of examples.
