Don't go here! No priority for children at all. 2nd experience in 2 years where we waited hours and eventually left without treatment (once was a wait for an IV for a dehydrated 4 year old several days post op) the other was for failure to see and drain a finger slammed on a door ("left after 90 minutes without a visit by nurse but doc had seen us twice and was waiting on the nurse). When we eventually decided to go somewhere else and we told the nurse we were leaving she said in front of my son "you are teaching your kid patience well." Great lessons and care of people. You clearly care.

I had a great experiences at MetroWest Medical Center at the Maternity floor. The nurses were great, great TLC. Super recomend to the new moms that are to came. I loved the treatment I got at this place. For nurses and doctors, to all stuff: God bless you all for the good care you give to all your patients. Keep up the great work.

Worst administrative staff ever. Don't bother to call - you won't get a human being on the phone. Trying to resolve multiple billing issues - like the fact they are using an address for me that I HAVEN'T LIVED AT IN OVER A DECADE - and they are all but blaming me, like I was supposed to jump over the counter and make sure the person checking me in actually compared the correct address on my license with the incorrect one in their files. They asked, 'has your address changed?' well no, I've lived at my current one for over 10 years, so why would I ever suspect the one they had was wrong, especially since I had NEVER been there before? I would rather drop dead outside the emergency room door than step foot in this hospital ever again. They're all bad but this one takes it to a new level.

Dear Lisa Crutchfield I want you to know how impressed I was with my recent experience at Metrowest Medical Center for an ARTERIAL EVALUATION. From the Diagnostic Imaging receptionist I was treated with kindness, respect and courtesy. I cannot remember all the names, but who stands out is Rahnjahn in the Vascular area. He took the time to explain the procedure and took care in putting on the pressure cuffs and made sure that I was comfortable lying down. When he was finished he brought me my clothes and walked me out to the end and directed me to the elevator and shook my hand. He is a real asset to Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. Thank You, John E. Harrold, SR.

I've had some mixed experiences here. Such as overhearing a dr belittle my symptoms of 'not being able to move my head or neck,' complaining that 'when my neck is stiff, I still come in.' Two minutes later, the same dr comes in, pretending to be all concerned about my symptoms.
I've also called the clinic to set up an appointment only to be told that they have one person on staff who can handle insurance and she wouldn't be in til Monday (this was a Thursday). More annoying, the person on the phone wasn't able to offer me any recourse. I don't understand how they can just not have someone processing insurance but to not even have a backup plan or a place they could send me is pretty bad.
I've had some good experiences there too and it seems unfair to judge a business off the worst they can offer, but this is a hospital and it consistently bats pretty low.
Overhearing a doctor insult you for coming in or having a clinic that is unable to process new patients for four days are bad signs. I see why the average stars here are so low. I know it's a pandemic and people are short staffed but this kinda stuff can get people killed.

I was treated very poorly, Dr. connolly was very unprofessional. She actually went as far as saying that she was over worked and understaffed. she misdiagnosed me. its not fair that they charge the insurance companies to the max, and give you substandard care. The insurance companies definitely need to investigate the substandard care that occurs daily at framingham, metrowest medical center. While I was waiting for hours for Dr.connolly, the conversations that I heard between the nurses and the doctor and staff was very offensive. Especially to homosexual men and woman. I was disgusted in every aspect of the visit.

I fell on the ice and hit my head. I was admitted quickly and got great attention from the nursing staff. Cat scan tech gave clear instructions and was considerate to my situation. The ER physician was also very clear in her diagnosis and recommendations for after care. Overall I was very impressed with the care and professionalism of the staff at MMC.

I've been sick the last month and ended up in the ER vomiting and miserable. Both times the staff were compassionate and very kind. Both times I ended up being brought to a room upstairs.
The care I received was exactly that, care. People were nice and quick to help with any issues I might have, from throwing up to wanting a drink.
All and all I d give them 4 stars!

I have brought my mother to all her doctors appointments and every time she schedules a 2:00 pm. We arrive at 1:30 and she is not seen until 5:00-6:00 pm and sometimes her own doctor has already left for the day and she is seen by another one. This has happened on multiple occasions and a 3-4 hour waiting period is completely unacceptable.

I ve literally been sitting in the ER waiting room since 11:30 am. It is now 3:08 pm and haven t been triaged. I am here for severe persistent back pain, I can t walk or transition.. I had to ask for my own urine cup bc I m aware they are going to check my kidneys. They are so rude and have no bed side manner what so ever. I ve never been so pissef off and annoyed in my life. This is by far the worse hospital I have ever been in.

Do not go to this hospital. I (unfortunately) had to go to the ER twice in a month and I am still dealing with the various bills from them 7 months later, despite having already paid my insurance deductible. You get invoiced separately for the doctors in the ER and the equipment they provide. Every time you call the numbers on bills they give you different amounts for different dates and nobody has a straight answer. I ask for management and get the run around. If you want quality care and a seamless customer experience go to Worcester, Boston or Springfield. Never in my life have I dealt with such an awful operation, hospital or otherwise.

One star is a gift - literally. This is a complaint from the inside. I worked there this last time for about 10 months - but off an on for about 20 years...but I digress. I was the Patient Relations Manager, where I was to advocate for the rights of the patient and make sure that the quality of care they received was appropriate. This is just ONE instance: A patient brought her infant daughter into the ER where she was stuck 4 or 5 times. Blood was never obtained, so they left. She ended up bringing her daughter to Boston Children's where the blood was obtained and care was received. The mother complained about her copayment and wanted her bill written off (and yes, contrary to popular belief, co-payments can be written off under certain circumstances.) I brought this complaint to the ER Director where he agreed with the patient's mom that it should be written off. My supervisor, on the other hand, thought we needed the money, and said we should make her pay it. To add insult to injury, according to CMS regulations, she was supposed to get a response within 7 days, and last I knew before leaving, it was going on about 3 weeks. That is just ONE of a PILE of complaints that make this a negative workplace. I'll also leave you with this - I never received my tax information. After leaving calls upon calls for the HR director, and it now being April 4th. I now have to complain online and to the IRS. It's a shame, too because the clinical staff really want to help people - administration, on the other hand...well, just look at the revolving door.

I delivered all my 4 children there and had an absolutely wonderful experience with the nurses who cared for my babies.. very attentive and caring. Later on, I had heart issues and just recently had to stay overnight after a procedure in the cardiac unit. Besides being woken up every two hours (which I know is protocol to check things like all hospitals do), the nurses and my cardiologist, Dr. Love were exceptional. I left Lahey in Burlington because of a horrible cardiologist to go to MetroWest which was a lot more of a drive for me, but I honestly felt more comfortable with the care I received here. I cannot say enough about the staff, nurses and Dr. Love.

Your doctors should be ashamed of themselves I just spent over 4 hours waiting to be able to spend two minutes with a doctor to tell me that she could not think of a way to help me. Didn't want to look at me nothing didn't care she was too busy and told me she was too busy to be able to help me I am a veteran I deserve better. I think it's just very sad that because of the way I look I treated differently.
I am disgusted. That doctor should be ashamed of herself.

*It's now a month later and I am still dealing with this. Don't know where to turn. I don't know what more I can take.

August 2020: I went into the ER for my second bout of severe belly pain.

I had to wait for about an hour behind cardiac cases, but once in, they reduced my pain, and fairly quickly ran all the tests to determine that I had an infected gallbladder. It had to be removed.

Next I was admitted, they stopped my pain, and I had surgery early that week.

The nurses, doctors, PA s, technicians, and Med students were ALL - each and every one - GREAT.

I have been admitted to a hospital four times, and this hospital was by far the best experience. By far.

Everyone took the time to explain things, to answer questions, and to be nice. The care was excellent.

The nurses were all super knowledgeable, and managed that classic nursing dichotomy of being gentle and caring, as well as a million percent professional.

Everything was clean. Nothing felt old or run down. The one negative was the TV. While it definitely worked, it was small and there were almost no stations. Lousy. But who cares, because Wifi was excellent.

Much more importantly, THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. (If I could buy the bed, I would.). After having been in so much intense pain, to rest in a lovely bed was absolutely joyful.

I can t comment on the food because for me it was all liquid until just before I left. That one turkey sandwich was super fresh, lol.

Also, I really like my surgeon - Dr. Samuel - and plan to return to him if needed in the future. He had all the qualities of a surgeon, plus he made the time to explain things, and answer all of my questions.

Overall, I had an excellent experience at the MetroWest Medical Center. I highly recommend this hospital and its excellent team.

The staff is very good, my main complaint is the ER registration desk, it s a slide window in front of the waiting area, that has no privacy, everyone can hear your health complaints, there is a sign on the window were you can ask for privacy , but seams very unprofessional and not enough to protect your privacy.

Worst hospital i have ever been to. Thete ate a couple of excellent doctors in the emergency room but most of them are very uncaring. Most of the nursing staff are good, but there are a few that act like they are being inconvienced bu you being there. There is one hosptalist there that thinks he is god Dr Wang and even if the ER doctor wants to admit you there is no guarentee it will happen as Dr Wang has the final say. Certainly not my first choice for emergency care but as they are the nearest cardiac center the ambulance wont usuall take me someplace else. If your lucky enought to get Dr Helberg or Dr. Burger you will be in good hands

They were unable to tell us the correct co-pay when we had asked 4 different times. Then they surprised us with a huge bill a month later. We brought in the bill hoping to work with them on it as it was either their mistake or a deliberate lie. They pretty much told us to piss off and pay them.

Avoid treatment here if possible.

Impossible to pay the bill! I spent all Friday and now spending all Monday trying to get through to the hospital's financial services to pay the bill over the phone by CC. I have called an enormous amount of time. Each time, after going through the zillion button pushes, the call is dropped. I went through the auto service, through the operator to no avail. Now, for the first time in two days, I have been put on an indefinite hold! I am trying to PAY MY BILL. Please let me do that and take this off my to do list.

Update: After two days of trying, I accidentally (by searching in google for MetroWest's customer service #) discovered that there is a website -- different name from the main site -- where you can pay the bill online. Unfortunately, they do not provide the full bill there, but otherwise, it is a quick way to pay. (Do not remember the website's name, it's in my browser at home, sorry.)

My daughter was brought to this Hospital while on ...

My daughter was brought to this Hospital while on vacation in Massachusetts my ex-husband and I left her for a few hours while she was in the emergency room She was breathing ,she was talking, she was walking she was wide awake! We went back a few hours later and they told me that she was on life support and in the ICU unit and they had her heavily sedated on Fentanyl and Propofol !!! We asked what happened and they said that she knew what was going on and she signed the papers to have her self put on life support! No one believed that no one at all believe that!!! S he was fine when we left her she should have come home a few hours later!! She laid in that hospital for 6 weeks!!! 6 weeks without getting up being moved!!!!!! They kept pumping her full of this crazy drug to keep her sedated I saw her she was absolutely bloated her arms were swollen her feet were swollen her hands were swollen it was totally disgusting I asked why and they said oh it's the nature of the disease she had Mac which is in her lungs and on top of that she had pneumonia!!! We asked if they could ease up on the medicines they said no little did we know that while she was in that hospital she had two Strokes!!! We were only told of one !!!!!!!! After several weeks of watching my daughter wither away a doctor came up to me dr. Deshpande or whatever his stupid ass name is and demanded I sign a DNR I absolutely freaked out he would chase me down in that hospital when he saw me and told me by three on this day you have to have it signed!!! I got in touch with my son-in-law he flew up and he absolutely refused to sign it as well and between family members and my son-in-law and myself we demanded my daughter be moved to Brigham and Women's Hospital they immediately came and got her and immediately began the process of bringing her out of the coma that she was in for 6 weeks they even said that was way too long and they couldn't figure out what this hospital was doing in the long run my daughter is now home she is with her family all thanks to the staff the doctors of Brigham and Women's Hospital and the rehab center as for Framingham MetroWest Medical Center it should be closed down because I've spoken to a lot of people and it was because my daughter had no insurance that they just wanted to give up on her and that's wrong you take an oath to save somebody's life and give the best care possible they did not do this I suggest everyone stay away from Framingham MetroWest Medical Center and I do not want anyone corresponding to me from that hospital about my opinion my opinion is worth voicing if it can save someone's life !!!

Currently two hours at the pediatric ER. Haven't even talked to a doctor. They put another patient in front of the door so I'm pretty sure they've forgotten about us. The patient is wailing in pain which means my daughter who I brought in is scared and anxious.

The best part is on the way here I called and they said it was slow and we would be seen right away.

I never thought I could write bad things about a service but this is just unbelievable!!. We went to get just information and help about mass health application. The "Latin lady" who is in charge of Finance dept. Apparently had a bad day cause instead of getting things explained calmly and professional. She spent the first 5 minutes, making us feel bad about taking her time (should I say "complaining or Nagging"?) She said they don't work for mass health and that she is being taking her time (in other word wasting her time) because she has more ("in other words") cases ($$$) waiting with ER patients. That was not our problem lady!! All she had to do is to assign someone else to help us out while she was taking care of her "MORE IMPORTANT PATIENT$$!" I even apologize because I felt we took her "alleged" time. Since We are new to this MA health system we never ever experienced the process. This lady needs a new training or assignment to a lesser dept. like maintenance or something not dealing with people. Shame on you Puerto Rican lady!! You are not in the Puerto Rico health care system anymore!!!

Went in for surgery this morning to remove a mole type growth on my leg and it was the best experience I've had. Sharon was the nurse at the hospital and did a wonderful job helping me relax. The physician was Dr. Yagnik Pandya. They both had excellent bedside manners the procedure went well. I expected to be in a lot of pain after I got home and the anesthesia wore off but I'm doing fine. I highly recommend are all surgical matters.

Extremely disappointed in the quality of care received here. Despite the occasional kind, caring, compassionate nurse (there has been one so far in the past 24 hours we've been here) the cleaning crew was more responsive than the actual doctors and nurses. After waiting in an ER triage room for 5+ hours we were finally moved to a room upstairs but have now been waiting ALL day for the doctor to come and give us some sort of answer as to what is going on... No one has any clue when the Dr will be in and will give no sort of information until they do... I understand hospitals are busy, but where is the compassion for a loved one who is suffering? I plead you to find care elsewhere to help you avoid the frustrations of this place

Metrowest has THE worst billing department. Each d...

Metrowest has THE worst billing department. Each department bills separately and abosuletly zero information given regarding how a patient is supposed to view their bills. So if you get a CT scan a ultrasound and a procedure the doctors who reads your charts bill you seperately, the hospital bills you separately and the radiology department bills separately . There is no single portal that has all the information. The patient portal does not have all the information and the bill payment center has incomplete bills. Also once you pay your bills in the payment portal there is no summary provided of the charges for future reference. For a cost breakdown you have to call up the billing department.
There will be times when you will not come to know outstanding bills until you receive a letter from the collection agency. And that's because no one has given you any information regarding your account number and which website you are suppose to access to see those bills.
Please make sure once a procedure is completed to go to the front desk and find out information about the billing.

I got here to the ER (2:30pm) after I had an ultrasound to detect blood clots in my left leg. I was aware that the ER was full and I would understand the wait, but staff treatment, specially the triage receptionist was awful! From the time I got there after 2 hours I had to ask her if I would be seen...given that I had a few blood clots I would think that it would be urgent to get the medication right away. After 2 hours I was seen to go over vitals and then was sent back to waiting area to wait almost an hour and a half more! When I finally got called in the stand by doctor came in and said that they had found clots in my leg and that they would be giving me medication. Another hour went by and I finally told my husband to ask in the hallway when my medication would be sent. After doing that 20 minutes later another doctor came by and said the same thing the first doctor said and that they would be bringing medication ASAP. Once again waited more than an hour more to get medication and a prescription to go home with, even discharge was taking a lot of time. Staff did not check on us and I had to ask for a warm blanket because my legs were freezing. Awful, Awful, Awful service, hospital facility can use extensive cleaning and updating it looks very unsanitary, bathroom had no paper towels and was extremely dirty. Sometimes a facility might not be pristine, but as long as you have good service that doesn t bother you, but this hospital doesn t have anything positive. In an emergency or for any other service I will never come back here and I will definitely tell my friends, family and clients not to come here as well!
BTW I left the hospital at 8:30pm from 2:30pm arrival time. Just to get some anti blood clotting medicine and a prescription!!!

There are lots of nice caring doctors and nurses here, but sadly if you encounter one of the horrible ones it can ruin your entire experience. Yolanda (who took my blood) was nasty and arrogant. My father went with my mother to the emergency room because of a lot of pain in his chest and stomach. Prior of heading to the doctor he was experiencing chills and vomiting and breathing issues.

They went into the Emergency Room to be sat down when they were the only ones there for an hour. Mind you my mother explained to the people in the waiting room my father has respiratory issues and could not breath.

The lady there began to explain how emergencies were taken first and for my father to wear a mask so that he didn't get people sick....

I WILL NEVER BRING NOR SUGGEST FOR SOMEONE TO GO HEAR. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS.
I am not a medical professional but honestly if a 55+ year old man is passed out in your waiting room with KNOWN MEDICAL HISTORY FROM THE SAME HOSPITAL WHO TOLD HIM HE HAD RESPIRATORY ISSUES WHICH WAS THE CAUSE OF A HEART ATTACK IN THE PASSED THEN WHY WOULD YOU NOT TAKE HIM IN IMMEDIATELY. .

What is even worse is that even my own doctor confirmed the flu that has been going around this year is very bad and these people still do not handle situations in emergency waiting rooms properly.

I mean does it not seem logical to have a doctor go into the waiting room for a quick checkup with a patient to just make sure immediate care is not needed. Because it seems like the people at the front desk just make visual judgement and this won't change most likely until someone dies in that waiting room.

Completely flabbergasted by this hospital. No wonder they have 2.4 review. What is worse is that this seems to be a very constant issue in multiple reviews but like i said this hospital won't change one thing because they don't care. Until someone dies in the waiting room because of their negligence that's when they will change but not because of a patient but because of bad PR. Horrible.

Literal grease pit. Felt like I was being treated in a FEMA camp.

I had to leave my job and go to a hospital because of an Athsma attack. I walk in and explain my situation barely able to breathe, at that point I am told to fill out some papers for health information. Then I wait for 4 hours to see a doctor for 5 minutes that then gives me an inhaler and sends me on my way. Thanks for the help bro.......... Not to mention the dingy, most likely TB infected waiting room they have you sit in. The whole place needs to be quarantined with the condition it s kept in.

Not to mention the billing issues turns out I was billed through my insurance(almost $700) and then the doctor working out of the emergency room billed me sending it to the wrong address thus landing it into collections. I m just curious about how a 4 hour wait, 5 minute visit, and inhaler prescription adds up to over $1300.

Rating: Total Dump 0/10
Would probably risk death to not go here.

I m never coming back here to Framingham hospital-MetroWest Medical Center. After getting poked several times trying to find a vein they finally called a specialist who put a catheter in using an ultrasound machine. After the CT Scan if my lungs and ultrasound of my leg they told me my clots in my leg got very long from my ankle to my thigh. Also, the clots in my lungs came back...So I ve. been waiting for several hours in emergency because they admitted me but no bed so I waited and waited for hours. Finally I told them transfer me to my hospital since they re so busy. Now transport is coming just backed up. This hospital is not for me and I will not come back for anything

Lower technicians have limited English and unprofessional attitude. My father 80 y.o. was at CT scan machine left alone, unattended and when trying to get out fell on the floor very badly. No apologies from the hospital.

very dissapointed!! less than 1-star!
Got to the ER have currently been waiting almost 2hours here in the waiting room! i informed them that my companion has thrown up over 6 times+all the other symptoms and nothing. i have seen every person that has come in after us be taken into a room except us. some have even left already! i let the receptionist know we have been waiting 2+ hours just for her to tell me 10 more min. it has now been another 45 min. and still nothing, yet i continuously see new people coming in and taken directly into a room. the ER is not packed at the moment so i dont understand. SUPER dissapointed!!!!!!!

Was brought in for difficulty breathing, my parents were told to go home and I would be fine after receiving oxygen, my parents return and the dr told them I was in ICU and I knew what was going on with me, my parents did not understand because I was up and breathing fine a few hours after I came to the er. I was placed on a ventilator, given 70+ doses of propofal and fentonyl to keep me in a coma even when I woke up they would put me back under, this went on for 5 weeks in a coma lost 20 lbs the dr chased my mother down the hall waving a DNR paper at her telling her she needed to sign it and she refused well my husband was on his way back to mass from where we live and when he arrived the dr told him to get my kids to the hospital because I wasn't going to make it well my husband told him that I was a fighter and I would make it but the dr named dr Deshpande had no faith in human life and kept on saying I was going to die so my husband said he was taking me out of that hospital and he had me transferred to Brigham and womans and when I arrived they woke me up from that induced coma after 6 weeks and here I am today alive no thanks to MWMC or dr DESHPANDE. After 6 weeks in a coma with a tracheotomy 6 blood transfusions they could never explain a authorization paper someone signed my name illegally to 2 strokes all during my nightmarish stay at metrowest I made it to Brigham where they saved my life and got me out of mwmc. I am back home with my kids and my husband because I am a fighter. Stay away from this hospital these Dr's only care about money they do not care about human life and they will try to take yours before they even let you fight for it yourself. .. I wish I could rate this hhospital -1000000 I would. I do not want a reply from customer service because your apology about my review will mean nothing to me...

Don't go there for Day Surgery unless you are planning on paying your co-insurance up front. They gave us an estimate, told us no surgery if we didn't pay, and then after we got the explanation of benefits they charged us double what we owed and won't give us a refund until the insurance company pays.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE, WE RUSHED MY 18MONTH OLD TO THE ER 6/10 1:00AM HAVING DIFFICULTY BREEATHING. WE WERE GREETED AND CHECKED IN, IN A TIMELY MANNER. WE WERE LEFT IN THE ROOM FOR 45 MINS WITHOUT ANYONE CHECKING UP ON US. I DID CALL FOR A NURSE AFTER 30 MINS OF WAITING, ALL SHE COULD TELL ME WAS THAT THERE WAS ONLY 1 "ONE" DOCTOR ON AND SHE WAS SUPER BUSY. I REMINDED HER THAT MY DAUGHTER WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY BREEATHING
WE WAITED 15MINS MORE, THEN I TOLD MY WIFE THAT WE WERE LEAVING AND TAKING HER TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL . FUNNY TO SAY WE DIDNT EVEN GET A CALL FROM THE HOSPITAL ASKING/WOUNDERING WHAT EVER HAPPEN TO US. IT SEEMS THIS PLACE IS STARTING TO SINK AND VERY POOR PATIENT CARE/WELLNESS
I WILL BE POSTING THIS ON ALL MEDIA SITES AND WRITING TO THE HEALTH BOARD AND NEWS CHANNEL 5,7.
THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE, THANK GOD NOTHING BAD HAPPEN TO MY DAUGTHER WHILE UNDER YOUR CARE. OTHER WISE YOU WOULD BE HEARING FROM MY LAWYERS.

Billing department can create a lot of problems. Nobody seems to be able to explain anything in the bill. They absolutely refuse to work with you and / or insurance company. If you have an option, go to U Mass Memorial Hospital.
