The wait time to speak is 12 minutes. Then 10 minutes in, the wait time says 20 minutes! Then you get hung up on. INFURIATING! I was told I'd get a person to call me back to help me figure out how to fill out these unintelligible forms on line 4 TIMES! It never happens!!!! It took four months to receive monies from them. 80% of the women answering the phone were terse, downright mean, and unwilling to help figure out the online paperwork. There is absolutely no reason why I should instinctively know how to answer these questions.

I have called and emailed multiple times to no avail. I have called, only to be put on hold for over an hour and then have the call disconnected by them. The last time I called, after being on hold for almost an hour I was told an issue with my account would be corrected by February 15th. The issue is still not corrected and yet again I am on hold for over an hour. I have not received a single response to my emails. I am very disappointed in the lack of service.

If you need to call trsnyc be prepared for a very long wait, and inaccurate information in the responses of the, often, rude employees. A really frustrating experience. Very rarely you find a person who wants to help with your questions.

If it were not for the UFT, I would not be alive today. I had a stroke 21 years ago and had to retire. The office on Queens Blvd. was so wonderful. They advised me to take a 6 mos. sabbatical for restoration of health bc my doctor said perhaps I could go back to work. After the six mos. that sabbatical ended, he would not authorize me to go back bc I still needed more pt and ot. The Medical Division was also great when I was examined. I turned 55 the next mo. was able to retire bc I was Tier One The downtown office was also terrific! The UFT was wonderful speaking to my dr. with the utmost respect.They also gave my son, who had just graduated from college excellent advice and referred him to a therapist. Anytime, someone says something mean about unions, I tell them I am living proof of how the UFT helps its members! Love you guys!

Wait times on the phone of over 3 hours. Wrong forms were mailed to me. Forms I mailed to them were lost. It took over 1 year to have an account transferred. Possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Teacher of 5 years. If I knew it would take months to take money out of my own account for help on a down payment for a home I wouldn't have started my TDA account in the first place. New teachers - really consider your options. They give you hell to withdraw your own hard earned money for cases that are time sensitive like providing funds for mortgage loan. Still waiting on receiving my own money.

All I can say is wow.. I m lost for words. This is the worst company/ business I have EVER dealt with.. from the wait time, to the customer service, the incompetence, the rude attitudes, I mean I can go on all day. The sad part about this.. there is nothing we can do.

The website does not give enough options for benef...

The website does not give enough options for beneficiaries to obtain necessary forms, for example a name change. Also, you still must send snail mail in for notarized forms. Many of us are teachers...do we have hours to call and wait during the day before 4:00? No!
What else is wrong :You email them again and again- no response. You call - expect hour long waits. You try to schedule a Zoom meeting - they they only give you a week of options and all are taken. While the employees have been friendly in the past, the system is just awful and truly unprofessional.

I called this morning and had the most professional and delightful experience over the phone. I had a shorter wait time than expected and was provided with more information than expected that proved to be critical for my financial future. All of my needs were met in record time and the information I received exceeded my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised and am grateful I pushed through my anxiety and made the call. Thank you TRSNYC for making my morning experience a pleasant one that has proven to be life changing.
