Obviously their mission is wonderful. And I would love to support it. But twice in a row now I have not been able to drop off food. The first time I showed up at 5:02pm and there was not a sign of life anywhere. Today I showed up at 4:58 and I could see people, but the gate was locked and I couldn t get in.

Closing down at 5pm is inconvenient enough for people who need to leave work early to donate. But if the hours are 9-5 then at least actually stay open until five!

BTW, in the few minutes it has taken me to write this review, the parking lot has emptied out completely. I have worked for non-profits my whole career and the only time I am ever done at five is when I am freaking trying to make a donation to the food bank!

I went for the first time and really enjoyed working as a volunteer. Our work for the shift took an hour and we boxed up food that will be delivered to elderly people in Utah. I was amazed with how organized, efficient, and easy it was. The whole experience ended up being a lot of fun.

I've volunteered here many times, and the packing I do is very enjoyable with friends. You do busy work, but it's something that anyone can do. Simple instructions and you're able to help so many people! I love love love going here! Thank you Utah Food Bank for helping me be able to help others.

Great place to visit and volunteer at. I come with a group of middle school students every year and they love sorting the food to help those out across the state who need it. The food bank people are very well organized and my 30 students were able to sort almost 6 big totes of food in about 1.5 hours.

Great opportunities exist to volunteer here. I took my family of seven on a Saturday (scheduled an appointment) and had a blast. We honestly had a blast together and wanted to stay longer. For all the blessings in my life, it is a small token to give back and spend time there among such wonderful people.

They may help people but worst place to work it took me a year to get on and work for them and when i did it was a joke. I had the transportation manager supervisor whatever he was never respond when i would ask a question. I would show up to work 15 minutes early everyday one day after working there a month i finally confronted the boss over me i asked him if he even wanted to hire me and no response. I had got back to work and cleaned out my truck just like every day. And the boss told me come in at 10am tomorrow i said ok wondering what was going on so i went and asked the human resource person she didn't know why. She then went and asked the ceo what was going on and after a month of even seeing the ceo he never said a thing so back to the meeting. I talked to h.r and she left for a few then came back with m.r ceo and told me they were letting me go because i was not a good fit yet i did my job got along with everyone they all talked to me no problems and they make you wait weeks to get things to do your job i waited 3 weeks for a key and a work phone i guess they expect you to use your data and they won't pay for it nothing and some of the stores they are jerks but hey so if you want to be yelled at and verbally abused this is a great place to go for that if you want respect and not to be forced to be a cookie cutter work anywhere but the utah food bank

The only problem I have with the food bank is that they give out expired food all the time. All I ask is that my food is edible and not expired. please check the dates on the food before giving it to people. Other than that the food bank has been very helpful resource for my family.

First let me say these people are rude! They expect you to know exactly what needs to be done and how to line up. They treat you like you are trash.
They rush you through the process making you feel as uncomfortable as you could feel and embarrassed to be there. It's not like it's easy to ask for help in the first place.
Then I get home and start putting food away and had to throw half of the little they gave us in the trash because it was beyond bad!
They said we can only come ONCE a month and this is what they give us?
I understand it's donated food and time but they could look at dates check for bugs and for open boxes. The family's they are helping are not garbage and we don't want to feed our children garbage.
This is not fair!
I found Bugs and Meal Worms in our Mac and Cheese. Mold on bread and open Cereal boxes.
Cans of food extremely old and bad meats.

I volunteer twice a week at the Tooele Food Bank. I m impressed with the staff and the other volunteers in how professionally this service is ran for those in need. There s s allot of work to take in donations, weed out out-dated items, separate, organize, and rotate the food types, prepare weekly distributions, prepare single serve meals for the homeless, and daily cleaning of the facility.

Just received a request to donate. Would love to. Charity suggests to me giving, not getting. From what I looked up, it's really good to be Jim for what he is receiving. I don't want to donate to an outfit who organizes donated labor and the CFO, CEO whatever, is making bank. Waiting to see a Charity that pays the head a reasonable amount? They may start out with honorable intentions until the money corrupts the original intent.

They are extremely strict, closing for entire month of July. We're lucky that they help us out. I ate an entire carrot cake to myself to celebrate getting my diploma at SLCC and my weight loss journey. They mention my sister but not their names (even when I ask). Unfortunately, this is the societal "norm."

Plan on getting a lot of canned corn, moldy bread and expired unsafe food. WORST management I have ever experienced. Food in Need of Distribution is someone they should contact to help make their program better.

Management is overpaid and useless, especially Andrea Mackris, the volunteer coordinator manager. She's rude, is unhelpful when scouts need help with signing off on their projects. In fact, if you're a scout, don't try to do a food drive with the food bank; no one knows how to sign you off or knows anything about what you have to do. Upper management (Jinette Bot) is a shmoozer more than anything else. All they want is money. Donate elsewhere.

Volunteered here for a work event. It was so great to see how the food bank works! This is a vital service that our community needs. Any business owners who sell groceries of any kind please donate to the food bank things you can't sell instead of throwing them away.

Make sure You use Google maps not Apple because they have not updated the address to the new fabulous warehouse that used to be Walmart. They took cases of really good food that was just a map to be expired and I was grateful.
