Jammed into a tiny room shoulder to shoulder with 30 other people with no fan, waited for 10 minutes without the tour starting and decided to just leave. The smell of other travelers without ventilation in such close quarters wasn't worth it.
Fun place! A tour that walks you around and you watch actors act out historical information. Half haunted house and half performance art. Lots of audience participation. It's an interesting way to learn about history. The scenery and the actors are great!
Great experience with historical comparisons from when Amsterdam became a port city, performed by actors with a high empathy factor. Many unexpected situations that increased the expectation level even further. Very good show.

I've now had 2 visits to the dungeon and it's just awesome!
The decoration, the costumes, the actors and the tour are very successful and convince until the end.
You get scared to a reasonable extent and is really bearable for everyone, so not totally the horror;) and is accompanied by a lot of humor.
However, it could become really torture for those claustrophobic.
Suitable for couples and groups of 4. You should be able to speak English to some extent. The tour lasts about an hour and at the end you can buy photos for about 15-35 .
Be sure to pay attention to online offers, you can really save a lot!
So off to the dungeon and try to survive; D
I was hoping to learn more about the history behind the events acted.
Be aware that this is a highly interactive experience, and you will almost certainly be picked on at some point. It's not terribly informative as a "museum", but as a series of interactive art scenes it's quite fun. The finale is genuinely scary.

One of the most fun things to do in amsterdam. 1. Buy your ticket in one first and with a deal. We did madam tusauds and dungen, the dungen being 100x better. 2. Expect to wait in the beginning as they do have to wait for a show to finish before the next begins. 3. Don't spoil it with cameras or phones 4. Get stuck in, play along you will have a lot more fun than you thought.
I was also in Hamburg in the dungeon and was very excited. Some things were the same but by no means everything. Very cool and very funny by the spontaneity of the visitors.
Very nice job! Nice and fun scary with each other and you are guaranteed to talk about it. It takes about 2 hours, I thought, and the price is a bit expensive, but with a discount it is definitely recommended!
Fantastic. Nice experience, you will be super attracted. Nice, good actors, beautiful spaces. Have two minor hiccups. Too bad the pictures are on the expensive side and when you enter there is a toilet but if you have survived these fantastic, sometimes scary rooms, a toilet at the end is no superfluous luxury

Partner and I had nothing to do as it was raining so we thought we would go do this. Was really nice, good acting, I didn't find it scary but my partner did. Will be trying the one in London too, I've heard its little longer and perhaps I will be frightened.

TIPS
Book in advance if you wish to skip the lines, OR visit on a Sunday afternoon when there isn't so many visitors
NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED. It is not terrifying but very jumpy. Special consideration for those of weak hearts or pregnant ladies so they do cater for them so you will not miss out
MOBILITY - lots of steps down and you do have a lot of walking around. I am unsure if the cater for people with reduced mobility so I cannot comment further than this.
CHILDREN - it is good fun for the kids however may be a little scary for children that are younger. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult so do not send them in alone
Visited as a foursome a few weekends ago. I found it really fun and jumpy and although they play out lots of interesting things they are also quite informative. The staff keep in character the whole way round and are great at enhancing the experience.
The door staff were funny and also played a character so your experience starts on entry.
I will not spoil the experience for you but please get yourself down and have a visit.

Other than expected. My niece found it mostly disappointing, had hoped that it would be scarier. Although the mirror maze is creepy!
Really interesting and fun experience, recommend fans of history and those who like a little scare.
I have walked past this so many times, but never realized what a nice 'haunted house' is here. One of my best friends took me here for a fun night out. You will be taken through several rooms through the time of how the courts and punishments were dealt with in Amsterdam in the past. The actors take their role very seriously and give you real entertainment. They can also really scare you! At the end of the tour you can enjoy a beer in an old school Amsterdam pub. Highly recommended! Tip: you can check holiday auctions to see if you can get cheaper entrance tickets!

Me and my sister had such a good time here, if you have been to the one in London and enjoyed that I would definitely recommend this one, the staff were fantastic and really got involved, happy I wasn't picked to participate though but happy to watch others get involved. So many things to do in Amsterdam but I would still give this place a visit
Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Even if the cast did pick on me, although I did play them up lol. Would recommend, however, if you've visited other dungeons from the same company then you will have already heard some of the scripted gags
Just meeh. I would say would be interesting for child 8-12 years old. Funny/interactive enough and kinda scary as it tries to walk you though the history of Amsterdam. Great if you go but you are not missing anything.

Really good, the atmosphere is top and the actors very good
They go through the history of the Netherlands with the VOC tyranny, witch burning, accusational trials, and a few other events that were part of the histpry of the time. Our group did get put in a jail cell to wait for 40 minutes after getting checked in, which added to the authenticity, but prevented me from seeing other things in town before they closed. Touristy, but fun.

But for the price / finish / how long you are inside, it is very disappointing.
