The review is about the guided tour. It was expensive for me ($ 560.- resident price as of 03/10/20) since we toured the entrance, the golden room and the theater itself in which we could not take photos. The guide and excellent place but the excursion does not justify the price. I recommend going directly to see a play, where you can see the same places and appreciate the scenic art for the same price.

A tip is to go to the ticket office and ask if there are any upcoming dress rehearsals or other free performances, which is already a great chance to meet inside without paying anything. Also, keep an eye on the schedule and go ahead and buy tickets, because some sell out very quickly.
Very touristy but the guided tour is very well constructed

The best seats for shows are more expensive and usually sold out months in advance (over 1000 pesos), especially for ballet. But you can get tickets for little money (200 pesos and above) or attend to rehearsals for free. It is worth it attending to any kind of show there.
