My son agreed to bridge through Tri County Tech this past year. As an educator and former professor at another in-state institution of higher education, I must say how disappointed I have been regarding his experience at Tri County this year. He has had teachers who will not return his emails when questions arise, keep office hours so that students can have face to face meetings, speak with students to address concerns before or after classes, nor have relevant experience in courses to which they are assigned to teach. Grades are not diligently posted so students have little knowledge about their current status regarding GPA. Overall, I have been gravely disappointed in the experience provided at Tri-County. In hindsight, I wish he would have stayed in our local town and attended classes at another institution of higher learning. Vision truly is 20/20 as I look back.....

There was not a 0. Star option.

There was not a 0. Star option.
The financial aid office act like they have no idea what they are doing. Business office doesn't either, and they even put me down on my application that I'm out of county when I have lived at my residence in Anderson county for all of my life, and don't want to pay back my money. (Thousands of extra dollars) as far as academics go, it's about the same. There is only one teacher worth having here, his name is mr. Little from the science department, this does not reflect his outstanding teaching ability, he doesn't belong here. He is the only reason I still attend this college

Came here yesterday the experience was horrible I felt like I was being rushed out. No one talked to me or share any information about the school. So I'm suppose to spend 40 to 50 dollars to join a school I know nothing about and after then you'll decide if you'll accept me or not. I don't think so when there are any school out here I can apply to that will take their time to talk and interact with me.

I've called for over a month to get a transcript, they took my name each time and told me they would give me a call back, never did each time! Finally talked to someone today that apparently had some sense about herself where I was told I would have to do it myself. I've never been so aggravated with a school.

I have never had an issue with Tri-County. I've been here for a 2 years and will graduate soon. Staff are always so welcoming and friendly. If you have a problem, TC Central is quick to help and point you in the right direction. I had a family emergency last year and the college was quick to work with me. My teachers were there for me as well. The instructors don't treat you like some kid; they treat you like an adult and they don't act superior. I love this college and I would stay much longer if they had Bachelor's programs available.

Just based on the enrollment process, the services offered are horrible. The school is the most unwelcoming I've talked to. The staff is condescending in how they talk to and treat you. My success coach/advisor I've never met and her voicemail practically says she doesn't want to be bothered. Calling for help and information is the most frustrating. Nobody can answer or help. This place seriously needs to have an employee meeting on how to talk to, treat, value and encourage new customers/students. This situation really makes you consider that long drive to Greenville for another school option. I'm almost disappointed this is the "homeschool" choice! Please try harder tri County Tech! I will be updating review based on future attendance. If I can figure out this enrollment process on my own!?! Maybe the school should hire an enrollment team, people who just help students through this process. I kind of thought that's what the success coach was for but nope.

Tri County is Conveniently located and some courses transfer out. Those are the only plus sides. They have a very limited staff consisting of under qualified teachers and employees. The turn over rate is pretty bad. The financial aid office is the WORST. I have stood or called and argued with them for hours on the same subject to later prove that I was right from the beginning. You have to jump through all kinds of hoops to get any kind of assistance and when you do the staff is rude. The parking is awful. The Drop out rate, Transfer rate and graduation rate truly reflect the education and staff this school provides.

Everyone seems nice enough here, but the paperwork...

Everyone seems nice enough here, but the paperwork required for this place is...extreme. I've attended two other colleges before, and I have NEVER had to submit this much paperwork for anything I've ever done. I honestly thought it was just a crazy admissions process, but it just keeps going.

Prime example (after admission): The residency paperwork. I can understand needing several of the things they ask for, but not ALL of them. (So many trees have probably died due to all the paper involved.) I'm hoping it's a SC state law thing, but if it is, we really need to address this with government officials.

You have to submit copies of:
*Completed residency application, with a notarized affidavit for your domicile. (I can't find anything online about them having a Notary, so I guess I'll have to call them or track one down locally.)

*Based on the residency application, it looks like if your spouse/guardian provides more than half of your support in the 12 months prior to your application, they require their signature be notarized as well.

***The best part about the whole "needing your spouse/guardian" info on everything, is that your residency is then based on THEIR residency (or at least that's what it looks like). Better hope they're an organized person, because you're going to need a copy of EVERYTHING about them. Just keep reading.

***Note: If you just said "Well I'm financially independent, I don't need all that extra paperwork", you would be wrong. Even if you ARE financially independent, you'll still need a guardian or spouse's tax return anyway. Hopefully that will be the only thing you have to get from them. Still sucks for people with estranged family though.

*Copy of lease, rental agreement, or closing documents
*Federal and state income tax returns (for self AND spouse or guardian)
*All your documentation for any income. So, W2 forms, 1099 forms, most recent pay stub showing year to date income, for either yourself and/or your spouse/guardian
*Vehicle registrations for any cars you and your spouse/guardian own
*Copies of your license, as well as your spouse/guardian

In the event your application is rejected, you'll need to reprint all of that documentation to resubmit it. I know they don't want to be responsible for documents, but with this much stuff, I feel like they should at least let you off the hook for some of it.

Keep in mind that my experience so far with the people has been great! I'm sure when I call to ask about this litany of requirements, they will be very nice and helpful. Maybe the classes will be wonderful too once I finally get to that point.

I guess my best tip to offer people is to start gathering all this paperwork when you apply. It might save you some time later. Also...maybe invest in a scanner/printer. You'll need it.

This school is a joke. The people in financial aid are no help, as well as the general employees. They can spend millions on an unneeded building, but can't create more parking lots. Half the teachers here suck and should not have been hired at all. Good luck graduating from here, as they try and make you take summer classes and pay out of pocket. Staff is rude and they try to play the victim when there is a disagreement. Save your money. Don't go here, go to Greenville or literally anywhere else. Not worth the money and time. Also, they treat bridge students better than normal students, it's complete discrimination.

This is for most of the advisors, in other offices...

This is for most of the advisors, in other offices phone calls never were returned, teachers don t teach, some teachers hardly grade, other teachers grade too many fussy things like your name being in the correct spot of the page or whether you can correctly spell their name or whether you came in class on time rather than 2 seconds late so we re just learning how to deal with the boss of your worst nightmares not actual content I guess, bad attitudes, too worried about electronics rather than letting you figure out how you best learn, too concerned about the length of your shorts in the blazing hot summer when you have to HIKE to class, I ve heard they want to address the TEACHER parking but NOT THE OVERALL parking, given zeros for work missed while in hospital/doctor notes, library hours are kind of wack, food is overpriced, air conditioning doesn t cut on until you get there first thing in the morning so it s usually incredibly hot and stuffy inside for at least an hour, most teachers are cocky (they think they re the best), lots of staff strive to make you miserable not successful / to prove you wrong so they can always be right (which isn t human, like we all make mistakes), the website is AWFUL for so many reasons, attendance is too strict based on the way they take attendance, paperwork at the school didn t look necessary or make any sense sometimes (office stuff), available classes were not always shown thru tctc class scheduler like they re supposed to, advisor often had incorrect classes in mind for what I need to take because I m a transfer student so I know this by asking the school I wanted a degree from exactly what credits it required, etc etc etc. the worst part is my advisor harassed, insulted, and humiliated me about the sexual way she believes my appearance to be, she mocked it even though as the BBW she is you would think she understands the struggle to cover up or keep everything together at all times (especially after running around the incredibly exhausting campus)

Went into this colleve a few uears ago to fimd out about the nursimg program. The woman i spoke with was very condescending, she informed me that it was a very hard course & i probably wouldn't make it. All this without even knowing anything about me. I have been in the medical field for year's, this place is a disgrace and have no idea how to treat prospective students.

Everytime we had an issue, it got corrected. As a visitor, I got a parking ticket, made a call, got it fixed. As a student, my daughter had favor with all her teachers and some had to be brutally honest with her, but to her benefit. When she had to made corrects to her bill due they helped quickly and rectified the changes made. Highly recommend for transfer students.

I moved here from Florida in March and enrolled in April. I was told on the phone that my course started in a few weeks, so I start getting prepared, then was told by the info center that I had to wait until the next term, only to recieve a letter stating that I could enter the class in a week or so! They are not thorough and I have also been ignored by the infocent when I questioned the timing of the courses. They rudely disregarded me and have done this three times. I am not pleased with this place at all

The whole process was awful trying to get through orientation and everything that I needed for admissions. Every time I thouvht I was finished, suddenly there would be something else they emailed saying they needed. And then if I needed to call, I would keep getting put through to like 10 different people, just to find out they don't know the answer. It was an annoying process and the advisor was rude whenever I called him. And that's not all. When I started classes, the professors didn't help me, and one of them was extremely rude to me. All of this was NOT helpful, especially during these hard times with corona and all. I was hoping to have more help with all of this instead of all the staff acting like I should already know everything. If I already knew everything, I wouldn't have even needed to apply for college in the first place, huh? I'm just overall disappointed with my experience. I am not saying to those who are reading this that y'all don't need to apply, but just be warned the process is hard and a lot of the professors don't care. I'm saying maybe look at other tech colleges first because maybe they'll help you better than they did with me.

If you're a dual enrollment student, great place to be. The huge problem I have with this college is that they take attendance. Because of an unexpected hospitalization, I was forced to withdraw from ALL classes. Luckily in my case, it was only one class, but assuming I was actually attending the college, I would struggle greatly to graduate.

The gentleman I spoke with in the admissions office spoke to me in such a condescending and mocking way, I left the school in tears and trashed my dream of studying health care administration. He literally laughed at me and asked me what made me think I was cut out to be a health care administrator. Asked if I thought I may be more cut out for some sort of medical office assistant instead. Way to encourage someone to better herself. Now I have twins graduating highschool this year and have to choose between sending them to Tri- County or Greenville Tech, and they BOTH have horrible horrible reviews.

Tri-County technical college is by far the absolute worst school I have ever attended. As the faculty and staff do not show that you are valued, you really feel under appreciated as soon as you step on the campus. I attended here in hopes to earn an associates degree in business administration which is on track to be completed in 2 years. This will be my 3rd year and they just keep tacking on classes that they say I "need" in order to graduate. It is very clear that they only want you there to get your money. I know that similar scenarios has happened to a few of the people who were either in my classes or my friends, so I know that I am NOT the only one with this issue with Tri-County. Someone needs to fix this school and its policies and they definitely need to hire new staff that will actually value the people who pay their paycheck.
