Teachers on call makes you feel very professional in how they assist in job assignments and extra trainings. I also like the flexibility within the website to be able to choose which assignments I would like.

Aside from being able to choose when and where you work, this company isn't that great. I had teachers calling up the company I work for, making bogus things up about me. In the last two years, I had at least three or four teachers making false accusations about me. In addition, I had several schools canceling assignments LAST MINUTE on me. I was in my car driving to one of the schools when they called to cancel! If you work here, WATCH YOUR BACK!

I had an efficient and streamlined experience getting set up to become an occasional sub. I have found the trainings to be particularly helpful and high quality. Hope to be able to continue working once things open back up.

I love working for TOC. I am able to create my own schedule which is nice. The pay is also nice too!

As a new substitute teacher, Teachers on Call assisted greatly in getting right to work. Their online platform made it easy to customize the teaching jobs, and the additional benefits and online courses supported continual development. Highly recommend

I no longer work for Teachers on Call, but it was definitely one of my favorite employment experiences. Hours are flexible and there are usually plenty of assignments to choose from. Its a good job if you are looking to go into education. The only cons of the job are that there aren't many opportunities in the summer (if any), so you may or may not want a second job. Otherwise it was a great experience

The hiring process was extremely quick and easy. I was able to accept my first assignment as soon as all the paper work was finished. The staff at Teachers On Call were extremely helpful and quick to respond. I highly recommend TOC.

I have worked for teachers on call for two years now, and absolutely love it. The company really values its employees, offers support, training, flexibility in hours and location, and kindness! It s a great place to work, especially if you have school aged kids.

Also, when I was pregnant and had horrible morning sickness I was able to cancel an assignment (call in) without hassle. Now that I have a LO at home having flexibility is extremely important to me.

I ve been with Teachers On Call since September 2019. Using this service for substitute teachers makes the whole experience much more personal & flexible to discuss scheduling & any issues that may arise! They are always available during the day or even evening to take my calls or emails so I can usually get a same day response to any question!

I overall loved every experience i ve had good experiences at the care centers i ve subbed at. My only thing is if you want a set schedule this isn t the place for you. The downside is say you take a shift for the whole month, they could easily just cancel all of it at any time. I know the hours aren t promised, but it s still very annoying when you wanna work and commit to taking hours and they just cancel last minute. Especially when they consistently cancel.

The staff was very friendly and positive. Throughout the interview process they were extremely helpful and responded very fast when I had a questions. During Covid-19 they have helped keep me up to date on free training. I love working for a company that is helpful to their workers. I enjoy going to different locations to see how other centers work.

I have been working with this company since January, and I have no complaints. The system for picking up days is very easy to work with and provides all the information necessary. Payment is always on time and training modules are offered on a regular basis. I also really appreciate the flexibility that this company offers. I can work every day if I want to or work as little as a couple days a semester. That is very helpful for a student.

They are a very nice company to work for. Very understanding and very flexible!

Stay Away. At first, working here was nice but then a different company bought it and it started changing and not in a good way. One day, I counted the system called me over 30 times! They have all sorts of low-paying positions that nobody else wants and so if they get ahold of your phone number, watch out!

If I could give this zero stars I would! Horrible unprofessional reps that could care less, except that they get a check each month. They offered no help as I'm a semi-retired professional teacher with a current teachers license and schools who still employ me as a substitute teacher.

As a semi retired I only could provide the last two supervisors who i worked for the past 7 years. before that I owned a restaurant for 20 years. I subbed several years before my last job but the references are either moved away or dead! Therefore i couldn't get my application processed as they require 4 references.
How dumb! They the system that requires 4 refs passed the buck back to TOC from this company who had no clue on a solution???? Go figure.

I love TOC! It has been the best work experience I've had. Total flexablility and freedom to pick my own hours. I get to work closely with all age groups too! The office staff is extremely helpful always and treat their employees with respect. I would highly recommend TOC to any teacher.

I have worked for TOC for almost seven years. First in Wisconsin, and now in Minnesota. I have been able to teach 5 days a week in the schools that I prefer. They offer training for many different teaching areas to make sure you are at your best!

I have worked with Teachers On Call for a few months now. They are extremely timely on helping with any questions you may have. They also provide many different professional development opportunities for you to grow as an educator. This organization is ridiculous. It shouldn't exist. The attorney general should launch an investigation regarding their business practices. All they do is process the intake info and screen for HR. I get no bennifits, no sick days, no maternity leave, no paid holidays, and they take a big bite out of my hourly pay. Substitute teachers desparately need a union.

I have been working for Teachers On Call, a Kelly company for over a year now and I love it!

Enjoyed working as a sub a lot going around to different schools and picking my own schedule. The flexibility was great and the pay is good but as an employee ypur not valued and if you become sick no matter how sick you are (even hospitalized) if you dont tell them at 6:15 on the dot you are written up regardless. They are quick to write you up on minor things otherwose I enjoyed working with them.

Teachers on Call is a one stop shop. Good place to work.

In my year of working with them. It has been an extremely poor experience. Very disorganized, rude, and slow to respond. Not only have had issues from my rep but also in calls trying to fill positions. I was looking forward to working with the school I grew up attending. It s unfortunate that they work through TOC.

Teachers on call makes it so easy to substitute. They have quality newsletters and a friendly staff.

This staffing agency is great. It's not TOC I dislike. It's the TEACHERS I have to work with on a daily basis that I don't care for.

They frequently don't even bother to greet substitutes or give them any instructions. One teacher, never said a word to me the entire day I was there, even AFTER I said Hello. He basically ignored me the entire time I was there.I even saw him playing on his phone quite a lot! Also, the students are really disruptive and hostile, as well.

Overall, the staffing agency is great, though.

Hard working and caring . They only accept high quality professionals, so if you are average or below, don't waste your time.

I have enjoyed working for my local district with the help and organization of Teachers on Call. They make it easy to create a schedule that is within my availability. The flexibility, while I am mostly needed at home with a young family, can t be beat!

There is little respect for employees. Their only concern is filling the shifts.

I've been working with Teachers on Call as a substitute teacher since last September, so almost an entire school year. With Teachers on Call, I am able to work in multiple districts and schools and pick the ones that I feel are the best fit for me. Whichever different school or district I work with through TOC, it all just comes in a single paycheck through TOC and makes it easier logistically with taxes, etc. Through this entire extraordinarily new for everyone COVID-19 situation, TOC has been proactive to provide wellness tips, explanation of benefits that employees can take advantage of, helping to find work opportunities, and more. I've been very pleased with my experience with TOC and would highly recommend it! 5/5 stars!

I love working for teachers on call! A great company that has my best interest always. They made the process of getting my licenses very quick and easy and continue to send me updates of things I should be doing in order to better my substitute teaching experience. I was a substitute teacher before my school districts transitioned to using Teachers On Call, and I ve been very happy since becoming a part of the TOC substitute community. Teachers On Call made the initial on-boarding process very smooth and easy. Their introduction meeting was helpful, and each encounter and phone call I ve had with TOC staff has been very friendly and efficient. TOC is connected to various school districts which opens the door for more job opportunities once you are a TOC sub. They sometimes e-mail a list of job opportunities before the regular substitute system shows them, and they also notify subs of long-term opportunities. TOC provides optional training/professional development opportunities both online and in-person. There are many topics to choose from and it s a great plus to continue growing as an educator! I also appreciate that TOC pays every Friday for the previous week s work it has been very helpful to have a more consistent paycheck and not have to wait 2-3 weeks. Overall, I think TOC is great for helping substitute teachers feel more acknowledged and supported as they provide extra communication and benefits to us. I enjoy working as a substitute as I get to have experiences in a variety of grade levels and schools while having flexibility in my schedule. It is rewarding to know I am helping teachers and students as a substitute teacher, and TOC has enhanced my subbing experience!

I work for TOC and have loved it! I have only been able to pick up two shifts, but overall the company keeps their staff up to date with free online trainings and assignments. I have enjoyed gaining more experience in the schools before I become a teacher myself. I love the flexibility of the job and they are great at notifying you of openings in your area. I have worked for Teachers in Call for 3 years now. I love the flexibility and able to schedule on my needs. They have been great with communtication and understanding.

After retiring last October I was able to fulfill a 41 year goal of being a teacher. I obtained my MN and WI substitute licenses and joined TOC. The connections they have with so many elementary schools in Western WI and the Twin Cities area allowed me to teach full time according to my schedule until the schools closed. The staff has always been so helpful, from the onboarding to answering questions that I have never felt out of the loop. I love teaching and can t wait until we are back in the classrooms.

I wish I could give this company a zero. I have a teaching degree, a current teaching license, more than 4 references and that is not enough to sub. It is unbelievable.

I have a PhD and have work for TOC for almost 3 years. Nothing but great things to say about the experience and staff.....friendly and helpfull. I cannot understand the negative comments I have read because that has not been my ecperience.

I had to go to this location for fingerprinting and was very impressed. I was able to get through to a live person and talk about the hours, and then went to get it done. It was so smooth and slick and everyone was so friendly!

I've had a really good experience so far with this company no surprises. Online booking system could use a revamp but they make up for it with an exceptional in house service team!

Easy company to work for. The charter schools are pretty good to go to work at. This is a decent sub teaching company.

Cons:They need increase their wages. Some of their wages have been frozen since 2016. Might be time raise them a little bit.

Don't Waste Your Time Here...
I had people frequently canceling assignments last minute on me, wasting my time. In addition, most of the teachers and students I was stuck working with were outright rude and I'm moving on-good riddance!

Teachers on call is a very reliable and incredible company . The professionals that help you get on board are very detail oriented , very friendly , very patient and flexible. They provide immediate job placement. The hours they Provide are also available and consistent . The environment that they place you in are very clean and friendly . Great pay available for thoes who are certified , licensed, substitutes and Also thoes who are new to the childcare field . Teachers on call is a AWESOME PLACE TO WORK FOR .

As a former teacher now in the corporate world, I subbed for this organization a couple of time when completing another degree. Process much too long for $15 an hour. This isn t the FBI and they need to either pay a lot more or have less requirements

I love teachers on call! Its alot of fun to work with a variety or different students and get to know them all. It's such a joy to be able to make an impact on children's lives! The staff are extremely nice. They are quick to respond to phone calls and emails. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. I'd highly recommend them as a company!

I am a subbing for a school district.

My experience of going through Teachers On Call has been positive. Other reviews may differ drastically, but this is my take.

Starting with the application process, the On-boarding Specialists have been helpful in getting through the material, and helping me to attain my short-call license.

Whenever I have a question (as I did today about an issue I had with scheduling), the employee took care of it in a matter of seconds. The employees I have spoken to are very polite, and they take care in making sure I have everything I need going forward.

The calls do not bother me, and they are manageable. I schedule text alerts rather than calls (though I have enabled calls for a few days, that's what I choose), as well as an app that allows me to "Accept" positions that Teachers On Call / Frontline forwards to me.

I've had no issues with TOC while working for them. They are quick to help and I've never had issues contacting them to resolve an issue.

How disappointing that a company who is created to put professionals in the classroom would not allow a certified, qualified, willing, background-checked individual to keep their availability open for working with children. Because according to TOC, I did not sub "often enough," a great school district has lost a substitute teacher. School districts have enough issues getting willing and qualified people without companies like this putting more barriers up for them.

I ve been a substitute teacher with TOC for three years. The process for setting up location preferences is easy and staff have always been responsive and helpful. Online training is also offered, which is is nice bonus! I ve been treated well and really enjoy being a sub!

Do not work here, BAD COMPANY, overall. If anything goes wrong and a school complains about you or makes FALSE ACCUSATIONS they will ALWAYS side with the school.

In addition, I was ASSAULTED while working at one of the schools in St Paul, MN and have been frequently missing money on my paychecks. The schools can also BAN you for little to no reason.

Don't work here unless you can't find anything else.

I have been working with TOC for 2 school years. I have been subbing for 13 years. The people at TOC are helpful if you have problems or questions. I enjoy being able to get signed up for jobs quickly, but it is essential to use an app like jobulator to not miss jobs. Another advantage is the free training available to keep up with CEUs , which I struggled with finding opportunities in the past.Now, I have more opportunities!
Another perk is getting paid weekly. I also like the flexibly of being able to work at different districts if desired that use TOC. Overall, I have had a positive experience!

I have been working for a Teachers On Call since February (2020) and have really enjoyed it. The transition from working for a district to becoming a TOC employee was smooth and efficient. They excel in their ability to communicate effectively and always in a pleasant manner. While I hope to find a full-time teaching job next fall, I am happy to be employed with TOC.

Having been a classroom teacher before applying, I found the application process to be very drawn out. It took more than a month from start to finish. As someone with clean background checks and previous teaching experience, I feel a month is way too long to wait to be approved. I understand wanting to get quality teachers, but that is ridiculous. Obtaining a full time teaching position doesn't take that long!
My emails were not responded to at all, or if they were, it was within a few days. I was not very impressed. Not to mention all the phone calls I received from TOC about sub jobs...even when I indicated that I did not want to receive anymore calls for the remainder of the day, I would get 20 more! I ended up not subbing at all through TOC, as I had jobs secured with other districts not through TOC and eventually secured a full-time position. It really is too bad, because as a teacher myself, I know how difficult it can be to find a good, quality substitute. Teachers On Call was not very convenient which was very disappointing as many districts in this area use their services.

I read some of the other reviews, and I am quite surprised! I didn't have that experience at all. I have no previous experience in education, and was hired into a role! The employees were helpful, and the hiring process was pretty easy. I don t even have a teaching license! The work is fun, and I love the new position! I don t have a college degree, and was given multiple options for classrooms I could work in. Teachers On Call has great roles!

I love the flexibility Teachers on Call offers and how simple the organization makes it to work with special needs and Pre-K through High School kids in learning various subjects and behaviors, to select schools near by, and to manage a schedule in advance up or to the day. The communication, training and support is superb, again very straight-forward and I constantly hear words of appreciation from the schools for the work we Teachers On Call (substitutes) perform. The kids really need the paraprofessional substitutes and I feel like I make a difference. Thank you for letting me be a part of schooling kids in my community. .

Started as a part of this company this winter. Like how the company is organized and able to choose assignments accordingly. Also, like the training opportunities available for substitute staff.

I like being able to work when I want. Otherwise, this job isn't that great. They can cancel on you last minute and even if you are on your way to a job, you don't get paid. Overall, I do like being able to work the days I want and pick the schools I work at. It's not all bad.

I ve only been working for Teachers On Call since February, but I have already had such a wonderful experience. Whenever I call, the staff is so positive and ready to help with whatever I need. Finding subbing jobs is quick and easy. I would recommend Teachers On Call to anyone looking for subbing opportunities.

So far I've only been on three para assignments, two for an Elementary and one for a middle school. I am learning a lot on how to interact with children. It is very interesting to witness the craft of educating children take place. Teaching is learned not only via educational classes but from what I've witnessed through observation of a seasoned teacher in the classroom.

I started working for them in February 2020..... Working for them is one of the BEST decisions I have ever made. They provide you with the training that you need in the beginning AND then continues to provide training throughout the school year. They will answer any questions that you may have and will help you in any way possible!!!

I have been employed during the 2019-2020 school year through Teachers On Call and have been very happy with the subbing services they provide! I have had a job every day that I wish to, and have also been able to complete a long term maternity leave for 7 weeks through TOC. I really enjoy the amount of courses they offer for substitutes to take for continuing education hours, which are at no additional cost to you as a sub! The application and hiring process were also very easy. I taught first grade for 10 years before leaving to stay home with my small children, and working as a sub through TOC was the perfect way to move back into education as a transition time with my family.
