Nice with friends. Especially if you've had a drink.

A nice interactive theater show with a lot of humor, had hoped that it would be a lot narrower but then it would not have been for all ages.

The Amsterdam Dungeon was opened in 2006 at a cost of 7.5 million within the historic church, in an attempt to return history to 500 years to return to dark Dutch history through an interactive adventure, specializing in attractions such as Madame Tussauds. Short accompanied by sound, smell and visual effects of historical scenes such as torture, plague workshops and anatomy in Dutch and English

It was a very nice experience. Great actors make the experience very real. It is like interactive play. You are watching a play while also being an actor in it. My favorite was the pirate at the end. Absolutely hilarious. Must do when in Amsterdam

Adapted for wheelchairs! I had a really good moment, it is something fun to do. If you don't understand english, you will miss like 70% of the show, for everything is told in english, of course. The employees are not allowed to touch you, so do not be afraid to go!

Since we did not want to wait an hour for the English version, we were in Dutch version. Therefore we did not understand much. But it was worth an experience. If you are there, you should go there once. There were also small children, which would not be okay for me.

I was absolutely convinced. It was great and you get involved.
However, you should be able to speak English well, otherwise you will not be able to follow the story well. The stories and information are interesting.

Boring and time consuming. We had to wait for almost 15' in a cage, standing, for the thing to start... Only the last part was actually good.

Good place to visit, but if you don't know English I don't recommend it

Fun afternoon was had, even ended up buying the souvenir photos. Well worth the admission price. It was onyk my self and wife, but I could see this being a fun place to go in larger groups as well.

Beautiful, fun, and lives up to the image. Waiting time certainly not long and good entry. Also always different "shows" so definitely worth (re) visiting!

Worth it!! It's the most intriguing show and suited for all ages. Tip: To save some bucks buy the combination ticket for Madame Tussauds and the dungeon. And prefer buying them online to save even more.

Our fourth dungeon, this time in Amsterdam and in English, was a lot of fun. All employees are super friendly and pay attention to the hygiene concept. The groups are currently only half the size and are divided into four categories. All visitors are involved in the story, so you should be able to speak enough English to avoid having to ask 2-3 times.

An enjoyable experience, not so scary but you will have a good time.

Learning about Amsterdam's history but also scaring

We had so much fun here. It was funny and scary. I wouldn't recommend for small children. If you're deciding between madame tussauds and here then chose this place.

Like the other dungeons too. Unfortunately, no cultural / historical background. Since the dungeon in Hamburg was better, so the deduction point. No German tour available. The English tour was not a problem, as mostly decent / understandable English was spoken.

A really great experience if you are into wild adrenaline spikes and watching others get scared. Probably the main selling point is its location, in the middle of the city. It is well made, with a nice course and actors that are willing to make a joke and who you can shamelessly roast during your trial. It also is 1 hour long, which some people might find too long, though I personally enjoy. The rooms are clean, and each have good, lighting and good light shows, with strobe lighting, flashes, and complete darkness when the lights are off. Obviously 15 meter high flames would be cool, but for the location it is very good.
I would recommend for people above the age of 12.

Super nice set up. Very laughed and crackled. The actors finish it off. The only downside is that not every actor is as good.

Best acting ive seen in a Dungeon, brilliant staff, caters for languages other than English, shop at tge end is incredibly cheap for a Dungeon!

This is the second time we visited this place in about 7 months, and I had huge reservations thinking it would be boring as it is mostly dramatisations. I am happy to say that I was very wrong as it was brilliant.
We did the M Tussauds and Amsterdam dungeon combo and it really was a worthwhile expense. $90 for both places for 2 adults and 2 kids.

A really good experience is worth every euro to buy a ticket deal at Dutch Groupon is desirable

It was an amaazing experience, scary but funny as well, we had so much fun and the actresses where soo excellent.

I'm sure it would have been pretty fun if I was a kid being toted around by my parents but as an 18 year old American, the experience was really just a lot of money for mild entertainment. Not too extraordinary, to be honest.

The Amsterdam Dungeon (Amsterdam dungeon) is an attraction in the city of Amsterdam on the Rokin opened in September 2005, housed in the Nieuwezijds Chapel. The Dungeon is an interactive tour through 500 years of Amsterdam's history with the help of 10 actors and various shows and visual effects.

Otherwise a nice experience

Attended here with my girlfriend. We found a off-peak ticket from one of the Tickets&Tours which was 15 each, entrance after 1700.
This is really good experience and provides plenty of scares/jumps throughout, they also provide a little history aswell throughout the tour.

The tour took approx 90mins going through various sections and each section was played by a different actor in a new scenery. They like to perform audience participation which was quite amusing.

At the end you are provided with a free drink, which can either be Water, Coke or a Beer.

Highly recommended, the actors have humor and remain good in their own role

Had a great time actors done a brilliant job very scary for my husband he's not able for all that so funny for me as I love it had a great time really enjoyed the experience :-)

Another thing about amsterdam that i have to say that it was amazing! Sceary and funny, with some historical informations about Amsterdam. I felt like I was inside, of the horror movie.

I loved it! Sometimes it's scary but most of the times, it's really funny. Everybody is part of the story. The atmosphere and the place are great! I really enjoyed it

The last admission is at 17:00 and on the tickets its written that they are closing at 18:30. We were there few minutes after 17:00 and we couldn't get in... I left three tickets in a hostel reception - maybe someone will enjoy it ;)

A truly unique place to relive the inquisition with all its distortions through a path between prisons, ships, laboratories, mortuary chambers and courts ... All seasoned by a truly thrilling staff of actors ... ATTENTION if nn you know english try to stay as far away from the "skit" as possible because the actors for each stage take a couple of people and involve them, ergo to avoid international defecation figures try not to let you choose ...

Who knew being trapped in a small cage would be fun

Nice attraction to visit, especially in bad weather. Fun decors and funny stories are combined with unexpected moments.

It's not an ordinary place. It's both scary and gloomy, and a touch of mysticism is felt. Everything is very beautiful and atmospheric. If you are in Amsterdam, be sure to visit this place. It's more interesting than going for sex shops) We had a map of Amsterdam and therefore the entrance was free. Do not go to lunch (about 12-13 hours) A lot of people and thrift.

Was a very unique experience, was actually very amusing to me, but frightening to others. Truly recommening this attraction!

Very beautiful scenery and the acting is good. However no real fears. A lot of waiting.

Good entertainment. Try to go off-peak for the extra scare factor.

A must for anyone traveling to Amsterdam. The actors put a lot of effort into trying to involve everyone in the happenings. For those who have tried horror films, it is rather fun to see how others are frightened. I highly recommend it.

Cool dungeon and its worth money. The actors all speak good English and are easy to understand. It is recommended to buy the tickets in advance online, then you save yourself a few euros. I pull off a star, because you have to wait in spite of e-tickets in the very normal queue and time has no advantages. Another because the photo session is annoying. Everyone should take a picture at the entrance (they refused thankfully because we would not buy it anyway). At the end you come into a room that is exclusively for the purchase of the photos and there is no exit for now. You have to listen to the short lecture and wait until the "real" exit opens. Pure waste of time!
