Stunning old building and interior - cafe has a good selection of light lunches - with stunning views over False Bay and Muizenberg beach
Azola and Rebecca and their team have excellent service. The tea and cake was delicious. Bookings for Under Milk Wood have gone very well and we may well be sold out for Friday's performance.
Nice function venue right at the sea. Loved the butternut and feta tarts
Wow wow wow. Go back in time to the grandeur of Cards Labia. Beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. Tasty food.
Jerome there was really helpful and took the time to show us around.
The place is lovely. The whole eating experience misses the mark completely. The fact that a sumptuous home converted into a restaurant etc serves burgers creates cognitive dissonance in ways i cannot explain. The fish and chips shack a few meters away serves this kinda food and in the right setting. This setting begs for sumptuous decadent food. Food that inspires, that provides a gasp of wonder, food that is reminiscent of lavish and creative fare. Big disappointment. A new chef has been appointed. Lets hope and pray that she can transform below par mediocrity to wonderment.
I only ever drive past here but it looks really nice from the outside
The new management is lovely and the cakes are splendid. You should definitely stop in for a tea and cake. (also the best scones in town)
False advertising on website. Many of the images used to advertise events are extremely old and they cannot provide the same service at present.
Romantic. Five star food. Especially if you get a room with a view
Undoubtably one of the most beautiful venues in Cape Town and Muizenberg. From the beautiful scenic views right down to the friendly staff members - this venue will not disappoint. It has all the elements to create a truly memorable occasion when visiting.
Fantastic place for celebrating special occasion with a group of people. Amazing view, takes you back in time, great food and friendly staff.
Beautiful place, definetly worth a visit. Feels like another era.
We had a cheese platter with croissants. Delicious! The place is worth a visit for the beautiful interior and the old world grace.
Family had a most wonderful Saturday lunch - the menu and food was exceptional! A pity they had run out ofour wine of cjoice for a second bottle. Puddings too were wonderful and barista made us lovely coffee.
And service was outstanding, staff really nice.
Needless to say the venue is incredibly beautiful, and the pianist definitely enhanced a memorable celebration. Many thanks to all.
A nice place for a special meal. Great views and good food.
Historical building the food is great got to speak with the chef, they have a top 5 ranked dessert menu, amazing view of the sea and great place to host parties.
Elegant dining/tea in just the most beautiful setting. Worth a visit just for the experience, food excellent too.
Always a treat. Stunning menu with decent portions, lovely views and ambience. Most enjoyable.
Went there for lunch.yesterday,.was greatly disappointed.
Building incredible, view spectacular but menu limited and food very average....had anticipated so much more. Been there, done it and wont go back.
Best coffee between Muizenberg and Kalk Bay. Highlight of my day
Always love breakfasting here! Menu quite varied with lots of enticing options. Today's visit made me want to go back to try the choices my friends made! Beautiful surroundings help enhance the meal too!
Very elegant classic place to eat out. Foods are good and priced well.
Fantastic for afternoon tea. Beautiful views delicious scones
This is a little gem in Cape Town that few people know about. Be transported to another era by the opulent, classical decor and grab some lunch or tea in the restaurant.
A piece of authentic Venice in Muizenberg. It is an experience to sit on the lawn having coffee and the best scones with jam and cream overlooking False Bay! A view that will etch itself on your brain and you will always return for more.
Wonderful venue! Beautiful decor. Lovely sea views. Nice food.
I got married there in April 2018 and the staff & venue were amazing. Highly recommend this as a venue for a special occassion celebration ( the events planners Tania & Rebecca are great)
Excellent food! Perfect place for a luncheon or high tea. Casa Labia also organize concerts and poetry recitals. There's an art gallery upstairs that exhibits prints.
tables on veranda have great sea views, visually great food but not exceptional taste, smallish portions; some attentive waitresses.
Beautiful venue with great food. Attended a wedding here and was very impressed. What an amazing view from a beautiful building.
There is no place like this in Cape Town. It's totally unique and worth a visit.
Beautiful setting and so interesting and we had a superb meal
Beautiful venue for my bachelorette. Gorgeous view and delicious food
Charming and sophisticated. What a lovely place for tea on a Sunday. There is a elaborately furnished banquet hall as well that can be booked out for events (including High Tea). The entire venue is decorated in Victorian era fashion, with an impressive collection of antique oil paintings on the wall. It's very reminiscent of the Mount Nelson Hotel. The waitresses are very friendly and I can definitely recommend the scones. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Excellent afternoon in a lovely venue. Great food. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Very beautiful venue for your wedding. Just make sure the wind ain't hectic
It was so special to be with friends in such a beautiful and unique Italian gallery like setting.
A very special whiskey and food pairing dinner in a spectacular Casa Labia.....it was our first , but certainly not our last.
Went to test the high tea after seeing the previous review and it was delicious. The chef Alex has revamped and improved everything under the new management team we invested in.
Beautifully set against the slopes of the Mountain and a stunning sea view in front. Good gourmet food.
Amazing food and top notch service. Recommend the "on toast"
Excellent service. Reception went out of it's way to make my booking easy. We went for High tea. It was amazing. Value for money and a private room with a view to kill of the muizenberg sea front. Service excellent. Come in at the right times and oh so nice to carry a conversation. Next time for sure. Parking was my only issue. Saturday day before Argus cycle and main road was packed
Enjoyed every minute of it. Brilliant service, the feel was great and the breakfast was even better.
A most enjoyable breakfast in superb surroundings and decor. The views from our table were also great. Highly recommended for a fine dining breakfast
Fabulous restaurant, setting and menu. The finest !
Always a pleasure to be in this magnificent spot...good food... excellent ambiance amongst the beauty of old world charm...best views over the ocean...
I love the vintage feel and beautiful paintings. Staff were amazing And high tea was wonderful
Very interesting to view at long last.
They currently have an Art exhibition upstairs, worth a visit.
The restaurant is lovely and there are two nice outside eating areas. Seems very popular.
Gorgeous find...magnificent partial museum with modern food and stunning sea views!
Just had tea and scones here which were great, but the menu looks delicious. The building is old and historic with a gallery attached
Very nice setting, but the food just doesn't reach the standard... Pity
The setting for an evening of summer jazz is unsurpassed, like stepping back in time to the gracious past.
Fun funky place for a weekend lunch. When booking do ask for a table with a view. And, there is a pianist who plays on the weekends - nice addition !
Service was very good, food was tasty. Cucina salad was great, esp the fresh edamame. My husband had the burger (2nd hand review alert !) and said it was only MEH. Very average, but we are spoilt for choice of great burgers in Cape Town.
Afterwards you can have a stroll upstairs in the print gallery.
Lovely venue, and good food but lacking in attention to detail. Errors detracted from service which would have made for a particularly good afternoon instead of a nice afternoon.
Very disappointed with our lunch, menu different from online, staff badly trained and unable to answer questions about the food. Grilled fish on a plate no garnish, lemon or tartar sauce offered. After a long waIt for the food it was different to what was requested. Will not go back.
A Muizenberg gem. If you want a table on the stoep, make sure to book ahead. Classic interior, great service and food.
Delightful and a lovely atmosphere for afternoon tea/coffee
The place is beautiful! You can sit inside and outside also. Coffee and cake nice, but lunch was a bit oily. Waiter was great!
High tea bitterly disappointing and over priced under new management. Staff fumbling from crises to crises. What was supposed to be a treat turned into a nightmare. Happy to add that I was offered a full refund a week later.
Fun to sit at, we got the virtually private front room with a window directly over looking over the sea which was lovely. Service and food were also great, the menu is varied and interesting and has vegan options.
Loved it...great tour with tour guide. And all the decadance
always a cut above because of the regal feel to the restaurant with it's stately furniture and decor. always a good food experience and well presented with attention to detail. I enjoy the feeling of being pampered.
