This makes history fun!
English or Dutch tour.
I have been there 5 times now .. every time with another group.
And never encountered any disappointment.
I am never talking about souvenir shops, I am always bored.
But this one is fun!

This is more like a theatre than a place you will be scared. So I would recommend not to have big expectations on that matter but their acts are really great

Entertaining hours at the Dungeon. Recommend not to go there with children younger than 8yo.

You can feel the passion every actor delivers. It's a cool experience to share with some friends. But: It's not really scary. Sometimes you think that they'll do horrible stuff, but then it's already over. Perfect for kids, not so perfect for everyone who watches horror movies regularly.

On the face ... We thought it would be scary or interesting but instead we got a tourist trap: one big boredom, an hour and a half wasted queue, 25 euros and an hour's wasted inside ..
In addition, we were offered to upgrade the ticket in 5 euros (25 instead of 20) and get beer in their pub. beer and nothing ... worked for us. Caution

Not bad. Some effects are good. Novel. The beer at the end is great. Not sure what tho.

A guy in our group got picked 3 times in a row to be tortured. Great laugh.

Bought this together with the wax measuem visit and so was very reasonable. On its own probably not the best value for money. The actors really enjoyed scaring the guests and a word of warning small child would be very afraid by it so I'd say only suitable for teens and adults.

The dungeon unfolds as a couple of role played scenarios in which the audience (you enter in groups of ~10 people) is often asked to participate in fun ways. Despite the name it is not overly scary and suitable for everyone. Even the "faint of heart" and "horror is not for me" people should be more than fine here and can expect to have a good time. Alternatively if you are looking for a truly bone shaking and horrifying experience and this is the only reason you came, you might end up a bit disappointed. Overall it is very entertaining, engaging and definitely worth a visit!

After reading the reviews we thought lovely we will enjoy this. Honestly I'm really glad we didn't pay full price for it. We waited in a room for 20 minutes for it to start. There was a few funny bits and maybe 2 scary bits. It really didn't live up to the fantastic reviews it's gotten. I wouldn't recommend at all

The tour was of good quality, although not as long or as entertaining as the London one.

We got assigned to an English-speaking group. After waiting in a room for about 15 mins (after the tour had commenced) we were mixed up with Dutch visitors. After going through 3 rooms in which the actors were speaking Dutch we complained and were told to wait until we joined an English group. However, the sour taste of their mistake and ignorance really shut down our initial enthusiasm to visit the Dungeon.

I usually do not write reviews, but their attitude and lack of organisation made it necessary.

Entertaining and theatrical. Fun experience for teenagers and adults. Not recommended for persons with mobility problems as a lot of the tour requires you to navigate down stairs and walk along paths that are pitch black. Based on historical happenings in Amsterdam, however more about the theatre than the history. English tours available

Was worth the visit Is pretty creepy and made with attention to detail

We expected this place to be a bit kitschy and silly, but it turned to be a ton of fun. My wife was accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake, and we really enjoyed the "mirror maze." Would definitely recommend!

Loved it, no doubt 10 out of 10. The actors were on point, the lighting, sound, everything was just fantastic! I'd advise every person who visits Amsterdam to go here. Especially couples.

Absolutely amazing - if you have Madame Tussauds tickets you can get a discount on the tickets for the dungeon.

After the Hamburg Dungeon the Amsterdam Dungeon was tuned; Tickets purchased online in advance; Settlement problem-free. English tour participated; this should be the English language skills; Group size borderline. Gruselgarantie (except for the Hartgesonnten) given.

A terrifying experience for the scared .. It was a great adventure

Fun tour which brings you through a bit of Dutch history. You walk through a series of miniature plays with the audience playing a role. Sometimes funny, something scary but very entertaining! Brilliant actors!!

It is quite good the actors live the role but it is not scary if it makes you laugh.

Great experience to learn about Amsterdam of old. I recommend going at least once it's scary and very entertaining.

We bought combi ticket for Madame Tussads, Dungeons and Canal ride from Tours and Tickets for good price. Never buy tickets at counter as its very costly not worth. Toilets has to be used the beginning of tour later its not allowed. This tour is like fun and preferred for adults if you take kids below 10 then they are fine but you are responsible. The tour is like you will be taken to one room and there will be someone available there and will do some kind of act explaining about tortures and may involve you also. After one room the whole group is moved to other room. Last group allowed is at 7 pm. The graphics and sounds are really good. The sounds will make you feel that everything is real. If you are scared then request them and they will let you out from emergency door. In the last room you will get something to drink and then you are out.

You should be able to speak English ... Therefore difficult for older people. Otherwise very entertaining.

Super fun entertainment! Players try very hard to have a good time. They are very good at their role. The only downside was the part where you could view the photos. Not very inviting.

Great themed show. Worth a trip, They try to sell you pictures at the end. You can bargain them down to lower prices than the initial so keep that in mind.

amazing and stoning historical place and modern on the other hand. full of places to see , a lot of restaurants and coffee places to take a rest in between, incredible view and special kind people all over

Incredible city worth knowing, especially as they built the buildings.

A good amount of scare, with a balance of history, the actors are good, the story line is woven with historical context. Not recommended for young children, there were some 20 somethings that seemed under some level of distress.

Great attraction, a walk through Amsterdam's creepy history with a lot of role playing with real live actors. Was a great deal of fun but the group was too large and some of the rooms were a bit boring.
Would add more info about real historic events (like in the London dungeon), but overall a great way of spending an hour or so.

Completely waste of money and time. For the 10 years old it is ok but for the adult is too boring. I completely don t recommend it to anyone!
