I had dealt with one of their worker Matt. He was did work on my sample hats and did a horrendous job. He kept delaying the work telling me they got new machines in and the machine had to get calibrated. Then he would delay the work again on 3 hats, just 3 by saying they had an order for the NY Mets. Which was all understandable until I received the hats where every one of the hats were messed up. He said he always do great work the first time but when I received it, guess what, he had a story telling me how nothing comes out perfect the first time.
OK... so you f&*ked my samples up and you expect me to hire you to do a bulk order? Yea, keep dreaming, kid.
About 2 weeks later, I received an email survey from a company called Ink Well. I looked it over and viola! It was this little boy's so-called company that he supposedly own, but instead he works for them and were doing side jobs. Now I see why he kept delaying my samples. This imbecile didn't get new machines he was trying to do side work so his boss wouldn't catch him.
I complained to Paypal because he was supposed to do another hat for me that he did a shitty job on. He didn't reply to my texts for 2 days on the status of the hat he said he was going to fix. As soon as I made that report he text me back around 1 am. I still have the text messages to prove it, too. Oh, he tried to blackmail me by saying if you don't remove that report from Paypal I cannot make this other hat (which he was entitled to do it anyways since he messed up my hat). I didn't remove it, I don't care what this lying POS says.
Paypal sided with him because it was a custom job. He did the hat. He fixed the issue.. somewhat. The somewhat; it wasn't on the hat I ordered and the job is still shitty, the made the embroidery way too high reaching the top of the hat. This is why I am saying he is an imbecile because only imbeciles can't do a simple job on samples and expect someone to have him do the job on bulk orders.
Anyways, back to the survey. I made my complaint through the survey and I received a called from some other man who was supposed to be the higher authority. He was an older man, I can tell by his voice. He seemed very concern about my experience with them. He listened to my story, somewhat, he cut me off at times and didn't even let me finish the whole story of his shitty worker. Which made me realize this man don't care, he just though I was some big company.
He said he was going to call me back shortly. I am assuming shortly means same day or next. Well... it have been over 2 months.
Good luck dealing with this company. They don't care about your experience UNLESS you are a big company.
I am a person who wears many hats both figuratively and literally (though in the latter sense, I'd never wear multiple hats at once, that would be truly crazy), including beret, barista, beanie, bartender, boater, and businessman (and that s just to name a few, just those with beginning with the letter b ) and would like to use this opportunity, this forum, to announce my overall positive experience with Inkwell: as the head of my own company, an online startup, I am always striving to boost the morale of my staff and encourage a strong sense of teamwork, and had purchased, some time ago, a modest order of several hundred hats for the workers of my company to wear, while at the office, but also throughout the rest of the day (of course this couldn t be strictly enforced, as much as I would like the staff to wear them every waking minute while doing the laundry or picking up groceries at the farmers market, to help promote our brand and enliven our image it simply couldn't be done); yes, and in addition, I had ordered many extra hats, for the staff to distribute among their family and friends, all custom made from Inkwell, a standard cream-colored baseball cap, with our logo emblazed upon the front in a bold, regal, majestic reddish maroon, which Inkwell matched perfectly to the samples we were initially offered embroidered, with a machine of course (but, I should mention, while looking at the hats up close, I could tell that they were made with a tremendous amount of care and craftsmanship, and in our age of mechanical reproduction, it s still fine and lovely and somehow very moving to me to see the meticulous care with which Inkwell s machines are calibrated and maintained: in this regard, the hats are completely flawless); so why in the end, you might ask, would I only offer Inkwell four stars out of five? well, the answer is slightly more complicated and perhaps it s not fair to blame this problem on the manufacturer of the custom hats, but still, to put it plainly: the result of distributing the hats among the staff didn t have the desired effect, the effect that was not only implicit but plainly stated during my phone conversation with the sales representative, no, that didn t happen; what I expected was for my staff to simply love the hats, I expected that these hats would be worn with a amount of interest and shall I go so far as to say devotion ? and this was what the sales representative had clearly reiterated, he confirmed this again and again, never lacking enthusiasm; but as for the result, I can t blame him entirely, or Inkwell, since they have no control over whether or not the employees of my company wear the hats (even over the weekends), and whether they are happily accepted and worn by the families and friends of the staff; however, something of the whole experience with Inkwell was soured by the overall reception in the office; though I wouldn t hesitate to recommend Inkwell to my friends or other companies, I might simply warn them that it might be a better idea to spend money in some other way, on a company retreat or a Facebook ad or some other gimmick that s readily available on the internet, because, after all, we have the whole world at our fingertips, so why and why hadn t I realized this earlier why would anyone want to settle on hats?
