What a fantastic gallery! I've never seen so much high quality contemporary artwork - paintings, jewellery, sculpture, ceramics - I would have happily bought the lot! (Except I can't afford any of it.) These are exceptionally talented artists and it's a gorgeous venue to see their work in. Were tempted by the set menu in the artisan restaurant but were not hungry enough so had lunch upstairs in the cafe instead. Generously portioned and perfectly cooked, we loved the eggs royale and the avocado toast. Lots of art on the walls throughout the cafe so you can ignore the building works outside!
Excellent cuisine, reasonable prices. Alfresco dining was just what we wanted
Really nice art with a very tasty cafe attached to it. The art isn't stupidly priced either so don't be put off calling in to have a look around!
What a lovely place really nice art to see or buy what a good restaurant with great food and good view of the roof terrace
Great place, very affordable art work, cafe and restaurant both good. Good place to visit on a Sunday afternoon.
The gallery is nice, however was expecting more from the cafe. Had a lunch there and the food was pre-heated
It has a variety of art, using different mediums. It wasn't stuffy like some art galleries I've been to that. It was bright and modern. It was also interesting to see the artists studios in the basement, and meet some of them. The Artisan restaurant on the ground floor is very nice, with good service and food. We went as a treat for lunch and they have a lunchtime menu, which makes it a bit cheaper.
Fab building fantastic good and wine in the brasserie . Glorious views on a sunny lunchtime ... definitely highly recommend
Lovely gallery with a wide range of great quality paintings and sculptures from local artists.
Walk around this stylish gallery full of great art and pick out a favourite. I could spend a fortune here.
I always love coming to the biscuit factory....the variety of artwork and the quality is outstanding. You can put things aside and pay in instalments which is great if you can t afford it straight away. What is not to like ???
Fantastic art displays you can buy. Lovely building. Great cafe.
Amazing range of art all displayed in a beautiful building. Prices range from low to high but can be paid for over 10 months with the excellent Government Schemme 'Own Art' . Great place to meet for lunch.
Interesting and eclectic exhibition. Friendly staff.
Amazing building filled with art , what's not to love.
Great exhibition for contemporary and practical art. Lots of beautiful pieces, well worth a visit.
Lovely good and beautiful artworks in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. What's not to like?
Nice place and friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, well worth the visit,
Really like this place. Different art forms, sculpture, painting, prints, textiles, jewellery. Think it would be difficult not to find something to your liking.
Fabulous collection of art from around the region, some reasonably priced and affordable. The ceramics and jewellery were particularly good when I visited - wonderful designs. The Biscuit Factory will be on my list of places to visit every time I travel to Newcastle.
Amazing art, beautifully and skillfully curated in a wonderful space. The variety and quality of the art work on display is truly breathtaking. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and inviting. I have visited the gallery many times over the last 5 years times and every time I go I am more impressed - it's outstanding. If you're visiting the North East of England this should definitely be on your "must see" list.
Fantastic selection of affordable art, displayed in a super interesting setting.
Love this place we had a lovely meal with very unusual salad that was delicious
Agreeable internal and external environments. Interesting array of art and art objects.
Interesting venue, good range of tasty food and pleasant, efficient service.
Shows off lots of artwork in the main room. There is two floors. Not sure about wheelchair accessiblity.
We know about the Biscuit Factory and for some reason we never go. Perhaps it's because of the small child or an idea that we would never get parked for free round there. However I took the small child (and parked for free) and apart from me spending most of the time saying ' don't run!' and 'don't touch!' we both had a really great time. There were loads of really accessible and interesting things to see and I've fallen in love with the ceramics all over again. I was surprised by how much space there is in the cafe and we had a great experience there of very attentive and friendly staff. We're planning to come back for brunch soon....
An asolutely beautiful gallery full of such impressive pieces that cater to all tastes. I feel so content when here.
Always something to excite and surprise you, staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Great food as well.
Heating not working in cafe, although upgraded not as good as before
Discovered this place while doing the design trail of Great North exhibition and want to come again! Superb art gallery - loved their pottery. Restaurant had a great menu with excellent interior and we're going to come one evening to try tasting menu. They have a small room which you can have for private functions. Update Dec - love the cafe too! Scrummy spicy beans on sourdough with either crispy bacon or egg. Quiche also looked gorgeous. New exhibition was excellent and we were there an enjoyable hour
Was there for a wedding celebration. Excellent venue.
I went to see the Jim Moir AKA Vic Reeves exhibition and it was great. There was lots of other great art there too
Some canny stuff but by God you need deep pockets. Lovely table as shown.
Don't get confused ... it's an art gallery for sale ...
Best place to visit and great little cafe no to expensive either
Fab food, and a great gallery of local talents work.
Great place to have lunch , and then wander through the gallery
Great place to view and buy art although prices you would expect. Lovely building. Cafe needs improvement: Expensive, massive portions, tea and cakes were terrible.
All ways a wonderful variety of magnificent creations by talented people. The cafe is excellent also. A 'must visit ' location
Fabulous collection of fine art for sale, starting at reasonable prices. Excellent friendly cafe alongside. Heavenly
Had a fantastic meal here with friends in the private dining area. Really really good food and very good value. Would definitely recommend!!!
Great cafe / restaurant fixed onto an excellent art gallery. Parking can be an ordeal but is available. Lovely staff.
Good range of artwork, something for everyone. Cafe was worth a visit menu choice was good at a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit
Some lovely peices of delicate ceramic, unusual glass both functional and decorative. Abstract and clinical paintings in monochrome and vibrant colour. (I thought Ed did a lot of paintings until I realised it was short for edition). Some could be bought a little cheaper unframed.
Pricey but interesting artwork. Vic Reeves sketches worth a look, some are just doodles but there's a decent artist visible in others.
A wide range of art and crafts, all of high quality, a wide range of prices, even the more expensive are available with 10 months free credit. A very worthwhile visit. A nice coffee and scone, interesting selection for lunch.
Great place. Lots of various arts & crafts. Nice coffee shop.
Pop in if you are in Newcastle. Beautiful art including jewellery and glass for sale. No pressure to buy . Cafe is worth a visit alone. Outside terrace so great if the weather is good.
You need deep pockets, but there's some lovely art, and if you are looking for inspiration there's plenty.
Very quaint, my Niece was Married their. Lots of artwork inside, but the Wedding and the Reception was perfect, everyone had a great time and was well organised.
Beautiful paintings and lovely bistro on the top floor.
Not what I had expected going in, but was pleasantly surprised! The Biscuit Factory is set up like an art gallery where all the pieces are for purchase. On the outside it looks rather small but once you are inside, you are able to see how many items and how individually unique each piece is! I loved that most of the pieces were created by people from the Newcastle area/ Newcastle themed pieces.
Lots of interesting art glass and ceramics on display in well converted biscuit factory premises. Pleasant cafe, nice atmosphere to sit and chat. Well worth a visit.
Lovely location for an event and great that it s out of the way.
Nice original gallery with a cute coffee place inside. Nice plan for a Saturday morning.
