I took my guests there. I have to tell this first, the location, environment and personnel are great.
However, the food quality.. the worst. Fisherman platter was like an oil sponge. Mac&cheese was not good at all. If you are looking for good food go somewhere else.
Pulled up by boat with 3 friends...20 minute wait for seats(which was accurate).ordered 3 bowls of chowder one lobster bisque 1 whole clam appetizer and one whole clam dinner..was told by the waitress that this section is only for people who are ordering entrees. She walked away before we could even question her on it.. pretty disappointed considering the food was pretty good.
Great food, so-so service. Not the most customer friendly place which was a big change from previous visits. The first establishment in a very long time that won't let you taste a craft beer on tap.
One waiter, Cristina, was Great, but there is another one, a bartender girl who was a great reason not to ever go back
It's set up and looks like a basic raw bar , but prices like a high end restaurant!

As someone who lives in the Rocky Mountains, I normally avoid shellfish, but I figured, I had to have lobster while in Boston. The crab roll was delicious! Paired with the Barking Crab White Ale and it was perfection.
The Barking Crab was a great place to get good sea food! Was able to get a really quick and tasty meal for a good price and could look out on the water. It was not even that crowded after PAX East let out and a bunch of people were hungry for dinner. We were able to get in and out pretty quickly!
terrible host ... rude. the food very good but it damages the experience
stopped for lunch this past weekend and the food was fantastic. My husband said best clam chowder he has ever had. We also had crab dip and split both types for Lobster rolls (cold w/mayo and warm w/butter) highly recommend
The Barking Crab is a great little Seaport restaurant specializing in lobster, crab, another delicious Seafood plates... It is always hustling and bustling with a crowd of patrons during opening hours. The staff are extremely friendly. The Barking Crab is a great stop for locals and tourists alike.

Touristy a bit but great food on open air right on the water. Looks like a fun bar in the evenings. I had their shrimp dish and it was excellent.
Hands down the best crab and lobster experience for groups. You can taste the ocean I love it so fresh!!

a perfectly kitschy spot along the harbor. Food was as expected but the location, view and feel is what you go for. It was still a perfect Boston spot on a rainy day.

Went here with my coworkers during work training week. I d say it s the best place for lobster rolls!! I had the spicy one and it was great. Staff was super friendly. Wait-time was pretty long but it makes sense for a crowded place like this on the dock. I d go back again when I visit boston!
The crab cakes were extremely good. The lobster was wonderful and the grab legs were great. Very busy restaurant. Seems like there will always be a wait. But worth it if you love sea food
Clam chowder was delicious and affordable! The lobster roll seemed a little pricey, but we did enjoy sitting at the nice picnic tables in doors by the docks! Many options for classic bostonian seafood!
I adore this restaurant! They serve first-rate food, they have a rich menu, The chief cook in that restaurant is very experienced, I love a lot tasting all their food. The dishes are always tasty, the attitude towards the customers is helpful. I visit often this restaurant and I was never discontended. I recommend it with no hesitation.
Casual and relaxed atmosphere. Good selection of beers local and imported. Good for large groups.

Best bowl of chowder I've had in 50 years! Very high priced. Over a hundred bucks for 2 of us for lunch, but very cool place.
Great food, great drinks. Only two cons are the prices are extremely high for an extremely casual environment. With that being said paying well over $150 for two people they try and seat as many people together at picnic tables so you spend a lot of money to eat along with strangers.
Always a great experience. Despite a private event filling most of the space, we were seated quickly. The servers were very efficient!
Fun Atmosphere. Too pricy for what you get. Also, not happy with the American flag changed to a rainbow... unacceptable. Quit shaving gayness in our faces. I won't be back do to the disrespect of our flag.
Seafood done right. The city has grown around it but this lobster shack on a pier has survived. The whole belly clams are perfect. You can't go wrong with the lobster roll and steamers. ( Soft shell clams, Ipswich Clams) A beer will cap a perfect meal. You also get a pretty good view of the harbor and the city.
The male hostess was not very nice. The food was delicious. Our waiter was very accommodating.
If you're looking for a casual crab/seafood restaurant with great seafood this is the place. Our meal was delicious! It was pouring outside and the picnic tables under cover felt fun. The staff was attentive, the food was hot and the atmosphere was fun.
Was there this past summer and frankly, food was more for the money at Belle Isle in Winthrop. Outrageously priced. Want good seafood? Here is good but be prepared for the PRICE! $$$$$$$ Totally not worth the money!
Very expensive for the quality of food and service. Cool scenery and nice breeze. Coconut rice was good but the fish was dry.
Food was a bit over priced. Tasted good but not outstanding.
We had a group of 15 and had no choice but to sit at the bar. It was terrible. The music was loud more than 100 decibels. We had young children too, poor little ears.
Service was so-so.
Besides the location of the restaurant is great, I cannot think of a reason why people choose to go there.
I went in with a group of 12 and they seated us right at our reserved time. Service was great and food was great. Great music choice as well.

Great place. It took some time to wait in line but it was worth it. Inside there is a vibrant atmosphere, big groups and a bit noisy (of talking, not loud music).
The staff are nice and the food is great, we took around 5 mains and a bit of extras for 8 people and it was more than enough.
Every main and every sandwich include fries, coleslaw salad. Great chowder as well.
Highly recommended for dinner.
