Sorry ... I found it very boring. I had hoped for more. Ghost Train for children is more exciting. I was disappointed.
Super fun attraction about various horror stories that are all true and historically correct and took place in Amsterdam. The 12 shows in total are set with beautiful sets and convincing actors. Even thought about creating the right scents for every show. It is located in a fantastic old building in the heart of Amsterdam, not far from Dam Square. Tip: buy your entrance tickets online in advance for a hefty discount on the rate and guaranteed entrance on busy preferred days.
Really good fun.. audience participation is big here so expect to get involved!!
Wasn't sure what to expect but had a really enjoyable time. They put my wife in a cage, which made my day. I would of given 5 stars but they let her out again. Pictures were very expensive at the end.
We had some good fun here. Everything looks really good, you can see they put a lot of effort to it. Also the acting is well done and enough good scare and fun moments. For sure recommend it!
Super entertaining, good variety of comedy and horror, nice staff
Too scary for me cause I'm a wimp, my mates loved it though 10/10.
Went to this place coincidently on Halloween whilst visiting for a long weekend in Ams.
Overall Id recommend if you fancy a bit of a laugh. It s a live theatrical immersive walk through where you re taken through different historic periods and exposed to some of the sights and scenes you d have been back in the day.
Giving this 4* - I felt it could ve been a lot scarier!
Nice museum! The historical facts are "touchable" in a fabulous show. Cool actors!!!
Many similar scenes with London Dungeon, about half. No spectacular attractions.
The BIGEST compliments for the first actor who explained the rules to us, did the introduction and pointed us to the lifts. We were with a group who had been drinking and this was clearly noticeable. The actor saw and heard this too, asked us separately if we had problems with this and spoke to the group about this. He also passed this on to the rest of the actors, so that we were able to enjoy (almost) undisturbed. Thanks for this !!!
Completely impressed with their performance ! Loved it
It's not too scary. If you do not speak English or Dutch, you can not understand what is described.
Funny as hell for mostly people but can be scary as hell too !!!
The most welcoming staff and a fun experience. But be warned, the tour takes an hour and 20 minutes.
This is a must whilst in Amsterdam! Such a fun activity! The actors are great and it's fun and scary all at the same time!
Amazing trip, learnt alot about the history. Characters were hilarious and had so much fun and made my first time in Amsterdam memorable
Really good actors with spooky costumes, awesome effects and noises, scary factor pure! It is more or less a horror tour through the brutalities of the Middle Ages
Terribly exciting and good experience, I recommend :)!
Slow pulled ... little excitement, unlike the preacher.
1 occasion if it is raining ....
Such a great show with amazing actors. Pretty terrifying :D
I did this with my mom and it was a great experience
Thoroughly enjoyable, my partner who loves horror really enjoyed it. A good brief overview of the gruesome of history of Amsterdam anr the surrounding area.
There are a lot of stairs and walking, i was warned before entering as i have a walking aid. Therefore it might not be accessible to some walking aids such as wheelchair, plus the bathroom is down a flight of stairs.
Surprisingly fun thanks to the actors. A museum in a live action format
Although the settings hint of a small budget BUT the actors are great. Loud, clear and fierce.
Although there are some information that gets lost in the absences of an explanatory text, the visuals and live action scenes kind of makes up for it.
We really enjoyed it, need to know English to understand and also that the players appeal to you. Players from G-to-G! I was able to startle my husband less ... but I screamed and laughed at the same time and my husband laughed (mostly at me .....);)
Very nice, generally well acted (gotta love)
Good and fun guidance
Excellent experience and we enjoyed alot.very scary and fun.
Awesome! Nice creepy and a lot of scare moments. The people who work there do their job very well and sometimes scare you very much, super fun! Nice creep and laugh
The production is quite impressive, but it was a show was n't that interesting to us
Super friendly staff and very good actors who also speak English perfectly. The program is a little over 60 min. and you will be really entertained. As a student you get a few euros discount (price: 20 ) at the checkout, just as if you had booked online.
Amazing experience, you get to participate in the show. The actors are amazing, they portray their characters with passion and make you feel like it'd real. It is very scary and fun at the same time. You go inside in groups but they make sure there is room for everyone to enjoy the show and the locations. It is very dark inside, there are toilets and a souvenir shop at the end of the tour as well as a complementary drink served at the end of it. We had so much fun and would recommend to all our friends to pay a visit when in Amsterdam. They're right off the Rokin metro station shop. Tours are in english and the actors speak it perfectly. Unfortunately it is not suitable for people on wheelchairs as there is a number of stairs and steps leading down into the dungeon
Fantastic place to visit. Slightly scary. Hosts are awesome.
The Amsterdam Dungeon is an attraction that is certainly not only meant for tourists. It shows a part of the history of Amsterdam in a playful way. They do this by replaying stories and situations from the past and involving the visitors. The whole is worthwhile for anyone who is too anxiously laid out. Just do it once! And as a tip; buy your tickets online that is cheaper.
Honestly, in my opinion, this is an amateur show. Also, be prepared that the show is entirely in English, those who do not know well should not go. In general, it s not scary, even in places funny and fun. Actors play well, the program involves the viewer. In conclusion, for me, if you DO NOT visit, you will not lose much.
Nice alternation between scary and funny. Nicely finished interior and good interaction with the public. A bit expensive though
Super experience! The actors and the sets immerse you in an interactive immersion with some passages of the history of Amsterdam! Afraid and crazy laughs are at the rendezvous, attention is in English.
Very nice and educational experience. Great that a piece of VOC history is also central. O.a. how sailors were recruited in Amsterdam and how it must have been on a VOC ship.
Great place to visit done it 3 times now and never get bored of it
Geil cool horny !!!!
The advantage of course is the English language to master!
It is divided into two groups where English is spoken.
The actors are just the hammer authentic, real and very good!
The rooms are well furnished, right to fear a few times that an old church was pulled up to create a great backdrop.
Finally, there is a shop where you can buy souvenirs but also photos that were made during the tour!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Actors all really good guys, they speak exclusively in English during the show so if you don't understand the language well I don't recommend it.
Path done very well, a little to be renewed but excellent
This is the biggest tourist trap in Amsterdam and my advice is to stay away from it.
Overpriced: For 18 euros, this is just a waste of money. You can normally get a deal on Groupon for 8 euros per person, which pinches less since less money went down the drain.
The attraction itself: Once you get through the long queues, you will be asked to wait in a cell, which is nog scary at all. Then you are taken a fee floors down in a lift and through a few rooms where the artists try and scare you. Nothing against the people who work here, they try their best. However the entire place is too lame and not scary, even for kids.
Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place, there are way better places in Amsterdam to spend your time in.
A nice place can both have a good laugh and be scared. Hosts are incredibly empowered with the role played, which makes you feel as if you were really in the situations described. Interesting experience I encourage everyone to visit this place. Personally, I will never forget the events of that day.
Best experience ever, my kids and I hade a lot of fun.
Great
But no French version
Renewed .. Nice new accents. Personally, I do not think much about it, but I'm just not really into this type of event. Nice as a company outing. A nice combination of me make dinner or lunch with one of the nearby brasseries. Call them for an appointment.
One of the best dungeons
A break from the dungeons norm, the staff were truly interactive, not just stuck to their scripts, better than Edinburgh or London, although there's no drop zone ride at the end and surprising for Amsterdam, not boat ride!
What an amazing experience.
This is more than worth the entrance fee.
House of Horrors, but everything is recreated in a magnificent way, I am very pleased, you must visit it!
If you do not speak English, do not go in for nothing. Then you find yourself staring blankly left and right, not understanding anything.
Definitely worth a total surprise nicely put together
So much fun!! I have done it in London and now here too. Book in advance on the day. Last one at 5pm. I bought photo package for between 15-25 really cool photos. Lots of fun !! Goes down 3 stories below ground level great actors and actresses. Free beer or soft drink/water at bar which is really tasty.
It was interesting, but unfortunately my English is not that good and so I didn't understand everything
