Used to be great to deal with. Last few months, an absolute disaster. Impossible to get ahold of anyone - wait forever and then call drops OR better yet, can't even get through. Chats take forever and a day. They make changes and don't tell you what it is - send you a document, but doesn't even explain what was done. Terrible service.

Complete garbage. Nothing but a robber. Got into a small accident but clearly a no-fault. However, they tried to charge me 50/50 by reading the rule book without even taking a look at the pictures of the incident that I had. When I complained, they said they are going to send an appraiser to verify the damage on my car. When I asked when, they said they don't know i.e. maybe forever. What a stupid answer. Even before the claim was solved they probably tried to extort more money from me by asking me if I want to fix my car in their preferred mechanic shop. I cancelled the claim. They are quick to give you a call if you make a quote online but as slow as a turtle to verify the claim and compensate you. Private auto insurance should be banned. It should be controlled by the government. Less likely to get cheated by greedy corporations.

Every time I call im on hold for over an hour just to talk to someone. Please change the music, I dont want to hear it again for another hour. Please hire more people to answer the phone.

Waited over 1 hour and 30 minutes on hold on a Thursday afternoon. No answer. Called back and waited another 30 minutes listening to their hold music again, still no answer. But my rates skyrocketed, even though I have never made a claim and been with them for 10 years. Money well wasted.

Although I've had some long waits and not great experiences over the past 5 years of service, they've been one offs. Most recently I've moved provinces and needed to switch everything over and get home insurance and both times I've dealt with Mark from the Halifax office and he is fantastic. Makes things super easy, simple, and efficient. He's great to deal with and I was happy to get him on the phone a second time!

Could not reach them. Waited for 90 minutes one day and 62 minutes a few days later but could not reach anyone. Also sent a fax and a registered letter explaining my needs and asking them to get back to me. They did not. This was 2 weeks ago.

I have been trying to speak with someone since Sunday afternoon to get my insurance info as I have lost my insurance card. I have been on hold for hours at a time with no answer. Yesterday I waited for 3 hours on 2 different occasions, this is totally unacceptable. Happy to take my money every month though. Perhaps what I need to do is purposely skip my next payment, I bet they would contact me pretty quickly then. Anyone have any recommendations for another insurance company for home and auto?

Amazing experience with this company. They were fantastic during the Slave Lake wild fires and even hand delivered a check to my wife who did not have a vehicle in Edmonton during that time. Auto insurance seems really great at first. I got in an accident that was deemed no fault of mine. They tried to undercut my payout by $1000 and acted like i was wrong about the value of my vehicle. When it was time to pay out for my car they basically disappeared. Never answered the phone, didnt return emails or messages. Also waited for two weeks for an adjuster to call about physio and massage which i needed for injuries. Still no call. Same story for rental vehicle reimbursement. I had never been in an accident so maybe i was a bit naive by thinking they were really great at first, but i would highly recommend staying away from this insurance company, theyre dirty.

Purchased a used car yesterday. Between my son and I we were on hold ( couldn t get through) for OVER 6 ( SIX) HOURS.
No answer to the chat function, and again today, going on to 2 (two) hours and still no luck.
So ZERO Customer service

Please avoid it at all cost. I was with them for three years with clean record means no history of accidents or claims or speeding or parking tickets. But they used to increase my premium 300 - 500 dollar per year. When I called them for reason they told me there was a increase in number of claims in Halifax and to compensate that they increased my premium. What a ridiculous reason!!!! So basically I had to pay for other drivers' faults. Then what's the point of having insurance fot me! I am so happy I cancelled their service and so happy with the other provider I am with now. I heard that TD insurance is not that bad in Ontario, so I guess it's the problem with the management in Halifax. God knows why all the scamb**s round up in Halifax.

The product and pricing are acceptable but the standard of service is much, much below expectation. TD insurance is good for those who do a lot go of homework and have the time an patience to be their own advocate since it will not necessarily be forthcoming from T.D..

really bad, I had insurance with td for over 2 years, when I first called to get insurance I was insured in literally 10 minutes over the phone with a slip emailed to me, easy!! and cheap. I sold my car and cancelled my insurance until I bought a new vehicle. When I bought my new car ( Hyundai Accent, they told me I can no longer be insured unless I fill out an application which can take up to 2-4 weeks to process, they told me to call another company. my record is clean, I had 1 small ticket in 9 years of driving.

I was out of country for 2 years. Prior to leaving I set up an auto renewal on my house insurance. There was a problem with the auto payment after one year. TD had my email address, but I did not receive any email notice regarding the problem. When I returned to Canada this May, I found out my house has been without coverage for a year. I talked to a TD insurance rep, was charged $104 and told I could not renew with TD Insurance. I have an excellent credit rating and am disappointed I am being denied service for a problem that could easily have been resolved by email. This is extremely poor customer service

Foremost this location is closed. TD has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. They ve been charging me for insurance that I called to cancel TWICE, and have done so for two years. The past 3 times I ve called to have it actually cancelled I ve been on hold for between 3 and 7 hours. Please do not use TD for insurance if you have another option, everyone I know with TD has had similar experiences.
