Service was bad, food wasn't that great, little variety. I wouldn't order the steak again even if it was $10.00. The only thing I enjoyed was the french fries, cooked vegetables and the smokey sweet potato soup. Other than that the food is over priced. I can say I wasn't impressed.

$11.50 for a soup is ridiculous!

Please support the fine ownership at the Aberdeen Tavern during these trying times. We have eaten there often and continue, to support local. Please do so as well. Their food and attention to customer experience is excellent. You won't be disappointed!

1st visit. Decor/atmosphere nice and sort of upscale for a pub style. Went for Family Day lunch. Brunch menu was available. The food coming out of the kitchen looked great on all meals. Had the mac and cheese, burger, and tostada rancheros. All very good. Waitress was excellent. Would repeat.

Walked in w no reservations on a Sunday afternoon Family Day weekend. Nice table for 4. Good Relay coffee, breakfast items ordered incl Eggs Benny, omelettes, empanadas. Starter scones, jalapeno/cheese, made on site, delicious. Salads on the side of our mains - fresh ingredients, nice simple vinaigrette dressing. Bright clean dining room, free parking on weekends next door. Washrooms in basement not accessible although dining room easily accessible on street level.

Excellent service. The menu was variable and included vegan options for myself! A little on the expensive side, but you get good quality, well presented food. Definitely recommend for brunch!

The food here is outstanding (better everytime I visit). The drinks (cocktails AND mocktails) are delicious. Great service. Pictured here is the Roast Chicken Supreme and bread with dips (avocado, olive tapinade, hummus and pork rillette).

Delicious food! Went here with my family, and I had the burger. It came with a massive serving of fries, and a giant burger. Food was super tasty, and I will definitely be coming back here again.

Delicious delicious delicious! I got the cheesecake stuffed French toast and was blown away. I thought I was not going to be full after eating it because it looked kind of small in my eyes, but I was stuffed after. Patrick was our server and he was awesome! Super funny guy, personable, and was fast.

I ve tried their other menu items and they are fantastic as well.

Parking is horrible though. Their parking lot is TINY! Be careful in there because it is so tight, making it easy to hit /rub against another car. Don t get me wrong though, finding parking is worth the struggle the food is that good!

This is a solid breakfast spot. Not cheap but certainly worth it. Quality is incredible and the menu satisfies my brunch craving but with a much desired twist of ingenuity.

Service from the kitchen can be slow, both times I've been my waiter said the kitchen would be delayed. Other than that, this place is wonderful.

We came upon this place by word of mouth for this family birthday. This will not be our last visit. Great atmosphere, fantastic menu options and great service. This is an attractive restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. Prices are mid-range and the portions more than adequate. We did experience a couple of minor problems given the cream for the coffee was off and the initial cup of coffee was lukewarm. Subsequent refills were hot and frequent. Parking can be a problem so be prepared to find a side street. I would not rush back as the choice of restaurants at this price point are many and some less expensive for similar offerings. That said, we enjoyed ourselves and will return one day.

Went for brunch as a group of three friends. Server was super friendly and professional. Food was amazing and reasonably priced for the quality and taste. Has a vegetarian menu which I loved and makes going out for brunch here an easy decision. Can't wait to come back!

Service great. Atmosphere very intimate. Good crowds come here. Food quality is great and tasty but portions can be a little bigger for the price, but i guess the quality makes up for that.

It was a cold Sunday morning in Ancaster when my boyfriend, his sister and myself decide to go for brunch at Aberdeen Tavern. We called ahead because we assumed many people had the same idea as us. The host informed us that there was plenty of tables available. We arrived at a half empty restaurant and a host with little to no idea what was going on. She told us that the restaurant was fully booked with only space available at the bar. We agreed to sit at the bar even though there was over half the restaurant empty. We were greeted by the bartender who had a bit of an attitude during the entire brunch service. We he realised that I was not ordering alcohol or coffee seemed to be annoyed. My boyfriend s coffee had grounds on the entire bottom of the cup, the bartender looked at the cup did not apologize, poured him another cup of coffee in a different cup. We shared the cherry chocolate scone which was fantastic, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The scone was served warm with tons of butter on the side. We were asked to move down the bar to accommodate other guests sitting beside us, even though half the restaurant was still empty. We sensed a bit of an attitude coming from our bartender when our water jug would be empty quite often throughout the service. He smacked the bottom of the jug and said, ok once again after the third time we drank the entire jug. I ordered the Tostada Rancheros which was great, lots of fresh flavours and a creamy lime sauce on top. The black beans were great and the wrap was crunchy. Unfortunately, the salad had basically no dressing on top which was kind of a downfall. My boyfriend had the cheesecake French toast which was delicious! I wish I ordered that instead. When it came down to paying the bill my boyfriend and I paid for our meal and his sister paid for herself. I tipped $5.00 in cash for a 36.00-dollar meal with tax. He gave me an awkward look and did not say thank you. He clearly wanted a bigger tip, but the service was not up to par. We left the Aberdeen Tavern after 1 hour of crappy service, good food, and a half empty fully booked restaurant.

Pricey but delicious. Had the vegetarian ravioli, seemed like a small portion but it was more than filling and was the best tasting ravioli I've ever had. And I'm not even vegetarian! So worth it

I never give 5 star ratings.. but this time I had to.
I loved Aberdeen Tavern as a favorite restaurant pre covid. Great flavours, great menu options, everything always done just right, so tasty and in a beautiful space with super people. Then covid struck... and Aberdeen has allowed me to bring a little bit of their brightness into my elderly parent's lock down.. on Mother's Day for brunch and this week dinner for my father's 87th birthday.. both times they received the carefully prepared packaged meals delivered "contact less" with glee, opening all the pieces to unveil a meal which they savoured down to the last drop. The brunch with beet cured salmon, fresh scones and mimosas; the dinner with salad, crab cake, steak and brown butter cake with berries and a candle(!) and a nice Pinot Grigio... I have heard about every bite :) My father who never has much of an appetite these days says it was the BEST steak he has ever eaten. Thank you Aberdeen Tavern for doing what you do best, especially during such challenging times. I can't wait to be able to visit in person again. Stay well!

My girlfriend and i were refused service because i am physically unable to wear a face mask..employee who i spoke with was very rude! I even requested to sit on the patio intentionally knowing some people are uncomfortable with the whole mask thing. I will not be returning after the way i was spoken to.. very disappointed to be discriminated against for having a physical disability!!! It seems like the tiniest bit of authority has gone to some peoples heads!

My bridesmaids planned my bridal shower at The Apartment at the Aberdeen Tavern this past weekend, and they couldn t have picked a more perfect space! The venue on the second floor is absolutely gorgeous and bright with beautiful big wood harvest tables. It fit our group of 22 perfectly, and the brunch buffet looked AND tasted amazing! The vegan, vegetarian and gluten free guests were SO impressed with the meals they got, and the presentation was beautiful. Our server/hostess, Sherry, was awesome and made the experience even better. I would absolutely recommend this space for any event, and I will definitely be back soon to try out the restaurant!

Food was good. A bit pricey for the service we received. Menu is quite limited during Covid. We would not have chosen this restaurant, but It was a birthday celebration. A group of 9 people at two tables. Server insisted on splitting the bills at the end of meal and it took a couple of try s to get it right so we had to wait a while. Server was polite but I felt like he should have written orders down and he would have got it right the first time. We won t rush back. Go to The French instead, been there several times with no complaints!

My family held a wedding shower in the private room upstairs of this venue. Very lovely. Food and service was good. Our only complaint was the room temperature, very warm. When I spoke to our server she stated air conditioner was at capacity setting. People were very visably warm.

Nothing brings people together like great food. Incredibly delicious! Enjoyed fish tacos, sweet potatoe pierogies, beet salad & spaghetti carbonara. Topped off the evening with Creme brulee.

Special night! Recent news from Waikiki of our childrens engagement!! Perfect setting. Abby & Pepe thank you for excellent service especially with the Italy imported Prosecco that brother Michael arranged as a surprise. Thank you for making this happy occasion a night to remember.

Dinner here last night for my GF s bday. Staff were warm and attentive, food was great, and the cocktails were amazing. Had a few small requests and the Aberdeen went above and beyond. New fave spot in Hamilton. Thanks for a great night.

We have been many times to the Aberdeen and every time we go, the service is incredible, and the care they put into the food shows up in every Dish. We will continue to go back for an experience! Thank you and Happy New Year!

On my 2nd visit. I got the the French Toast a second time and shared a Turkey Benny (that was their weekend special then) with my boyfriend. Both dishes were amazing and our server who worked the bar while we ate was amazing.Overall, this is a great place to try for brunch. The price is fair for the quality they serve and on par with the other brunch places of Hamilton. I was also informed they have great dinner options as well!

Bench seats and chairs at a table are not all the same height - poor seating. Either too high to too low. Had dinner with my parents and they looked like kids sitting across from me. Either way, good food but can't stand eating in. Not comfortable.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner at the Aberdeen Tavern. This was our first time there, but not the last. The waiter was pleasant and efficient, but the food....what else can I say besides it was fabulous! My husband and I are both foodies and our expectations were greatly exceeded. While I have had crabcakes many times before, never once have I ever tried the innovative pairing of crabcakes with shaved pears and kale. The flavours were exceptional. My husband also enjoyed his arugula salad; again, it was like nothing we had ever had before. The mains (roast duck breast and cioppino) were outstanding. Very small issues: the place was very noisy (I guess that is a sign that the restaurant is popular) and it is quite dim. The prices are a little on the high side, but it is a high-end restaurant. As I said, minor issues; I'm just noting this because I feel I have to say something a little negative in order for the review to be taken seriously. If you haven't already, I urge you to try out the Aberdeen Tavern!

Group of 25 rented the upstairs for a 40th ...and 1 server (not even close to enough) ..who waited till the drink order was large enough to make it worth her wile to do a trip downstairs to the main bar . Long waits for drinks .And i was cut off when i asked why the service was so slow .lol cut off for being aggressive..she felt threatened...omg ...wont go back ever!!!

Had such a wonderful time tonight at Aberdeen Tavern! Took a friend for her birthday, Pepe took great care of us and she felt very special.

The food was FANTASTIC (the Buffalo Cauliflower was so good we ordered another one). Generous portions, elegant comfort food at a reasonable price point.

The staff is friendly, outgoing and warm. The hostess, other servers and managers popped by to chat and we loved it. Beautifully appointed - Definitely not your average Tavern.

Thank you Pepe and the Aberdeen staff! We ll see you soon.
