The worst college I have ever been to. The worst staff in the country. I have been to 3 other colleges. A community and state college up in Ohio and Strayer University, based out of another state here in Jacksonville. When I first went to fscj back in 2000, the financial advisor didnt help me with financial aid or explain any assistance. I was working a part time, minimum wage job, took a few classes and had to quit cause I couldnt even afford the basics. I lived a few years thinking college wasnt possible, until I moved up North with my girlfriend where she was in college. The staff was so helpful and friendly, they showed me how to do everything, mostly young students, Not the old careless ladies staff in J-ville. I attended for 2 years , no problems, until I moved back to j-ville and tried to finish my degree. Well low and behold the old lady in the computer lab didnt even know how to download and print a file.. Really, why do you even work here? I went to the financial department and they said I still owed money from years back, I told them I have a grant and said I could pay with that, and they said no.. I ended up going to an online college, easy peasy , Nooo problem.. for a whole other year.. What is wrong with this college is it just the dumb south, or theses old hard-headed staff members.. I think they should be fired or whoever runs this school
I've attended FSCJ for a few semesters now and I really enjoy it. The staff ranges from very helpful to not so much- but I think we can all agree that, it's the case in most places. Overall the staff is great, very friendly, the advisors are really good and go out if their way to make sure you're staying on track and that your classes are ok.
I take online and in person classes and am happy with the variety of hours because I work Monday through Friday
