Perfect end to a perfect Saturday. The food, ambiance, service, and location were all perfect. We both loved every min of it and can't wait to go back. Had the 5 course option from a social site and the service was so good we tipped up. Would highly recommend for someone looking to treat their special someone while treating themselves!!

I have loved the Briarhurst for 20 year s. Beautiful setting, ambience, refined service. Had a rehearsal dinner for one child and a wedding reception for another child. Tonight was totally different!! Has it been sold or leased to someone new? The hostess and wait staff were unrefined- like someone just hired them from a Chili s. The salad- no presentation- just greens thrown on a plate. 2 of our friends ordered the steak Diane with lobster tail BUT it came out with shrimp NOT lobster tail!! The waitress then told us they had been out of lobster tail for a couple of days. So why wasn t that mentioned before ordering? They don t even like shrimp AND the shrimp wasn t any good- it was soft.
Our dessert was mixed up. They served my husband s and our friends on one plate and his wife s and mine in another plate- seriously....nothing was done to rectify this.
Worst cheesecake I ve ever had. It was grainy!! Not smooth, not rich, not creamy but grainy.
Not spending over $100.00 on coarse poor service and mediocre food.
Please come back previous owners and wait staff....then we ll come back but never again with present management.

We were gifted a night on the town for a special occasion. After scouting through the websites for several of the top restaurants in CoSpgs, we selected the Briarhurst - largely based on the menu offerings. We made out reservations and More

We ate here for the mothers day brunch. The majority of food I tried was very tasty. Beautiful manor with a story behind it. It felt like I was dining back in time. The staff was very friendly and inviting. They were even thoughtful enough to give the mothers a flower.

Upon arrival, it should have been apparent how this is not the same restaurant of a few years ago. The grounds were so run down and overtaken by weeds. The restroom only had one commode I working order. There was mold around the window and the sink actually had dirt under the paper towels holder. There was nothing clean about the restaurant. The elk wellington was so overdone and the crust was soggy. Probably one of the worst and most embarrassing meals that we have had in a very long time. Room for improvement on every level.

The food is great! Four stars because the wait staff shames you for using a groupon (even though everyone there that night was using one) and even after the shaming they still managed to mess up our drink order. But based on the food it was incredible.

An excellent experience and meal for our classy bachelor party dinner.

Tyler was most helpful in guiding us through the etiquette of our five course dinner. The combination of the food and the environment alone moved me up an income bracket.

I would definitely recommend if you have it in your budget - friendly staff and delicious food!

If you're looking for new, interior decorator-look, upscale dining, look elsewhere. But for a romantic, quiet, elegant, delicious dining experience in a historic manor that stayed true to it's roots, Briarhurst is perfect. The food varies from 7 to 10 out of 10, but when paired with the beauty of each of the rooms (you could be in one of many unique, intimate rooms), it's worth the price. The staff adds to the meal, being friendly and personable, butt still professional and appropriate for a restaurant serving a 5 course meal (at least that's Brittany, didn't see many other of the staff). At the top of the list for special occasions in Colorado Springs.

The wife and I have experienced dinner here twice, now. We enjoyed it very much on both occasions.

The place is house, well a mansion, and you dine in the various rooms of the antique tribute to the past days of Manitou and the Old West.

We took the five course option, each time. The presentation is spot on and the taste and flavor of each course made a great transition to the next.

I'd take my Mom here :)

My wife and I dined here for the second time recently. I must say, on our first visit we were left with disapointment. Knowing that a perfect restaurant does not exist, and being aware of Briarhurst's reputation, we dicided to give it another try. I must say, on both of our visits we found the food to be very salty. On the first visit, my wife had to send her food back due to the high salt. The second time was better, but still left us needing excessive water after our meal. She ordered the Beef Wellington - medium well. I ordered the filet minon - medium rare. There were both equally done - medium well. It was dry and only had a hint of pink in the center. To make matters worse, the waitress did not show back up to the table for 15 minutes. While nothing is horrible at this establishment, I expect FAR better when some of the entree items exceed $50. I think we'll stick with Craftwood Inn on our next visit to Manitou.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Briarhurst Manor. The elk Wellington was superb and the creme brulee was very good. I was impressed with how large the small salad was and tasted. One thing I really wish they would improve on is the cheese platter I remember back when it was called Cheese's of the world and they would bring it out with crackers and bread they had a lot of nuts and different types of nuts with fresh fruit and dried fruit as well as many cheeses.
It was still very good but it wasn't the classic Briarhurst cheese platter.
Be prepared to spend at least three hours. It is a romantic place and never in a hurry.

I was not there for the dining experience; but to tour the facilities for the Paragon Culinary School; which operates in part out of Briarhurst. The facility is gorgeous, and by gorgeous, that is an understatement. The kitchen/teaching area is astounding. I can definitely see why this is a popular destination for weddings and events, the house itself with the background it is set would make for a truly magical experience.

My other half and I ate there yesterday (Jan 23, 2021) and had a mixture of feelings regarding the experience. Our server started out good, and appeared attentive (understand COVID rebounds with getting back into the swing of things) but after taking our order, it went unexpectedly. Wait times in between the five course amounted to a total experience of 2 hrs with 20 minutes in between being complete.

We ended up getting a glass of wine, but took longer than expected to get the wine, which again, is fine. We weren t in a hurry and had no plans after dinner. Additionally, we only received 4 small slices of bread...haven t seen that before, but I thought nothing of it.

The food was worth the wait in the end, however was disappointed that the table across from us remain un-attend to after the patrons departed. It wasn t an overly busy evening, the worst of the experience came when we requested two bottles of Birthday Cake Moscato to go. Our server sealed the brown bag with staples and informed us to keep it secure until we got home (which we complied even though the bottles were unsealed .

Mind you we love 45 minutes away, so when we got home, to our surprise we had two bottles of wine, one which was the right one (HOWEVER...it was open and had been served prior to being given to us (mind you it is $40 a bottle from Briarhurr) and the other was not what we had ordered).

We called, spoke to the Head Chef to which he then returned our call and stated they would fix the issue today (Jan 24). We arrived at around 6:40 pm following an outing, only to be greeted with the host and informed the bar tender would be with us shortly. After 20 minutes of waiting and no resolve we then departed with the issue still unresolved. This is following haven spoken to the owner/manager earlier today to which she stated the staff would be made aware that we would by to pick up the bottles of wine we had originally purchased.

Listen, I understand COVID and getting back into the swing of things, however, with a $200 bill, little things such as 2 $40 bottles of wine being an easy purchase/easy fix. It s completely unacceptable to be lax in a business of customer service industry and fail to make an $80 mistake right as was discussed by all levels of management and have I m sorry from the hostess be the only thing we receive in return.

It was our first fine dining experience here in Colorado and i didn't expect any less. From the moment you walk in, it felt cozy and was greeted politely by the staff. And through out the whole 5 course meal the staff made sure you are doing well while letting you enjoy yourselves. Our server, RJ, was very kind and tentative. He also explained everything and gave us a couple recommendations that was amazing! We got the elk and prawns from the menu. It was very delicious and tasty! The food were served beautifully that it made us not want to eat it because we didn't want to ruin it! They also offered tours by the host if asked. Unfortunately, we weren't able to go and explore the manor, but certainly will come back next time!

Also fun fact: our dessert was served in a roofing tile that came from the manor itself. I thought it was pretty cool they used original pieces from the manor and repurposed it.

I highly recommend this place!!!

I am in absolute shock at the lack of customer service provided here. My husband made a reservation for two, but had to call back and change that to four to include our two children. The women on the phone said she had changed our reservation to a four top. When we arrived the women at the hostess stand were loudly discussing their inability to perform their job and how overwhelmed they were. How can such a classy establishment have not trained employees to keep any issues to themselves and never discuss that in front of guests. Then they couldn t seat us because they had our reservation as a two top. When I asked if they could speak to the women who changed our reservation they said it would be impossible to know who it was? It would take very little common sense to find out who answers phone, and ask amount them who we spoke to. Clearly the staff wasn t ready to take responsibility because they wasn t that many people working.
Finally they offered to seat us without our children???
I feel obligated to inform as many people as possible to avoid this place. Do not let them ruin your entire night.

We recently had our wedding at the Briarhurst and it was amazing. The food was unbelievably delicious, the staff was incredibly helpful and Alison helped myself and my husband with every last detail. She made the wedding go so smoothly. We recommend anyone looking for a wedding venue to go here. Thank you to everyone at the Briarhurst for making our wedding day perfect!

The manor was lovely and fun experience to dine in, but the food I had was pretty lackluster for the price. The lobster bisque was VERY salty. Both my husband and I's stomachs were a little put off for the rest of the meal just from the bisque. I had the beef Wellington which was pretty good, but I've made better just at home. However, the vegetables with the main dish were fresh and tasty. The bread pudding dessert was rubbery and not very fresh tasting. It was a cool experience to do once, but I don't think we'll be back.

I have attended a wedding here a few years ago and most recently attended a business event... I have a love of history and architecture but that is not why I gave the 5 stars. The food that was served stepped out of my highest foodie dreams! I have a great appreciation for fine dining, maybe from trying so many recipes from Food & Wine magazine myself. The duck com fee was absolutely splendid, as was all of the menu items. The presentation left me feeling somewhat rewarded and the over all experience made me want to hum and rock back and forth. I didn't, of course, but dining at the Briarhurst Manor Estate was so perfectly exquisite. I can't wait to do it again.
