A very professionally organised, clean and relaxing place to visit for food and drink.
A good menu with great choice, along with a decent variety of drink options available.

The food was really nice and the staff couldn't be more polite and professional than they already were. Absolutely top marks to them.

The Covid procedures were explained and very well organised.

The garden area is really nice.

Definitely a place on my "to revisit and to recommend" list!

Loved our stay. Everything was beautiful, from the suite to the breakfast. Staff are brilliant. Evening menu stunning. There were functions on both nights of our stay but we were never an after thought and very well looked after. If you can book to stay here just do it.

Just got back from a very dissapointing dinner at The Bell. Each course too half an hour of waiting, the kids portions were tiny (we had to order 2 more each one in a full price) and all was much over priced.
The food was ok at best, and "the bowl" was boaring in compare to what you expect.
Not coming back anytime soon I'm afraid.

Went to a function here a few weeks ago. Good space, lovely staff and nice food and drinks. Great out drop space too as there is a large empty green bit beside the pub (good for the wee ones to run around!)

Great beer garden, real ales on hand pump. Sumptuous rooms available. The Bell is mostly an upmarket dining/ gastro pub but there is a defined drinking area for those of a bibulous inclination only.

It has now been 2 weeks since my surprise birthday meal at the bell alderminster. My son ordered the salmon to start, the wrong one turned up. We ordered pasta with grated cheese for my nephew, it turned up with cheese sauce which he doesn't like, so he didn't eat it. I ordered chips which never arrived. 3 of us ordered the chocolate brulee, which was disgusting & bitter. To top it all off, whilst we were sitting there a waitress took a chair without asking to set up another table!!

I complained & was asked for my email address as they would send me something to compensate....................guess what......................haven't heard from them at all!!

NOT IMPRESSED!!

We turned up on Easter Sunday having not booked a table. As soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcome and were immediately offered a table. From the start it was apparent that nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were very friendly and polite. The sevice was unbelievable....quick and efficient. To top our visit off, the food was wonderful too although we could have eaten a lot more than the portion we were given (we were very hungry!!)

Excellent food and incredible accommodation. Booked all of the rooms as accommodation for the grooms wedding party so have been able to see all of the rooms and all are of the same high standard. They all have their little quirks and are all finished to a very high standard. Great bathrooms in all. The two suites are suoerb and very spacious. The restaurant served an incredible breakfast which was commented on by all the guests staying (something to be said for a group of foodies). Thank you to the staff and management for a wonderful few nights! Could not have asked for better!

Friendly staff and manager. Ambience was perfect. Arrived 5:30 meeting up with family for 6:30 drinks in the bar area Sat in front of the log burner. Dinning area very modern/ chic a little cool so asked for heating yo be turned up and it was done instantly
Food was beautiful. First time I'd tasted pheasant, loved it. Lemon posset was to die for.

Lovely place, good service. Sunday menu. Food not as good as in the past. Roast beef was too rare for some. Asked for it to be cooked a little longer but without a positive result. Asked to move away from table to allow other diners to begin their meal. Just a bit below par overall.

Beautiful location with a enourmous garden space out the back perfect for a drink in the sunshine. I haven't had food here so can only comment on the location and service which are both good.

Genuinely, one of the loveliest restaurant/pubs that I've been to for a long time. The staff are absolutely fabulous and the food was delectable. Part of our group was delayed due to traffic and they kept the kitchens open for us. To surmise, generous hosts, fabulous food and a lovely view. Well done to all at 'The Bell'.

Service was ok... there was a spanish guy as a waiter and he really knew the menu and was very helpful, friendly and just how you expect a waiter to be... spot on! But to be honest all staff were friendly but that Spanish guy really did stand out with his customer service. The food was ok, maybe a little pretentious, but i guess thats the clientele of the place. All the food was deconstructed, was a modern twist, but i think a juicy burger (undeconstructed) would be nice.... please have a gourmet burger please!! Garden lovely, decor like a hotel.. which was fine, needs more character, children were abit annoying to be honest.. toilets need attention... expect hand towels and maybe a little luxury for wash hands in the mens rest room.... moisture, hand moisture and a room smelly would be a nice touch to the rest room... clean just missing the extra touches... 5 star to a 9 star... the extra take it there.

Thanks anyways bell.

I will be back and these comments are intended to benefit you and anyone's else's experience in the future.

:)

I walk to the Bell a few times a year when I am in the area. It s not posh, but it doesn t have a country charm either. Pros: There is a comfy fire at winter, big garden area at summer and nice staff. Cons: the food is only served at set times and they don t have basics like scotch eggs or sausage rolls (not convenient for walkers). Food is also hit or miss. Lighting and music also hit or miss.
Worth carrying onto Ilmington if you can

Had lunch with friends today and the service was exemplary. Food was delicious and desserts mouth watering. Will definitely be going to the Bell again. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Moved into the local vicinity and after trying out most of the other local pubs/restaurants in the area decided to visit last night for our first time. Sorry to say it was not a good experience after waiting at the bar for 15 minutes while others (obviously locals) were served 1st we decided to vacate with a bitter taste. Probably a good idea to have more staff on the bar in future and a polite 'be with you as soon as we can' rather than being ignored would be advisable.

We stayed close by in a lovely farmhouse, (whitchurch farm guest house )and were recommended to The Bell by our host .There were 2 menus , we went for the cheaper menu and when the food arrived we were gobsmacked ! We thought they had brought the a la carte menu to our table . The waitress said "would you like to see our happiness menu (dessert) , nobody ever cries when eating desert they only ever smile" , boy was she right ! OMG X

I've always received a warm welcome and friendly, efficient service at The Bell. Good selection of drinks and an excellent bar menu. I've not tried the restaurant yet, but intend to soon. Nice outside seating area overlooking fields - great in the summer.

Friendly and helpful from check in, through all our various dietary requirements for dinner, great shower, a quiet sleep and hearty breakfast that set us up for the day. One to return to with more of us next time when we are allowed.

Great pub to go for dinner, it is part of a chain which I was unaware of when I visited. Very attentive staff and clear explanation of following covid rules. The food was fab, and so was dessert. Definitely recommend!

Very pleasant evening in the bell for my father's birthday.
We were made to feel very welcome and served by terrific staff.
Great menu choice and excellent cooking and a fine selection of drinks. Fabulous Titanic plum porter was amongst the beer selection behind the bar.
It was lovely thanks for a fine evening.
