Thank you TFS for making the whole process so easy for us. We are quite happy with the system and it was nice working with you all to get it done.

TFS Solar exceeded our expectations before, during and after our installation. They continue to do so even now that we're not even directly dealing with them, by donating money to charities when people we refer to them sign a contract for a system. Even our solar system they installed is exceeding expectations. It was designed to produce about 95% of our annual needs and it's actually producing more than what we've been using, by a good amount. I have absolutely no qualms about recommending TFS Solar.

We ve now had our TFS-installed solar system in place at our residence in Tucson for 1.5 years, and we are very very happy with the performance of our system!

Given our roof orientation and adobe tile roof, we were only able to install 20 SunPower panels. We were advised by TFS that based on our power usage, we could expect these panels to provide approximately half of the power needs at our home. I just checked the SunPower app, & over the lifetime of our system, it s met 48% of our electrical energy needs! This percentage would have been closer to 50%, as TFS estimated, but we re now charging our new, all electric Chevy Bolt at our home as well (see pic below).

As seen in the second pic below, TFS also did a great job installing our panels to minimize any visual impact/intrusion to our neighbors.

We re currently charging our Chevy Bolt using Level 1/120V charging, and TFS will soon be installing a Level 2/240V charging station to speed up charging of our Bolt. While the addition of this charging station is a very small project for TFS, it s great to see TFS s commitment to helping past customers and also to TFS s commitment to fostering additional green efforts by its customers!

From the initial consultation, to installation, to County inspection, to TEP activation, TFS s performance was exemplary in every way. As such, based on this first hand experience, we give TFS our highest recommendation!

We just had solar panels installed by TFS, and everything went very smoothly. Their price was competitive, and they kept us in the loop each step of the way - no surprises. Some of the permitting steps took a little longer than we had hoped, but that timeline is out of the hands of TFS (city of Tucson, TEP). Once all the permits and preparation was done, the installation only took a day or two. So far, everything has worked perfectly!

We had a very good experience with TFS from start to finish. In our first meetings they made a real effort to deepen our understanding of designing a right-sized solar system for our needs, of how the interaction with our electric company would play out and, of course, the status of state and federal tax credits. No hard sell, just straight info put into context.

Happily we got bumped-up in the installation schedule. The install crew was clearly experienced and focused on the work at hand and did a great job. Along the way they were wholly responsive to any of our concerns about conduit placement and other aesthetic issues. At the tail end of the job, after the electric company and the county signed off, one more quality control guy came out tweaked the system and made sure everything was in optimal working order. A job very well done.

Now that we've been up and running for a few months it now seems clear that our break-even point for our investment will be much sooner that we anticipated.

They also met with a building committee in our community and dealt with electric company to meet all local and state regulations. When we returned to Tucson the unit was up and running. The system is producing power beyond my expectations. The power production shows the quality of the design and panel placement.

I went three months with a negative power bill. Now that we re getting toward 100+ degrees I expect my A/C units will out consume my solar, but right now I expect to be at close to net zero on an annual basis, but we ll see. Given that I was only expecting my bills to be cut in half, that s outstanding.

Out of the three companies that gave me an estimate, TFS was the best.
Best price, best pitch, most professional. There were a few problems along the way, but they handled those with ease. From the salesperson, to the installers, to the office personnel, all were veery friendly, helpful, and focused on completing the job and satisfying the customer. Than ks, job well done.

We just had whole house solar installed by TFS, and the experience was fantastic. The reason we chose them over others in the area (we interviewed five companies) is they offer the new LG panels with a twenty-five year warranty. None of the other companies were offering this specific panel. They gave us quotes on three different options, and the ones we went with were priced in the middle.

I was home during the entire installation process, and the installers were unfailingly polite and considerate, cleaned up after themselves, and were generally wonderful. I would say that this was the most pleasant process possible, and the best experience having a large crew work around my home that I've ever had.

This company is extremely professional and we felt like we were in good hands the entire time. I was impressed with how efficient and detail-oriented they were, and their communication was top-notch. Typically during a process of having work done around our home, there will be moments where I wonder what we got ourselves into. I never had a moment like that with this process, and that's really saying something. They even took care of dealing with our HOA, which I'm sure anyone living with an HOA will appreciate.

I have been wanting to go solar for many years. When I found out how affordable TFS made it, I jumped at the chance. I talked with 3 different Tucson solar companies (all had been recommended to me by a knowledgeable friend), and I decided TFS was the best choice. They were great to work with. I am extremely pleased to be supplying 98% of my energy needs with solar power. My main reason is to reduce my carbon footprint, but I am certainly happy to be saving money.

Technicians for Sustainability installed a 25-panel array on our roof three years ago and did a superb job from start to finish. The design installation was tricky because we live in an HOA that frowns on VISIBLE solar arrays because ;they can distract from the prized vistas in our old foothills neighborhood. While several other solar companies told us to ignore the HOA because state law says an HOA can't stop a solar installation, TFS offered to work with the HOA to create an array that the neighbors would approve. TFS went through several iterations until we found one that was low-profile enough that it wasn't objectionable to the neighbors, and yet didn't reduce the efficiency of the solar production too much -- landscape instead of portrait, 15-degree angle instead of 25-degree, and the purchase of one extra panel to offset the lower efficiency. A win-win for everybody!

The TFS relationship continues through their monitoring of the system -- they called us the day they noticed the system wasn't producing and quickly replaced a defective part under warranty.

We had TFS install our solar system in March of 2017. It's now December 2017. We couldn't be more pleased with both the installation and the performance of the system.

It was a pleasure for someone like me (an engineer geek) to speak with someone who was very knowledgeable both technically and also marketing wise regarding what was available, quality, technology, etc. when we were planning our system. When installation came we enjoyed the installers who clearly were again very knowledgeable but also careful about how things got put together. I was very pleased with the way that they cleaned up after themselves and were very careful of the edge of our tile roof, etc. There was a delay waiting for the final inspection before we could turn it on and they were very careful to neatly stow everything until that occurred.

Another fun thing was when the inspector did arrive he mentioned the quality of the installation and asked who had done it. When I said TFS he said -- oh they were known as being the best installer in the area.

The system is performing as described by TFS and I like the monitoring that is done on a continual basis to ensure system performance.

Can't say enough good things about TFS and about going solar. I can't believe that it's not a requirement here in sunny Arizona.

TFS recently installed solar panels on both our house and our parents' house. They were very careful in evaluating where the panels needed to be on our roofs to maximize production. To our delight, the panels were installed a few weeks earlier than we thought they would be! The systems are working wonderfully. The online consumption monitor is really fun (and addicting) to watch. You can see in real-time how small usage changes in your home change how much electricity you use. Pretty cool.

They were professional. They ran into 1 glitch when installing but resolved it within 1 days. We have had a wonderful experience with TFS. Our solar power system was installed this fall. Throughout the planning and installation process, TFS employees were friendly, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable. The installation team was a well-oiled machine - clearly they are very experienced, work together well, and have fun while they're doing it. They were great with our house, our dogs, and my curious toddler during the installation. The PV system is working great - our first electric bill since the installation was -$22. The online metering system, where you can see how much energy you are producing, is great. We have also been happy with the process of obtaining the solar loan through TOPCU. I can't recommend TFS enough!

TFS and our solar system has been great. Our utility bills were slashed We are making enough energy from the sun annually to cover the lights, water heater, appliances, and HVAC on most days, and the system is outperforming all expectations. TFS is the only company, out of three, that returned my phone call when inquiring about installing solar. I had left several messages at other local companies that were not returned. The installation was fast and the advice on what to do to get TEP to hook you up was very concise. The installation crew was very professional and polite. I had to replace a very poor car-port roof to make sure that it was ready for solar installation and did a complete re-coat of the roof of the house..it was a great learning experience. I think the cost was very reasonable and have already received our tax refunds.

Called to get service for my solar water system but was advised they only work on systems they installed. The company that installed my system is now bust so this was not helpful for getting my system repaired.

We had TFS design and install our solar panels which have been operational for over a year now. The company was a dream to work with and when there was a mistake made in the installation of the panels, they quickly corrected it to our satisfaction. We love being part of the solar power movement and lenjoy seeing the proof in the putting on our electric bills! Do It!

I found TFS online, and after comparing reviews with other companies, chose to have them install a PV solar system on the roof of my home. I have experience in home construction, including Registrar of Contractor standards and complaints. TFS did extremely fine, detailed work. The planners and installers were highly skilled, and I am very happy with the end-result. I strongly recommend TFS for installation of a PV solar energy system.

The difference with TFS vs other solar installers is that the majority of the employees are part owners of the company. They have a vested interest in doing the job right and installing a quality product.
I was a little hesitant at the idea of putting holes in my flat roof for the brackets, but the installers did a fantastic job and put multiple layers of flashing and sealant over the attachment points.
The electricians did a nice job with the installation and made a point to find the most suitable location for the inverters in the garage.
Since the panels have been up and running my highest electricity bill has been $34 and that was in January when we had the electric heat on alot and a few dark cloudy days. The bill for the same period last year prior to the panels was over $200.
It looks like I'll generate more than I use in Feb, March, April and May which should offset the heavy air conditioning consumption over the summer.
The solar edge app is a fantastic feature which provides real time data on how much power the panels are producing, how much the house is consuming and how much excess is going back to grid.
The best part is I just got $7,000 back on my taxes $1,000 from the state and $6,000 in federal.
I'm not a big tree hugger but it feels good to know I'm doing my bit. It feels even better to know that I'm selling the excess electricity to my neighbors!
I don't regret my decision to install solar. I estimate mine will pay for themselves in 7 years. The panels are guaranteed for 25 years so the numbers made sense for me.

TFS did a great job installing panels on my roof. They were very professional and reliable. I highly recommend them.

TFS has installed two PV systems (current and former home) and two solar hot water systems (current and former home) for us. Their work has uniformly been outstanding. The quality of their work is outstanding, and their installers are top-knotch. The TFS crews are smart people and ready to adapt to conditions onsite.

TFS did a great job with the installation at a competitive price, and they were willing to work around the shade of my tree on the south side of my house. Working around the tree definitely added some complexity to the installation, and another solar company told me that anything but removal of the tree was a "deal breaker". It's always a worry when your roof is going to be modified, but the installation looks great, they even have roof mounts that fit my existing "s-tile" dimensions and form-factor. The panels are raised slightly above the roof, aiding in the cooling of both.

If you're going to go solar, this company will do you a solid.

The system produces exactly the amount of energy I need, the installation crew took great care in their work, and on the rare occasions I've needed some advice, tech support has responded quickly and with clear information. And everyone I've dealt with at TFS has great personal skills, too.

In short, yes, we are extremely satisfied with the design, installation and support of our PV system.

The entire process was handled professionally and efficiently by all those involved. Beginning with the site visit through the design and revisions, while all along, answering questions thoroughly.

We were regularly kept informed of the status of the project and coordination of the installation went smoothly.

We ran into permitting issues with the City and TFS went above and beyond talking with the City and explaining the options available to us. I m sure this case consumed more time than anyone anticipated.

Without this information and TFS' help, I doubt I could have resolved the issue with the city engineers, flood plain manager and permitting office in an expedient manner.

The installation crew were a joy to work with and very friendly. They patiently humored my questions and kept me well informed of the progress and daily schedule.

The startup (turn on) went well and and explanation of all of the system components and the metering left me confident I could intelligently relate any issue over the phone.

I subsequently had questions about the performance of an individual panel and the functioning of our array which again, was handled professionally, with TFS patiently explaining until I completely understood.

The best compliment I can give Technicians for Sustainability is that I continue recommend, without reservation, the company when asked about solar company search process and subsequent installation.

TFS Sent David out to our house to review our goals and option for solar power. He spent about three times as much time as all but one of the other 4 advisors that came out. One other one did not even come out, they just e-mailed a quote telling what we needed. A sixth one wanted to do a phone conference. We looked at many options and with david always available to advise, he even responded to my e-mails when he was away for holidays, we made our decision. There price was actually higher but not by much and well within the," you pay for quality range". We were told that we should expect an April install, Then called and had an opening late Feb. There crew showed up and the nxt day it was finished. The crew were all pleasant and cheerful. The work was professional, very clean. I would highly recommend TFS for your solar needs and installation! From the beginning, they were able to educate us on how the entire process works and gave us guidance to help formulate what we wanted. We ended up with an amazing customized solution where we dont have panels on our rooftop deck, yet they are optimally positioned on other areas of the roof and yielding significant power. They also paid particular attention to the asthetics in digging the trench and the cabling towards the roof encompassed in a clean stainless steel sheath on the back of the house. I find myself frequently looking at the data monitoring that comes with the installation, and relish that our family is changing habits in energy conservation. Its great to also see TEP paying us back for the additional power our system is generating! Finally, I love to support local businesses especially when they are as experienced and professional as TFS.

They will make it right. If you are patient, very patient, they will sooner of later make it right and you will end up with a great installation, top quality materials and excellent workmanship.

A number of my neighbors recommended Technicians for Sustainability when I asked who should install my PV system. Soon after receiving my request for information, a representative made an appointment to provide me with information about solar power generation and installation of the system. His explanations were clear and unbiased and his attitude reassuring. There was no pressure to move forward with them. Because of this positive introduction, I made the decision to proceed with their installing the system. Due to an impending deadline for qualifying for the old net metering rate their workload was heavy. None-the -less they installed the system within the time frame they had promised. My experience with certifying the installation by the City of Tucson and Tucson Electric Power was frustrating. TFS, however, helped to expedite these steps. I did encounter minor technical issues with the system that TFS addressed quickly. Overall I have been delighted with my interaction with all of the employees I met along the way. Given this positive experience, I recommend TFS without reservation to anyone considering solar power generation.

As an electrician by trade, I tend to scrutinize the work of others, but I am always impressed by TFS. Fantastic job from TFS. Out of the five companies I consulted with prior to going solar, TFS was by far the best. No sales pitch, competitively priced, straightforward answers to all my questions, and excellent communication throughout the process. You will be in good hands with TFS.

We got a solar system for a great price, and we love that the loan is through a local credit union. The installation was fast and we honestly haven't thought about it since! We're very happy with TFS.

My wife and I are really pleased with our solar system. We switched to swamp cooling around the same time the system came on line, so when the sun is shining, we hardly use any power from the grid (except when the water heater comes on. I was surprised how much electricity the water heater uses!).
We were quite pleased with the installation process and thought the workers did a very good and professional job, especially the group that installed the inverter and replaced our really old circuit breaker panel. They worked hard despite the heat (it got up to 108 that day) but made sure we had power back before the end of the day.
I was really pleased with detailed information we received before the installation when we were trying to decide whether or not we wanted solar panels; the analysis TFS provided which included utilization graphs and estimated savings, was useful in helping us make our final decision.

We had such a great experience with TFS team from installation team to meter setup process and the overall project had been very smooth and on time. Working with the Technicians for Sustainability was a pleasure. Everyone I met and/or worked with (Brian, Tamarack, and Alyssa were the three I worked with most) were completely professional, highly qualified, and more than willing to be flexible with my own complications. I ended up going with a 6.9kW Sunpower setup, and for the last 6 months my system has been operating I've been completely satisfied. It's been operating at or above the estimates I was given for its production, but even better, it's been completely hands-off for me.

I went with TFS because they were cheaper than most of the other options I took a look at, when I first got in touch with them they were quicker to respond and more willing to answer my endless stream of questions than any of the other companies I reached out to, and lastly the warranties they include are extensive (5yrs TFS power production, 10yrs P&L transferable, 25yr Sunpower power production).

My electricity bill is down to flat-rate infrastructure fees etc. I did get a much larger system than I needed, though, and I would say the trick to making this a good investment is to really know your power consumption habits (I had only lived in the house for a month -August- before I asked for my system to be designed, so my estimates were on the high side).

We could not have asked for a better solar installation experience. We'd heard nightmares from our friends that used other companies: months and months to activate their panels, mis-filed or delayed paperwork, etc. TFS is a local company that is intimately familiar with the whole process, end-to-end. We were assigned one point of contact to shepherd our installation through the twisty requirements for TEP paperwork, inspections, installation, and activation. We live in an old house and TFS was very responsive to the particulars of our installation. There isn't a company around that couldn't learn something from the way TFS does business and treats customers.

On the fence about solar? Who wouldn't sign up for a savings account that paid 11% interest? Solar can get you a return like that for your money. A green decision in more ways than one.

This is the year I went solar. And the reason I did it now is because several friends had done the same, with Technicians for Sustainability. In keeping with my friends experience, I can tell you that this is an outstanding company. Their procedures for working in this pandemic are excellent. I am a public health professional so I do understand what is needed these days.
Their first step, providing me with estimates for several options, was very detailed. And my questions were answered thoroughly and clearly based on expertise and experience. So, I signed their contract. TFS professionals handled everything, from TEP requirements to my HOA Board.
Once everything was installed and TEP gave the approval to proceed, again TFS professionals walked me through the process to switch to the new system. My first electric bill, in this summer of record breaking heat, was less than half of my usual bills for summer and for the previous summer months this year. I have had a few questions since my system became operational and those were answered quickly and in detail.

Our experience with TFS was great. We had another solar company come to our house and they basically told us that solar would work. Dave with TFS came to our house and worked up a creative solution and walked us through exactly what we could expect. The installation crews were super. They worked through the challenges of dealing with a 1930 house that's seen multiple electrical upgrades and went above and beyond to make it work. As a bike commuter, I loved seeing them arrive by bike most days - at the end of the job they left everything clean and better than before. Top notch experience all the way around.

Despite anticipated long waiting times I signed the contract. Much to my surprise the construction date was put forward by a full two months. Whole experience could not have been better. Everything with TFS went great! I know we wouldn t see huge savings immediately, but Aprils bill was $19 and we already had a $13 credit. I m very happy about that. Plus the app helps me see exactly what s going on with the panels and the reduction of carbon foot print which makes me feel kind of good and want to do more.

Down the road we will probably get an electric car and maybe even add batteries in the next few years or so.
