Ourselves & numerous families have been victimized...

Ourselves & numerous families have been victimized by the Daniel Thiel Family. Owners of the Terry Bison Ranch. We were charged a premium to reserve a campsite for the 10 day duration of Frontier Days. The organizers of Frontier Days cancelled the event. Due to me simultaneously contracting COV-19. We responsibly cancelled our reservation & self-quarantined. Terry Bison has refused to refund our $1,042 or offer a full or partial credit. Many families are suffering from the selfish actions of the Thiel Family. Thank you for your attention & support to this injustice.

Located off Terry Ranch Road just off I25, the Terry Bison ranch offers plenty to do. Wether enjoying the food at the restaurant, or going on a trail ride, the staff are sure to offer excellent service and a smile. Overall a great place with alot to offer.

If you're looking for a real Wyoming experience, check out the historic Terry Bison Ranch. Nice gift shop, decent restaurant serving the best bison burger in the state, and a rustic train tour of part of the ranch.

Visiting the Terry Bison Ranch is a MUST! We made a day of it; taking a narrated train ride to feed the bison, walked around to see all the animals (and there babies), enjoyed the pony rides, gift shop and much more! We finished up our day dining at the Senator's Steakhouse. I ordered the massive Ranch Hand Randy burger. It was delicious!

Paid 30 dollars for 2 very small portions of chili that I had to wait almost an hour for. The manager was extremely rude when I questioned why its so little. Also wasn't told there was no corn bread until after I was charged and they would not give my money back.

One of our top life experiences. We fed buffalo! So awesome! The kids loved the horse rides. Lots of cool animals. Really nice down to earth staff. Midwest charm all day. Will definitely revisit for longer stay in future.

We first experienced this place during cheyenne frontier days and it was great! 5 star food, came in after labor day weekend and a totally different place, completely new staff that knew nothing about the menu, or the food that was being served. The same can be said about the food itself. Nothing tasted the same, fish was over cooked, prime rib was not offered on the menu, and short ribs were cold. Was disappointing and will not be going back.

Liked this place for my needs UNTIL the HippyFest came...I stay because I work in the area. This is the second night that the Base music and I use the term music lightly is so loud it sounds like it is in my cabin!! It was the same last night from early evening UNTIL 8:30 am this morning. Same tonight, it's is now 3:30 am Sunday, I havens slept since I got up for work last Friday (when they arrived) extremely inconsiderate for extended stay and overnight guests!! I mentioned to the office on my way to work Sat how loud it was, I guess they don't care.
VERY DISAPPOINTED, I PAY A GREAT AMOUNT TO STAY HERE MONTHLY!!

Wonderful place to grab a cowboy breakfast. The food is delicious. The service was great. It is a working ranch so be sure to take a walk after eating to look at all the animal's and you will not be disappointed. They do offer quite a few activities there. Feed the buffalo train ride, horse back trail ride, 4 wheeler rides, fishing in their stocked pond all reasonably priced. Great place to take the family.

But this time with are one-year-old daughter we stopped and even though not everything was not open we still had a ton of fun and the staff was that was still there was super super sweet. There was so many fun animals and things to look at. The restaurant was yummy I can't wait till we get to go back and actually experienced Terry bisons when its open. Next time I think I'll actually stay the weekend.

Feeding the bison was really neat. Our kids loved all the animals. The staff was very friendly. The one downside was the restaurant, with poor service and some kitchen problems. Maybe it's better during prime season.

We stayed in our coach a week at Terry Bison Ranch, a definite mistake that will never be repeated. We were placed in Site 81; from our front window we had a lovely view of the dump station and the trash bins. On our driver side we were side by side with another motor home so close we could talk window to window. But our best view was on our passenger side, coming out my door I was greeted by a snarling barking little dog hanging out our neighbors cottage window. Along the entire right side of my coach was a building wall. When I walked along their pot holed dirt road I was greeted at the cottage front by a larger angry snarling dog that wanted to come over the fence to attack me. My neighbors owned three dogs. It made a call to the General Manager but nothing was ever done. Looking around the area the permanent people have a sufficient amount of junk and trash around them that gives the place a really low class trailer park image certainly not a guest ranch as advertised The noise from speeding vehicle on the interstate was incredible and to top it off the Union Pacific operates a rail line across the highway. We were told by the office wifi is available throughout the park. Yep you connect at 81 with the wifi server but not the internet. So why did I stay, I did a foolish thing I paid for a week before checking the site and there are no refunds and we were up against a Labor Day weekend. I think I would have been happier at Walmart parking lot.

Not a lot to it at first glance, but a really cool spot for adults and kids. Definitely not a while day thing, but a couple hours to take the train and roam a bit. Then... grab some food at the restaurant. It was pretty tasty. Also, an awesome 2 piece band was playing when I was there.

Buffalo train was a lot of fun! Train engineer (Jonathan) was informative and entertaining. Fed buffalo from train and watched a buffalo in labor. Gift shop personnel not so friendly or forthcoming. Other activities but we did not partake due to limited time.

Good burger, but it would have been nice if the server had told me the "upgrade" to Bison meat was a $6 upcharge. Now, I know it probably stated it somewhere on the menu, but I am way too important and powerful to read simple instructions. Please adjust for my shortcomings.

They cancelled our whole group's reservation because one person in our group inquired about cancelling and getting her money back. They wouldn't refund any of her money, yet wanted to resell the spot...they had a waitlist because of Cheyenne Frontier Days. They could have easily made a customer happy. Instead, they made 4 more families mad when they cancelled the whole reservation out of spite. Overall, the people at the front desk were not very friendly, either (aside from thus situation. They did find a spot for our 4 campers, but I wouldn't go back there again.

Came for trail riding and to feed the Bison. Everyone was very friendly and the train conductor was a delight. He made the ride even more fun by joking with passengers and making jokes. He made connections with passengers and overall made me want to move to Wyoming and go work with him! His friend, Tony the Turkey would greet you when you left the train depot and beg for attention. Would definitely look into renting a cabin next time we come to Wyoming.

Terry Bison ranch was a once in a lifetime experience for me. It is an opportunity to view bison in their natural setting, to watch bison group in small gatherings and care for their offspring. Not only will your experience include bison, your tour will stop at the restaurant where if you're a little adventurous you can try a bison steak or burger. Both are delicious! If you're really lucky, you might get a glimpse of an antelope pod seen frequently in the area. The ranch staff is very friendly and always helpful. A really great experience!

After reading about it online, we gave it a try because we have family near Cheyenne and wanted to have something for the kiddos to do. Since we have a nearly-3-year-old, we wanted to ride the "train" (an old 6x6 with a converted chassis, they call it their winter train, but have some nice ones for the dinner and for summer use as well). We spent the $14 per adult (kids under 5 were free), and got to go out and hand feed the bison from the train. It was an amazing experience and a great memory for our little girl who loves "Buffawoes" to be able to show up a couple of 10 year old girls who were scared to be touched by the bison's tongue to go fist-deep in a bison's mouth with feed in hand.

We also got to see the camels, llamas, alpacas, goats, horses, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, ostriches, and so many other animals. Lots of history on the ranch in the area, and some great things to learn about there, and some super fun stuff in the rather large gift stop. They have some neat little rental cabins there, and have an amazing deal with local high schools to help them build them as school projects that they have contractors assist with so the kids can learn trades like carpentry or plumbing.

I can't really speak for the actual lodging or cafe/restaurant, but the rest of it was totally worth taking the family to check it out. In the future, though, we'll definitely have to stay there for a night or two and give the other stuff a try!

Only reason it got a 4/5 is because of some mild concerns for a couple of the animals that didn't look so great (specifically, one of the ostriches was DEFINITELY ill, but I couldn't say if that was due to conditions/treatment, or general health. The other 4 seemed perfectly fine, but no one was really around those animals pens to ask about them). Don't expect this to be a million dollar zoo or anything, but for what it is and the general cost of entry (free, though you need to pay for the train or pony rides or the like), it was a wonderful place to make memories! :)

Had reservations to stay at Terry Bison ranch this...

Had reservations to stay at Terry Bison ranch this year for Frontier Days. Upon the cancellation of Frontier Days in May, we called the Ranch to see if we could move our reservation to next year or receive a refund. They told us the owners were getting together to decide and someone would call us back. We never received another call from them until today as they were wanting to confirm our reservation for this weekend. We told them no, we are driving from Georgia (24 hour drive) and would not be able to make it this year as Frontier Days was our main reason for going to Wyoming. We asked if our reservation could be honored for next year or if we could receive a refund. No was the answer to both with no explanation. We have called back several times today asking for a manager which no one can seem to find time to call us back. We cannot help it that the unfortunate COVID-19 has appeared this year and cancelled many events. All of the other things we had reserved in Wyoming have either refunded us or reserved us a spot for next year. Terry Bison ranch is determined to keep our $800.00 and give no excuse for it. This is unethical and frustrating for us as first time visitors. We will be attending Frontier Days next year but will not be staying at Terry Bison ranch.

If you like buffalo's, this is the only place to go and see them up close in the USA. Take the train and hand feed momma and baby bisons from the train. See these majestic animals up close, a fantastic experience. We have been 3 times this year. Senators Restaurant right next door, and RV camping.

Quick & efficient and very friendly office & grounds staff during check in. All spots were hard dirt pull thrus and close together. Could not extend side awning. Sites came with a picnic table. Views from the farm were great if the Bison, Camel and other animals. Lots to do here and see. Steakhouse food was good and menu was short. Great access off I-25 and not to noisy. Prices were good too.

Just stopped in to tour the place, but would like to return for at least a day, but more favorably, a couple weeks, as funds allow. We were well received, and given an itinerary which could have easily filled the whole day. There was no problem getting an idea of how you could fill a vacation with ease. If I had to come up with a spontaneous vacation, this would be at the top of my list.

For a glimmer of a second from the highway, I had my doubts. I got over that quickly! It was a great experience. It is a unique, memorable pit stop. The staff was awesome.

The bison train was absolutely worth it. Its an actual train on tracks so you can go regardless of weather. You learn a lot about the ranch. The ranch foreman was great at his job. We saw horses, donkeys, llamas, peacocks, chickens, turkeys, and camels too.

We stayed in an rv site. The bathrooms were clean. The shower water was hot. The playground was unique and fun for the kids.

Even though the train ride was very slow and boring, We had a great time with the bison once we made it out to the plains. We also enjoyed hanging out with the free range animals afterwards. It's like a literal petting zoo down by the train depot. Great staff.

So... today's my Birthday. We went out to Terry Bi...

So... today's my Birthday. We went out to Terry Bison Ranch.... which is a tradition. Unfortunately it was the absolute worst experience of my life at any restaurant. We get there. We all were seated, its not busy, we order. 50 minutes later my husband flags the waitress down to ask where our food is, she proceeds to tell us "well there's still 2 tables ahead of you." "The kitchens not good at communicating" and a few more excuses. I say ok but we haven't even got our soups or salads. She comes back and says our food will be out in 10 min and brings our salads, the kids food (kids steak with no steak knife) so have to ask for that and wait again. Try to cut my daughters steak up its hard as a rock as this point I am very frustrated. They bring the adult food out. My other daughter order rosemary lemon chicken... in looking at it, it appears very dry, over cooked and so much rosemary and lemon to cover the overcooked chicken. My steak was well done and hard. My husband's baked potatoe was undercooked. I just decided I was done. They came out and offered us free dessert. So we took them up on that. In which I was handed my daughters bill and someone else's bill had been added to it. So had to wait and wait again, finally went to flag her down, then had to wait for her to correct it. At this point she did apologize and not make excuses which was nice. Then I had to go to the counter to pay which at this point (its been over 2.5 hours almost we left our house at 5pm its 10 min from our house and got home at 8pm for reference) they are super busy and a line out the door to get in. They have 1 person checking people out and sitting people. So she checks 1 person out with a line of 5 people waiting to check out and then goes and sits a table. Now don't get me wrong I know bad nights happen but when my husband brings up everything that happened she said well, its not the waitresses fault. Now I do agree some of it wasnt however..... not being updated, having to ask for refills until we said something oh even got the wrong drinks at one point and the wrong bill was indeed the waiteress fault. The over cooked food was the kitchens fault and wasn't even hot so my guess is say there for a while. It will be a while before we attempt that and my suggestion is that they get someone in their to actually train their people because that was a train wreck at best!

I hate going places where I see animals mistreated. The camels and other animals that were out farther from the ranch seemed to have a lot more room to move around so maybe they were a little better off, but the ones closer to the ranch were filthy. The lama pens had so much poop in them there's no way that was accumulated in only a day - I wonder how often these pens are actually cleaned - not often from what we saw. And the hay for the lamas was all moldy. After seeing the condition the animals were in we decided not to spend a penny on the place, not in the restaurant and not even on a post card. I hope the ranch gets its priorities straight and becomes more diligent about caring for their animals - the animals don't deserve that.
