In the past, my experience with Target World has been similar to the other more negative reviews talking about bad customer service. But I recently went up to get some range time and everyone was great. I talked with several staff members asking questions about different models they were selling and they were very helpful and attentive. No complaints at all. Maybe there are nicer ranges, but you'll pay a lot more too. The rate was $16/hr and I'm fine with that. Will be back.

Great customer service! 5/?/2016 I recently took my daughters shooting for Mother's Day. It was very instructional and helpful and fun. It's very important to have good teaching when handling firearms. Safety first! I think this is become our new Family outing

We just finished our concealed carry course at Target world. The instructor is very thorough and helpful. He made everyone feel comfortable enough to ask questions and it was fun!! Highly recommend!!
Do not go here to buy ammo. Do not go here if you are a beginner and have questions. Do not go here if you are a clean freak. Go here if you are experienced and need a cheap place to shoot. A membership to point blank is $80.00 per month. That's $960.00 a year. Target world is $275.00 per year. For your whole family. Do not come here on Saturday every for any reason. If you go enough times you can find a nice employee. Yes most are arrogant and rude but ignore them.
Good selection and best hours of any shop, but the good news ends there. They have the worst cockiest salesmen of any shop I've been to in the area. Spend your hard earned $$ elsewhere where they don't talk down to you and treat you like a customer.
I was recently introduced to Target World when they received a handgun for me from Arizona. They charged me a mere $25 and had the weapon ready in one day. Acting as a receiving FFL is an excellent way to gauge a dealer s customer service because they make nothing on it. It s a loss leader.
I discovered that Target World has an excellent stock of weapons and very competitive prices but it is really their staff that sets them apart. They are friendly and helpful and just plain fun to talk with.
Sasha was patient about showing me anything I wanted and he was very knowledgeable about brands and models. Emily was equally knowledgeable and very well versed on the topic of gun safety. For example, she explained why pregnant women are not permitted on the range. After the first trimester, the sonic percussion can affect the development of fetal hearing. I had no idea but once she explained, it made sense. In fact, all of the staff is sharp at Target World. One of their previous employees is now the Regional Representative for Sig Sauer. That should tell you something.
The next time you are near Tri County, wonder into Target World and look around. I think you will feel right at home and you will be sure to learn something.

Yes cheaper than Point Blank but the range control was no where close. Took my family there and the range was pretty packed. The guys there were trying hard but were struggling to keep up with the crowd. The ranges were over booked and rushed. The riffle range took them time to set up. If you're going by yourself yes this is a great place. Groups not so much. On another note their sales people were extremely helpful and obviously knew their stuff.
You know, I went here to see why people hated it so much. Well, I didn't hate it that much. They have little tables next to each station which is incredibly helpful. So the bad: the hangers for targets were bad. Small targets will not fit so you have to use big silhouettes. Then its the sound. Man their range is loud even with good ear protection. My 9mm was as loud as outdoor-no ear prtection-shooting. My 45 was pretty unbearable. I've used my ears at every shooting range I've been to, but this place is the loudest. Beyond that, no one cleans up their shells, I barely could because I wasn't gonna be someone elses maid, and my feet were flooded by my neighbors shells. Next, my neighbors were shooting a .454. Those things are as loud as howitzers. I could barely stand the couple shots they put down range because of the sound. But mainly, people just came over to watch and stood right behind me. After a few more shots tgis one guy started jumping around and really came close to bumping me. I backed him up, but there should've been someone there to manage all that. So to stop rambling, it was cheap and I got my shooting in, but its not a place to take ur friends or your kid for their first time. It'll get the job done, but I'd rather make the drive to pointblank or ready line.
So. I placed an order with Target World on May 10th for a Springfield Saint Victor AR Pistol in .308. I put a deposit down of $340 dollars. Its been 13.5 weeks since then with very little in the way of information. I have contacted Target World multiple times to get an update. Each time it seemed as if i was an inconvenience to them. The two times i spoke to the manager over orders in person, he literally didn't seem to care. I went in today to attempt to get a refund of my deposit since it has been 88 days and i still did not have my order. I was refused to get a full refund as Target World claims that 20% of the deposit is non refundable. They offered me $80 dollars of my money if i wanted to cancel. This non-refundable policy was never told to me when i placed the order. The policy is not on any paper i signed nor was it on the receipt i originally had. If i had known it was non refundable i would not have entered into this deal. They were flat out uncaring and unconcerned when i told them i wasn't doing business with them anymore. I would NOT recommend Target World to ANYONE for ANY reason with this kind of poor customer service.
Good selection of firearms but terrible customer service. There are a ton of employees who think they know it all and share untrue information about firearms thinking that the people they are selling to don't know any better. It's a good place to look around just be wary of any advice given.
I wanted to provide feedback based on a purchase made at Target World recently. I purchased a new Colt AR LE6920MP-B, Bill helped me with the purchase. He had also helped me when I came in to look last week (I hadn't been to Target World for several years). Not only was Bill very helpful and knowledgeable, but he was very nice to my wife and mother-in-law who were with me (and both are shooters). This doesn't happen very often at gun stores, who knows why. I had multiple choices on where to purchase this firearm. Bill's helpfulness is one of the reasons I chose to make my purchase at Target World and why me, my wife and my mother-in-law will be back when considering our future purchases.
I have been to this place several time and never had a problem until this weekend.the employees there were so rude and disrespectful. Especially one man that was there he would just speak to everyone with disrespect. And his words exactly were I love being sarcastic especially when the day is almost over. He called people ignorant and that was and is not called for. He was lieing to people about the rental policies and gun rental. When asking another employee about a particular gun they did not know anything about it. I went there this place with every attention to purchase a gun but the way I was treated this weekend I will never give them any more of my money and I will definitely not be purchasing a gun from them. Beware of this place because if you have the attitude these workers had this weekend, I would not feel safe around them. You never know what goes on in a person mind and being around guns and being sarcastic does go together. Also the lack of customer service that was shown this weekend was not acceptable and know one should ever have to go through what I went through this weekend. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE.
Great customer service and good range and gun rental prices but the store and range is old as h*lll and needs to be updated badly yyyyyyyy the shooting range is small and very close also. I going to try another range and see how they are for now.
I have no idea how no one has died at this place. There are no range officers and the person running the range is a complete and utter ass. He was slightly bigger (think Chumlee) and decided to mock someone after asking a question. The people that go to this store are sketchy as well. People shoot handguns sideways and without any safety. Enjoy getting flagged. Customer service was decent though. Someone was kind enough to show me various firearms and was genuinely interested in helping me.
I had a great experience here by a gentleman named Peter. He was very nice to my girlfriend and I and made sure we were well taken care of for our shooting needs.
The people behind the counter that I've encountered are nice, and have had good conversations about various ammunition and small game hunting. I like the handgun range better because it tells you what distance you're at vs the rifle where you have to eyeball it based off marks on the wall. As a beginner shooter, I love the fact they will lend you ear protection. I've never noticed any safety concerns though a previous reviewer is right -- many holes in the ceiling. I know I've put a few there along with my novice friends. It isn't a huge red flag to me, though it does indicate that there are many inexperienced people shooting here. To be clear, I've never bought anything except range time and a few rounds from them, and have only rented two handguns from them which worked beautifully even in my amateur hands.
Customer service is pretty bad. Don't even bother calling because your call will not be answered. It's actually pretty ridiculous the lack of respect that representatives have for customers trying to make a call and ask questions. This is a direct reflection of poor management. I recommend knowing what you want before you walk in. It's hard to see their long gun inventory because it's all stacked up and difficult to see. The handgun inventory is the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars.
Bad review. A lot of the employees try to show off with what they think is the "holy grail" of knowledge! They do know a lot about guns, but push the boundary between what is factual and what is their "Opinion"!! They need to work on their customer relations!! Don't treat everyone as if they know nothing about weapons!
Used to be a great gun store to buy guns accessories and to target shoot. Now the customer service and follow through is deplorable recommend going to another store and to another range

Target World is and has been my go-to gun shop and range for years, and my experiences with them recently have only served to cement that opinion! Their staff is helpful and informative, and even with all the panic buying clearing the shelves, they still managed to help me find exactly what I needed at a reasonable cost (Can't beat ten dollar twenty round Bushmaster AR mags!). They have a ten person capacity currently (4/19) due to the pandemic, and have increased overall customer safety with policies designed to limit close exposure to others. They weren't rude about enforcing it either. There were a few occasions when people in the shop would cluster, looking through the various display cases, and the staff were polite yet diligent in asking them to spread, showing that they both cared for customer safety and customer service. With new gun purchases, they offer a free hour of range time, but as their ranges are closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the clerk was kind enough to extend the expiration date on my certificate, ensuring I would be able to redeem it. With competitive prices and a customer service minded attitude, Target World will continue to be my "Home Base Shop" for firearms and related products, though there are competing places physically closer to me.
I called target world to check out what they had and do a little phone shopping because I live fairly far and didn't wanna waste time and money traveling for no reason, well I had the pleasure of speaking with tony about a Glock 42 & 43 . Tony ( Anthony ) was very nice and knowledgeable about both pistols , took the time to tell me about both , I really liked that because normally gun shops rush you off the phone and tell you to come look in person. Not Tony ! which lead me to visiting target world the same day and buying a brand new glock 43 , I also got a free hour on the range which was great to test out my new CCW. Shout out to Tony for great customer service and customer patience . Something you normally don't get.
Great customer service. You may wait at the gun counter for a minute. But if you want the right gun and knowledge of your gun, the wait shouldn't be a problem. Huge selection. Good prices. And very knowledgable staff!! I also got an hour free in the range after buying my 9mm:) I will definitely recommend this store.
Just left there and I honestly wanted protection for home they accused me of trying to buy one for my friend just because he was with me I had him with me because I m not knowledgeable in this area but I wanted a nice gun and didn t want to be taken advantage of as women ... this is their way of not selling to blacks it will be reported to the news and whom ever else went to another gun store was told we were the 4 group of blacks to come complain had to purchase from them they re happy to service us target world would never get at dime from me
Just wanted to mention that we were very happy with the personal interaction experienced with Pete who took care of our request for range time and targets. Even helped me with my new pistol when I had a question about it. He also suggested ammunition that would work better for my semi auto pistol. He was polite and very helpful.
Took a business associate from China to Target World to experience our second amendment freedoms. Pete set us up with rental equipment and some range time. He also showed my guest several large handguns. It was a great experience and Pete did a great job. The experience opened one set of eyes in China. Thanks Pete.
I've taken my 11 year old son there three times and the only time we've had to wait was when they were busy, which is understandable. I don't understand the complaints of safety or lack of "range officers". If you are not comfortable around firearms, maybe it would seem dangerous and you should find a farm to shoot alone. The shady character comment is absurd...all I ever see there is normal everyday Americans.
Worst. shop. ever. Staff and building are horrendous. The staff and ownership are greedy and rude! I wouldn't go into that range to save my life; it makes me nervous just being near it. Prices on their firearms are the highest I have ever seen!!! A lot of the clientele is very shady. There are plenty of other options in the Cincinnati/Dayton area like Point Blank.
Joe, who works behind the gun counter has given me exceptional service. I rarely ever write reviews, but he took care of me and some. Very knowledgeable. He cleaned my AK right in front of me and showed me the step by step of how to do it properly. Also gave me a great deal of details on my M39 Mauser I had just purchased and knew nothing about. I have been there to buy guns/accessories and use their range in the past, but I certainly was not a loyal customer. I now am, for life.
Terrible customer service. Brought gun in to have checked out and accused me of pointing it towards him. Really?? Said he couldn't tell if it was pointed at him. Try standing up and talk to your customers in a professional manner and you might be able to see what is in front of you. When I went to pick gun up, different employee seemed annoyed that he had to even wait on me. We are your customers, try being polite, try smiling for a change.
I live in the Dayton area, and called down to Target World inquiring about a handgun. The sales rep told me they had one in stock and it was "320-325". It turns out, the gun was actually 409. They said they price match though, Olde english outfitters sells the same gun for 349. However, due to the fact that Olde English does not have a weekly sales flyer that reflects this price, even though it's advertised on their website, they would not honor that price. I work around the corner from Target World and regularly recommend them to my customers, but I'm afraid I can't send business to a company that is not willing to take care of its customers. I have, however, had two very good experiences at the new "point blank" gun shop in blue ash.
Bad service and high prices but they spend a billion on ads so you've heard of them. There are so many better shops in town. TW hasn't updated their service or prices after the new places opened. Every time I've stepped in the door I get the feeling that the sales people hate me and their job.
Best place in town to hang out and get some lead therapy! I spend so much time here I feel like family. Every time I've had any type of an issue it has been corrected. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. I have nothing but good things to say about Target World.

Just took a basic handgun class with Greg and he was awesome! Our class had some serious beginners and he really made everyone feel comfortable and did a great job covering safety and handgun foundation (stance, grip, etc). Highly recommend and will be looking to take my CCW class with him.
Nice Place, but too expensive. Don't listen to the commercials. A new gun is the same no matter where you buy it. Both their hand and range are priced higher than most.
I have visited many gun stores in my travels across the Midwest. And I got to say Target World is one of the more questionable stores I've been to. I often ask a test question of employees to gauge the quality of their training. Multiple members of the Target World staff incorrectly insisted I would need pay an FFL transfer fee (and go through a background check) for a gun part that is not a firearm.
Looking around the store, all items are marked up roughly about 15%-20% higher than other stores for the same item or firearm.
Then speaking with my boss, he tells me of his last experience on their range- in which a Target World employee had a negligent discharge into the barrier between their shooting booths. My boss reports that this round made it through the barrier and traveled in front of his face / across his nose. Then the staff of Target World proceeded to eject my boss from the range for "overreacting" about the incident.
I would highly encourage people to seek information from more reliable local gun stores and spend their money else where.
Target World has been me and my family's go to Range. I have been into shooting sports for about 6 years and I have come to this range a lot. I have went to some of the other local ranges and can't believe the prices between each place. Then I find myself back at Target World. I mean 2nd shooter cost? Really! I have only been charged for the lane whether I bring my son or my wife or father in law. As for the staff, I have Never had someone there Force a sale or treat me in any type of unfriendly way, Actually, in my experience they have been really patient and helpful with helping my wife pick out a firearm. Lol she won't take my word for it. I was really impressed with the way they took the time and explained the different types and functions of guns she had liked and they even had one to rent and try before we bought the new one. Only thing left is to get her CCW class, Hell they have that too. I love One Stop Shops.
Went in and had a awful situation/response from one of the staff implying we weren't allowed to be in the Country. Ended up going to POINT BLANK and have been loyal customers since then.

Bruce and Dan did an excellent job of teaching all the information. Even just holding my gun at home, I felt very nervous because I didn't know how to handle it or what all the parts were. With all your tips and techniques, I understand so much more and feel much more comfortable knowing how to load, hold and shoot it. Jon already said he wants us to take the rest of the classes. He is familiar with guns and shooting but I have a long way to go. Many thanks.
Tom Woolery taught our cow class. Very informative. None of the material was dry or repetitive. I learned a considerable amount about the law and how to defend myself and family. Looking forward to the next level class.
My husband and I went there on August 14, 2020 in hopes to find a particular pistol I d been researching, and we did find exactly what we wanted. However, the customer service was terrible. My husband and I both have pistols and revolvers. Some I ve brought for him, some for myself. Same way with him buying firearms for me. As some women often do, I left my purse in car, so my husband wanted to use his id for the back ground check. Employee was insistent it had to be my id because I wanted the gun, but he ll carry it too. All guns we own we both will be carrying. Husband finally said it s my gun use my id. Then he gave us a computer to fill out background check. Since my husband had a very hard time seeing the tiny screen he wanted me to answer the yes and no questions, employee got rude demanded he had to fill it out. I had to read everything to him, then he signed it. Again employee was rude when husband was attempting to sign for the third time. We are the customer, and we need to be treated with respect not anything less. I m a 40-50 white WOMAN I will NEVER BE BACK TO THIS PLACE. As a strong independent woman I will never be made feel that way again. My Husband over the years has spent thousands of dollars. May I add, the smoke filled the inside of the retail space. Group of younger adults were using range, and one of them came out of range holding a pistol!!!! NO SAFETY AT ALL ! Only good thing was target world had the pistol we wanted!
Just wanted to say thanks for the professionals at target world. Not only did I have a great range experience, my weapon seized up on me and the associate Martin took the time out of his day to fix my firearm. These guys could have said it wasn t their problem and sent me on my way, but they didn t so I ll definitely be coming back.
Today I went to Target World to return a small personal gun safe. This is one you would put by the bed and store a handgun. The safe was faulty and wouldn't read the finger without a LOT of trouble. I just wanted to exchange it for one that had a combination. Target world would not do a refund or exchange. Be aware that they have a policy that no matter if it works or not , no REFUND or exchange. This is even if you return it the next DAY. I will never buy anything again from this dealer. BEWARE.
Special ordered a bow string and left a 20 dollar deposit and took over the 3 to 10 days to arrive then charged me 50 more dollars stating that the string company was bought out and jacked the prices up. Not how you do business. Dishonest thieves.
Best case scenario you will get their best customer service they offer... unfortunately that would be par customer service at places like Premier, Point Blank and 22three and you will rarely be that lucky. The upside is they have a large inventory so you can get your hands on a gun there and then go find a better price and customer service elsewhere once you've decided.... Can't count the number of times I walked into this place with cash in pocket to buy and walked out with the same. Vote with your money.
Staff are not friendly and are standoffish. Wanted to look at a possible purchase but felt it would have been a bother to the salesman. They never smile and are not forthcoming. Poor training or poor choices in personel. I'm not sure which. They blew a 1595.00 sale today with me.
The older man behind the is a complete ass. To anyone who wants to shoot at the range it got to the point were me and my family demanded a refund ripped up our waiver pass and left. Look there are lots of places to shoot in the area now days GO somewhere else . People with the mind set this guy has shouldn't be at a gun shop or in a facility with that allows him to carry period. ...
I took a buddy of mine there last week. He wanted to buy a shotgun that was being advertised and I wanted to see about a 1911. We stood at the counter for 10 minutes being ignored by sales people. One particular sales person was standing in front of someone looking at scopes. The sales person was eating a salad and dropping salad all over the place. I asked to see the 1911 and he gave me a look of disdain and said when I am done I will get to you. I pulled out my phone, called another dealer who had the same shotgun for less and my buddy and I walked out and bought from another dealer. This isn't the first time I have had horrible customer service at Target World but it is the last time as I will not be back. I am not a person that writes reviews but this was such a bad experience that 3 days later I am still ticked.
I attended CCW class at target world and Tom was a great instructor. I learned a lot of info that I can use to keep myself and family safe. I also learned general info that I will use going forward to keep myself safe.
I went in to purchase a handgun for home defense, with an idea of what I already wanted. The rep at the gun counter was very helpful, and showed me several options for the model I was considering. Once I made my decision, he helped me with the paperwork, and then suggested some accessories for me. No hard-sell at all, but some helpful facts and advice as I made a very serious purchasing decision.
He showed me the range and gave me a card for one hour free since I just made a purchase. I went ahead and scheduled a couple classes for my wife and son and look forward to returning to use the range. They took the time to explain the range rules, and offered some advice for when I chose to bring my son in (he is a minor). It was apparent that safety is paramount.
When I completed my purchase, they carefully explained how to legally transport the weapon home (along with the ammo I bought), as well as how to remain legal when I returned to visit the range.
I went on a weekday in the morning to avoid the rush - and it was still pretty busy. Sounds like the weekends have been crazy. The only downside was that the safe I wanted was not in stock (but coming in). I can share that I was treated with respect and had a very good experience.

--- I ve been to Target World several times since moving to Ohio and I ve been more than satisfied every time I ve visited.
There are a handgun range, a rifle range, and an extensive inventory of firearms and accessories. Every Thursday night is Ladies Night (free firearm rental, must purchase ammunition in store), and the place gets relatively busy, but I ve never been turned away due to lack of available lane. The store offers a military discount and also sells Blue Label products. The prices of the ammunition (at least, the caliber I purchase) and targets are what one would expect from a local retailer; not as inexpensive as Wal-Mart, but not as exorbitant as Bass Pro, Dick s, Cabela s, etc. somewhere in between. When renting a firearm, one must purchase ammunition at the store range policy. The range provides complimentary eye and ear protection with the rental of a lane.
There are twelve (approx.) lanes in the handgun range and four lanes in the rifle range. The handgun range does get quite tropical, in terms of temperature, after several minutes of shooting, which I find uncomfortable I do find myself pretty sweaty and my glasses fogged up after about ten minutes of being out on the handgun range. And I m not even a large person who possesses an inherent propensity to perspire when temperatures are elevated. The temperature control out on the handgun range could be improved.
Customers know the employees by name, which speaks to the quality of customer service offered at the store. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to instruct. Pete, Scott, Jon, Jeremy, CJ, and Chris are just a few of the staff who I ve come to know and of whom I regard extremely highly. As a firearm novice, I have learned an unquantifiable amount about safety and correct handling protocols, which are their top priorities. I have purchased a handgun and several firearm accoutrements from these employees and have never been disappointed by a single one. I will be buying all future firearms from this store, as well. The employees value their customers and make recommendations based on experience and knowledge of self-defense and firearm safety. I have personally received numerous pointers and tips on my shooting technique, handgun care and maintenance, and caliber selection the employees will spend as much time as possible transferring their knowledge to any customer who just asks for it. When I was first starting out, I had them teach me everything about my gun, and more. I thought the handgun I purchased had a mechanical malfunction and two of the employees were out on the range immediately, troubleshooting and running diagnostics (problem turned out to be in my technique, not the gun). These guys are passionate about their jobs and it s quite apparent just from talking to them and doing business with them.
Highly recommend Target World's store and ranges.

Reviewing shooting range only. I have not visited the gun counter or the archery section. As far as the pistol range is concerned it's fine - nothing special and just fine if you bring your own guns. The range is barely supervised but that's neither here nor there. The real problem I saw was with the gun rental. We rented a gun for the first time (Rug 1911) and bought ammo to put through it and within 50 rounds it jammed 7 times because it was absolutely filthy. Very disappointed to pay for a not fun experience due to poor upkeep on a nice firearm. To the plus side all the employees we have interacted with have been very kind.
