Was really disappointed with this place. Saturday brunch was just bad. Food was bland and cold. Hashbrowns are very mediocre. Toast was burnt. Sausage was clearly the grocery store variety. Partner had pulled pork eggs benny, and while good, was quite cold. Atmosphere was WAY too elitist for us. Definitely not a causal breakfast (except the food was very causal / way mediocre) - people were dressed up and drinking champagne... Might consider another trip here at dinner time but very cautiously. I would recommend Mattson & Co for an outstanding brunch at an identical price point in same area.

Outstanding service. Food was spot-on. Classy enough for a date or a business lunch but also wouldn't hesitate going for a casual burger.

Nice ambience for sure. I ve been a few times for brunch. Unfortunately I felt the food just wasn t made with love; maybe the cooks are bored, who knows. That s just my opinion. Worth an initial visit and a great place for conversation. Not totally worth the drive to the other side of town for me anymore though, unfortunately.

Hosted a family party here and it was absolutely perfect. My family was quite impressed with the added little details (even the rather sophisticated relatives) and the upper apartment room. The staff was kind and down to earth and most obliging. We had children in attendance and our noise level got a bit high but apparently it did not transfer to the restaurant downstairs. Great experience, highly recommended. Thank you Aberdeen staff!

We had 3 apps and 2 entrees. All were fabulous. Service was great, friendly and quick. Aberdeen Tavern remains one of our favourite spots in the city .

The food at this restaurant is amazing and the atmosphere and is enjoyable. The only downside is that there is no parking, you have to find a spot on the streets.

I'm from Toronto and I was in the Hamilton area and decided to try this place for brunch and it did not disappoint. I got their good morning burger with fries and she got their cheesecake stuffed french toast and both were delicious. If I'm in the Hamilton area again I will definitely drop by.

Delicious food and great service! We attended a private party in the Apartment'. The private room is very nice. Our server was sasha and she was fantastic!

I went with friends for lunch and everyone s food was amazing! They have a great lunch deal (starter, entree and dessert) that will leave you full all day. The menu is unique, thoughtful and has everything that you want when you go out for a nice meal! The restaurant is in an old bank, so it has some cool touches and an awesome bar. The staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful!

I took my dad for birthday brunch, not only is this building beautiful the furnishings and style just makes you feel classy! The eggs Benedict was fantastic best corn bread ever! And the staff is super attentive and polite!

My friend took me here once for their brunch menu and I must say it was such a delicious experience. The food is really good and the atmosphere is pretty homey. It's definitely a good spot to visit in Hamilton.

Always a favourite, recently tried their brunch. It did NOT disappoint. The food was great, I had the Turkey Club, my husband had the southern style eggs Benedict. Both were delicious. Next time I want to try their scones (made on weekends). We were both too full to get one. The atmosphere is always nice! The service is great. Highly recommend brunch here.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, our service was great and the food tasted great as well. Unfortunately it left me with some killer food poisoning afterwards... very disappointing after such a good experience :(

Amazing service and food! Visited this past weekend and had the cheesecake stuffed French toast and a cappuccino. It was perfection. I have been to this restaurant a number of times and it never disappoints.

Living 5 minutes from this restaurant is the definition of spoiled although, the price does relegate how many times we can go each month - the definition of "you get what you pay for". My wife and I had her birthday dinner here and then returned twice that month just because...

Servers are amazing and very attentive while still being extremely polite. They also seem like they genuinely love their work and are not afraid to share that love with the customers.

The food is so good it caught us off guard. Even the teas they carry are in wide variety and perfect to end the meal. We will be back very soon!

Came here for Easter Brunch with our family. The decor was really nice but the food was average at best. We tried almost every main on the fixed holiday menu and nothing was great.

Toast on the Cubana was burnt- not slightly dark but completely black and they made sure to put the black part facing down (no way they didn't notice).

The omelettes were quotes as "the worst omelette I have ever ordered" by my mom. Dry and basically nothing inside.

The tostada ranchos came out cold and the eggs overdone.

Cook on the burger, that was supposed to me a medium, was well overdone.

Mimosas, salad and shrimp were good. Those and the ambiance are the only 2 factors that bumped it up to a 3 star.

Thought it was because they were too busy, but only slightly more then half the tables were filled.

Fabulous cauliflower, brussel sprouts, crab dip appetizers. Everything was delicious, trout, meatloaf, scallops, carbonara, and butter squash ravioli. Earl grey creme brule and peanut butter desserts were the perfect finish to a great meal.

The service, food and atmosphere were all great. Highly recommend the ling cod and arctic char! It is a lovely decorated place in what appears to be a former bank building. The place reminded me of a proper London England gastropub

Food was tasty and well presented but the service we received tonight was mediocre at best. I would expect a little more courtesy and attention to detail from the server if this restaurant wants to continue to represent itself as upper tier. Overall it was just an average experience and I won't be in a rush to head back in.

Just had the Cauliflower and Chickpea Curry... Ghastly. Neither cauliflower nor curry involved in this pathetic prep. The lunch serving size, at $19 included a very small dish of rice and chickpeas, with the worst ever naan bread - gummy and dense. Food was simply awful, and an hour later I am experiencing indigestion. Spend your $$$ elsewhere.

update following morning - indigestion through the night, diarrhea this morning. Not only do they serve a substandard dish, they serve it when it has gone bad. For only $19

Very solemn and dark warm room, gracious service, and some rather excellent food: Duck was well prepared and luscious, the burger was - perhaps not the very best I've had- but it held its own and was very flavorful and loaded with creative complementary toppings.

One rather glaring annoyance : they aren't playing Spotify premium so every half hour on come ads - I found that that odd and jarring, marring an otherwise great meal out

Food generally good, I like to sit at the bar but find the bartenders here generally indifferent and non engaging of me the customer.

I was excited to go here because of the great reviews but it was pretty disappointing...the ambience was great which is why I m giving it two stars, but the rest was subpar. The service was good but it took a really long time to get our food, despite it not being that busy in the restaurant. Once we got our food, 2 people out of our group of 3 didn t like what we got.

I can t speak for the others, but I personally got the burger and really regretted my choice. First, I also asked for no tomatoes but it came with tomatoes. This wasn t a huge deal, as I could just take it off. The burger itself, however, tasted really bad. The outside was so burnt all I could taste was the burnt flavor. The fries (both my side of fries and the black truffle fries) were okay but also tasted kind of overcooked/greasy.

Overall, considering the price you pay I wouldn t say it s worth it. The ambience and service are good but you can get way better food elsewhere.

Everything about our meal was stellar. Friendly service, delicious cocktails, the best - prepared piece of fish I've ever had the pleasure to stuff in my face. Decent portions too...none of this tiny-bits-in-the-middle-of-the-plate business. Proper. Delicious. We'll be back.

Went here with my hubs and my daughter for my birthday dinner. We shared the crab dip and the corn fritters to start. Not enough chips for the dip, but the dip was delucious. I had spaghetti carbonara, hubs had the grilled halibut, and my daughter had the zucchini flatbread. It was all excellent. Of course, we had dessert even though birthday cake was waiting at home.

We had a great lunch here on Monday March 26...food was very good. Service was exceptional. Our server Kbre was attentive and discreet, very hard to do both as a server.

We had an e excellent Sunday Brunch here with daughter and husband for an early birthday celebration our server Kiri was wonderful, friendly efficient and we had fun with her. I would certainly recommend the Aberdeen Tavern.

Easily one of the city s best restaurants. Warm, friendly staff, great food, in the most beautiful setting.

This place is completely versatile. You can put on jeans and have a great meal with a pal, have a romantic dressed-up dinner, or host a wedding or private party upstairs in their function room.

The best seat in the house is the chef s rail. It s a four seat butcher block bar that overlooks the kitchen. Great for a dinner with some added entertainment. They also have most quiet and romantic tables within the restaurant. They can meet all your needs.

The patio in the summer is like a secret garden easily one of the best in the city. Their menu is small but diverse, and every last item is delicious. They also accommodate well for veg and gluten free.

Tonight and loved it. For apps we ordered the califlower and endive salad that was delicious and also shared crab dip that we also really enjoyed.

We had to wait a few extra minutes for our mains (I think we got forgot about by accident) our server came over and told us it would only be a few moments. We were not worried at all and the manager Dan checked on us and we said it was cool, no sweat, and we were enjoying our night out.

Our food came out and the braised beef special was so tender and my lamb was perfect. The manager Dan came over to check on our meals and apologized that we had to wait and offered us desert and coffee on the restaurant. He brought us out his favorite (cherry and white chocolate cheese cake) which was a great choice.

Everything was delicious, the staff was friendly and welcoming and with only a minor mistake they went out of their way and made us feel appreciated as guests.

Five stars for food and service. We have been before and we will go back. It s always a pleasure to dine at the Aberdeen tavern!

Went there to celebrate my birthday. I got the pickerel. It was great but I found the portion small for the price. The server was an absolute gentleman! Great service! Got a birthday card which I found weird. It wasn't a card that gave you a free dessert or a discount on your next visit. Just an overall generic card. Overall great experience!

We meet once a year with friends. Yesterday for lunch at Aberdeen Tavern was our annual meeting and it was really nicely done. The server was excellent, the food was excellent and we had close to 3 hours to relax and get caught up on times past (over the last year). The prix fixe lunch was good (the portions are awesome - neither of the individuals who ordered salads could finish theirs). We have been here before for dinner, but this was our first lunch experience. We shall return.

Great food for a great price! I had the club sandwich and it was so good. Service was excellent. Also they use paper straws - nice effort to help cut down on plastic.So many options. Fresh made. Quality ingredients. Helpful staff. Clean environment. Very reasonably priced and ample serving sizes. We need a Toasty's in every city across Canada. Seriously. And free WiFi.

Best greeter ever!! Friendly & likable server, attentive manager, and great breakfast. We live 3 hours away but I can't wait to devour another order of Aberdeen's huevos & home fries. Fresh ingredients, lots of glorious flavours. Yummy!!!

I was in yesterday for dinner and we had a fabulous time. The food was pretty good, but what really made our experience so excellent was the service. The customer service was outstanding, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend this place!

We had an amazing time when my husband and I went for dinner on my birthday. Our server couldn t have been more attentive. It is now our go to restaurant for all special occasions.

Aberdeen Tavern is a great place to enjoy a nice meal in the afternoon but I was there last night with my sister & we notice the prices are very expensive & over rated! Also we noticed this time was very noisy in general people voices over powering!

I have been for brunch and dinner, both are excellent, service is always great. It's a gorgeous building and the patio is lovely. Went to dinner during these covid times and everything is handled well, sanitizer as you enter and available on all tables etc spacing is done well.

Nice atmosphere. Love the patio! Brunch, dinner and their drinks are all must try! My favorite brunch dish is BBQ beef hash! Tostada Rancheros was really good too. For dinner I recommend spaghetti carbonara with poached egg on top and seared sea scallops risotto.
