I'd let the French Toast know me in the biblical sense.
Amazing french toast. Other foods are mediocre. Service was a little slow, even when the restaurant didn't seem that full. However, I would come again for the French Toast alone.
My wife and I had a great brunch here. Wonderful brioche French toast w/ Grande Marnier whipped cream and a killer Kir Royale!
Warm service, lots of coffee refills, and high ceilings so noise levels not too loud.
Recommended!
A more casual version of Houstons / Hillstone / Gulfstream (which I would kill to have come to the area). Reasonable prices. We will be back.
This is a great place for a good quality american meal in Clarendon. I had the Kufta pita which was a nice lunch choice. The pita came with fries as a side. The fries here have a great taste and so far are my favorite fries in Clarendon. There is plenty of window seating and outdoor seating.
The food here is always pretty decent, just nothing special. My friends and I end up coming here for brunch when all the other Arlington spots have a long wait, as Boulevard Wood Grill is never overly crowded. They've got a pretty typical brunch menu, and dinner is also pretty typical upscale American cuisine (steaks, seafood, salads, etc.). I find the food to be a bit overpriced for the quality.
I went to dinner with friends. While waiting for our table, I wanted to order a drink. I sat at the bar to order, the bartender was at the far end of the bar and didn't make one move toward me to take my order. Then two men came in and the bartender came from the far end of the bar and started talking to these two men. While he was talking I spoke up and asked for an Old Fashion. He told me to wait. I said I was here before those two men why do I have to wait. The bartender ignored me. I went back to my friends who had witness this incident and they ordered for me. If I looked like a hooker I'd understand why I was ignored but I was a well dressed, middle-aged woman. As one of my friends said: Don't you know that women are transparent to bartenders." Transparent or not I will never return to this place and will tell all my friends to avoid it.
Excellent breakfast and lunch fare at reasonable prices, as well as a decent beer and cocktail selection.
Came here for brunch, and it was delicious! I got the breakfast chimichanga, and my husband got the french breakfast. The french toast was really good, but the whipped cream didn't taste like a grand marnier whipped cream (as it stated on the menu). The chimichanga was enormous (I ended up taking half of it home), but delicious. The drinks were a little pricey, and the coffee just so so.
Had the Tandori Chicken- it was a little on the dry side and a little bland, my wife had the steak salad, also not too bad, but nothing special. The Key Lime pie was not very good- a bit flavorless and not nearly tart enough. Service was below-par and the place a little too brightly lit and "cold" in terms of atmosphere. Not bad, but not great.
I walked out - lunch bartender had a personality problem.
I arrived just before they opened, got a diet coke, looked at the menu - and he totally ignored me - so I left.
Having been here previously for lunch and finding it satisfactory but not note-worthy, I was surprised at how good the food was when we stopped in for brunch today. Too hot for the patio, we opted to dine inside where it was full and loud, but didn't feel crowded. We were given a 20 minute wait for two so grabbed mimosas and the best bellini I've had in a while at the bar. We were seated very quickly among the primarily polo-shirt wearing crowd which was very "Arlington" - well off, some young families out with friends, groups of young professionals, etc.
I was really happy with the Nordic Salmon Hollandaise I ordered off the somewhat limited menu. Its a wood grilled chunk of salmon served over three spears of firm asparagus, perched on a plentiful bed of home fries and topped with a dollop of hollandaise. The crispy home fries stole the show, packing a bevy of flavors that will no doubt call my name again.
My guy ordered the Grand Hotel French Toast which was a smaller order than I would have thought, but the cornflake crust gave it a delightful crunch and the toast itself was surprisingly light. The Grand Marnier whipped cream was ridiculous. It comes with a small side of bacon to help counter act the sweet but if you're really hungry, you may need to add sides.
This restaurant has ample outdoor and inside window seats. The Eggs Florentine was delicious and all of the wait staff were very professional attentive.
It was a special event - my wife's birthday. Family had flown into town from across America - 15 in all. Our reservation phoned to the Boulevard Woodgrill three weeks in advance was lost twice, and we personally had to visit the restaurant to make sure it was in their reservation book. Despite that, the restaurant staff was not prepared, and the table not ready. When we were finally seated, one single server was assigned to us and other patrons nearby. Service was awful. After serving drinks, she disappeared. We had to flag her down to take our dinner choices. While the dishes were not bad, any specialness was overshadowed by poor service. Wrong dishes brought to the table, etc. When it came time for cutting a birthday cake - which we brought with us - the cake knife they provided had not been cleaned from a previous use.
I've been here twice. Mediocre at best. Service was okay, food was decent, but they are overpriced. With so many options in Clarendon this is an easy one to pass on.
I'd always wanted to check out Boulevard Wood Grill and thought, having a friend in from Baltimore, that it would be a good opportunity to check out their brunch. I'd never been inside, and I would say the place had a lot of room and felt very open, which created a really nice atmosphere. We went for brunch so being a very non-eggy brunch eater, my option was limited to the french toast. Luckily, it was good! It was four slices of thick brioche bread with a side of Grand Marnier whipped cream. Of course with real maple and applewood bacon. I was really pleased with a selection. I'm curious to try other brunch options in the Clarendon area and compare.
Asked what they could do for my friends birthday, they gave us free brownie with ice cream + candle, free. Very cool. Great food and service.
Just not really a good restaurant. I had the scallops. They were overcooked and over salted. The "light seafood broth" was a mess of butter, what tasted like seafood instant ramen flavor packet and again way too much salt. Very overpriced for this poor of quality. I finished most of it but ended up feeling like I should have just sent it back. It's not often that I wish I hadn't even eaten a meal. My partner had the flat iron steak medium, and it came out grey and dry. He decided not to eat his meal at all. I guess he made the smart choice. My old fashioned was alright, and we liked the beef satay appetizer, but we will not be back, and I'd be hard-pressed to recommend to anyone I actually like.
The service was good, and the food just okay. Standard American fare, nice burgers etc.
Highly recommend ! Best brunch in Arlington Consistently Great, Always has the best chef specials:)
I have been here for dinner and it was delicious. I had the bbq ribs and they were delicious. They were moist and juicy. I have heard they are also great for brunch. The location is also great as it is close to the metro and easy to find. I would definitely recommend this place.
Best brunch in the area. French toast is awesome. Eggs are always perfect.
