August 2020: I went into the ER for my second bout of severe belly pain.
I had to wait for about an hour behind cardiac cases, but once in, they reduced my pain, and fairly quickly ran all the tests to determine that I had an infected gallbladder. It had to be removed.
Next I was admitted, they stopped my pain, and I had surgery early that week.
The nurses, doctors, PA s, technicians, and Med students were ALL - each and every one - GREAT.
I have been admitted to a hospital four times, and this hospital was by far the best experience. By far.
Everyone took the time to explain things, to answer questions, and to be nice. The care was excellent.
The nurses were all super knowledgeable, and managed that classic nursing dichotomy of being gentle and caring, as well as a million percent professional.
Everything was clean. Nothing felt old or run down. The one negative was the TV. While it definitely worked, it was small and there were almost no stations. Lousy. But who cares, because Wifi was excellent.
Much more importantly, THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. (If I could buy the bed, I would.). After having been in so much intense pain, to rest in a lovely bed was absolutely joyful.
I can t comment on the food because for me it was all liquid until just before I left. That one turkey sandwich was super fresh, lol.
Also, I really like my surgeon - Dr. Samuel - and plan to return to him if needed in the future. He had all the qualities of a surgeon, plus he made the time to explain things, and answer all of my questions.
Overall, I had an excellent experience at the MetroWest Medical Center. I highly recommend this hospital and its excellent team.
