Arsenale is a very underrated spot in Venice because it's considerably off the tourist path and it's not really an attraction that you can go into. But it's still a much more peaceful, quiet neighborhood and there's some good food in the area so it's 100% worth exploring. December nights in this area are really cool btw because it's spookily quiet. Surreal.
Ways out. But was a pleasant walk along the water to visit this historic shipyard.
Magnificent landmark which is designated as a military zone. The area outside this shipyard, however, has nice views and wide spaces to enjoy the sun. Not too busy when we went and had a nice time clicking pics and taking in the calm waters on the sunny day. Definitely worth the visit!
An important historical monument, for hundreds of years the Arsenal represented the foundation of the maritime power of Venice. Perhaps the first industrial complex in history, in the sense of serial production and organization of the production process. If necessary, he was able to set up hundreds of galleys in a short time. In front of the entrance there are some significant war "prey", including the stone lion that gave its name to the port of Piraeus, also known as Porto Leone.
Venice one of the most beautiful cities in the world ...
it makes you feel beautiful (how strange)
A plunge into the past when Venice dominated the Mediterranean. The lions on the portal take us back over 2000 years, the lion of Delos is from the 8th century BC, the lion dodel Piraeus, the largest is from the 4th century BC, to see!
Explanation of politics, economics and sociology of the great Venice.
A very accurate and precious exhibition of objects and models, documents and memorabilia.
You appreciate the quality and quantity of things to see. It deserves 3/4 hours of seafaring pleasure.
I share my pleasure in seeing the nautical exhibition
To be visited absolutely.
Beautiful to see. Where mass tourism has yet to come
Very nice and great place to take pictures of something different from Venice.
Sure if the Biennale. A pretty mixed bag in my view, but unique - should be seen.
Very beautifull. Too bad not being able to visit the interior
That is the same argument of the Gardens. The Biennale is always interesting.
Nice place for a banquet. Not necessarily easy to find the entrance in the evening.
A charming place, unique in the world, atmosphere and lights enchant
Quiet area ...... alleys and views not to be missed.
Great exhibition place. Going every two years for Biennale.
Tall photos ... Architectural landmark in the landscape of Venice
Wonderful place. Our best walk in Venice. Quiet and relaxing area, far from the hustle and bustle of Rialto or San Marco square.
The real Venice it was fantastic . Well off the tourist trap.
I was fun and the people are so nice. The scenery is so beautiful
Large pavilions for the exhibition of the art biennial which, in some works, does not leave you completely satisfied. There are no signs for the exit. Inside there are toilets and a bar / restaurant.
There's not much to see, but the outside is nicely done.
Very pleasant discovery far from Venice for tourists. Beautiful architecture and very good restaurants nearby.
Perfect fortrest location. Historical place, must see the museum
This ancient complex of shipyards and workshops is worth a visit, which forms a very large part of the city of Venice.
Symbol and glory of the navy and the undefeated Venetian fleet, now ransacked by foreigners.
Very nice place, but they do not let you enter without authorization.
It's not as crowded as in other places. It's more intimate.
One of the symbolic places of the Republic of Venice. Visible only in certain circumstances and events.
Venice
I don't add anything else ....
One of the symbols of Venice, the entrance portal is remarkable, to visit
Touch the Story. Majestic and monumental example of past history.
Beautiful Venice, beautiful Arsenal sin that can not be visited inside.
Visited the 2019 boat show. Very suggestive location.
The history of Venice through the evolution of its ships.
It turns out a new way to visit this city that lives on the sea and from the sea has had so much.
Beautiful with the Amerigo Vespucci moored in front, suggestive, I saw men in uniform just around there, in the rest of the city nothing.
Great place if you want to feel like a local in Venice
Very positive experience. I saw so many interesting things.
I often go to the Venice Biennale. So practically every two years. a truly original and particular space where you can visit and immerse yourself in contemporary art! there are many recreational spaces and maybe to enjoy a cup of coffee! I was always surprised by the huge turnout inside to visit the biennial. The staff is very nice and you really feel comfortable
Lots of history here, a must see if you are in venice
You can't go in, but the view of the entrance gate next to the canal makes up for it.
One of the must-see places in Venice. Also excellent as a location when turned into a nightclub.
