The Box Tree is everything we thought it would be and more. We were lucky enough to come here the day after our engagement, and the staff gave us such a warm welcome and made our visit so special. The food is exceptional (I especially loved the marmite butter) - we had Sunday lunch and everything was perfect. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back next time we re in the area. Thanks to everyone at The Box Tree for making our visit so special and memorable.

The food was excellent, great flavours, well presented and could not be faulted. The service however, lacked attention to detail and was well below expectations for a Michelin starred restaurant hence my rating.

Friendly, excellent menu and outstandingly good food

The food was exceptional and interesting modern cooking which is as good as will be found. The service was first class, personal and personable. The Alsace Grand Cru Riesling was quite outstanding and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our lunch immensely, in very pleasant, traditional surroundings.

Amazing food, service, atmosphere and of course wine. Just because we cannot travel right now doesn't mean we can't travel a food and wine list. Amazing. I highly recommend.

Really disappointing given high expectations. Went for a Sunday lunch and was met by friendly and attentive staff. The roast rib and sirloin of beef was delicious, as were the accompaniments. This was let down by two poorly put together desserts and fairly average starters. We were also served with recommended wines which, if anything, brought out the worst in the food and vice versa. Sunday lunch isn't likely what the Michelin star was awarded for but I expected more from a restaurant with a reputation like the Box Tree's.

A sublime dining experience - perfectly blended tastes and textures in unique dishes, with a wonderful staff balancing friendliness with formality. I thoroughly recommend the tasting menu, and can especially their signature souffle for dessert.
