I came in tonight to look at a gun safe, not only did I find one I liked, but I was able to get a good deal on it and the dehumidifying rod as well as a lock upgrade and electrical outlet. Anselm took very good care of me and I would recommend him for any of your Target World needs. Bob came over to help unlock the safe (someone had locked it) and he was very interactive as well. I have been buying things and renting shooting lanes here for around 10 years. One of the better places in town to get any of your firearm needs. They have a huge selection of just about everything. Heck if you go to the gun show you probably will not find a better selection of Firearms.

Firearms sold here are overpriced. Bad customer service. The gunsmith acts like a know it all. Does not know what he is doing with guns. All and all a very poorly managed facility.
Very knowledgable staff everyone is always friendly they have a lot of guns to choose from plus their range is really nice! They're about safety & making sure their customers are satisfied!
I really want to give these guys 5 stars but i just can't. Range prices are good and rentals. But most everything else is rather high. Gun accessories, safes, guns both new and used, and just misc things around the store are on the high side. Most of the staff is nice and helpful. But the last time i went, one was rather rude. I'll probably be going back. But my first experience here was much better than the last.
Would give zero stars if possible. Horrible customer service. Looking to make a purchase of an item I called in advance and they told me was in stock. Get there and made to wait 20 minutes (there were only 2 other people in the store and 6 employees). When there person finally gets to me the item that was in stock was special ordered for someone else.
I had a wonderful class i learned a lot that was very important I felt very comfortable I highly recommend target world training Tom was the best thanks a lot
HORRIBLE! Service is HORRIBLE, I waited for a hour at the gun counter to look at purchasing a pistol for personal protection. I have done a lot of research on which pistol I wanted to look at before I decided to go in to actually look at one. The gentleman that came over was extremely rude (as if I were bothering him) and he IMMEDIATELY told me the gun I was looking at was not the gun that I wanted (he must have been able to read my mind in what I was looking for, because I gave him NO information outside of I wanted to look at that particular gun). He went to another counter and pulled out another gun that was easily $300 more expensive and told me THIS was the gun that I wanted (at this point I was getting frustrated). He then proceeded to talk to another co-worker about the two .375 revolvers he had in shoulder holsters and how he could not wait to get on the range and fire them (great customer service). After about 20 minutes of him talking to the other co-worker apparently it was my turn to speak again. At this point I had herd enough about how this lunatic was going to fire his guns in the range and everything he was planning to do with them. It is people like that employee that the government is looking into gun bans. This guy CLEARLY had NO idea what he was talking about, and the professionalism went out the door the minute he opened his mouth. I will never return to Target World, I will find another place and purchase the gun that I would like to buy, NOT the gun they want to sell me.
No matter how much money you spend, no matter if you are standing there waving money in their faces, get there on a bad day and you can't get service to save your life. I once had agreed with a sales person to purchase something, they left, and no one could help me actually purchase it. I left. And don't get me started on the range. If the wrong person is running the counter be ready to stand in line for an hour.
I ain t never been around so many rude nasty individuals who supposed to want you to spend your money there... They don t Ask you do you need help. They all have the stank face on Very unprofessional environment then to top it off Their prices is skyrocket high!!!!!!!!
I attended the CCW class here and had a great experience! At the end of this class I felt very comfortable that I was walking away with the knowledge I needed. Our instructor Tom was so helpful and informative. I definitely recommend this class to friends and family.
I do not felt safe at Target World shooting range. I was there one morning waiting for a sale representative to purchase a hand gun after more than 20 minutes while he gossiping with a customer about his past military experience so I left and purchased a gun from Afield.
Went here to buy a new safe. $2000 budget buy no one cared. No willingness to answer questions or advise. Hoping to buy today but guess they're not interested.
Had a great experience there. Customer service was great from the time I stepped in the door. Pete was very pleasant and informative about everything I wanted to know. I will definitely be back!
I wouldn't buy a gun from this place if it was the last place on the world and my life depended on it. Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life
As someone who is new to the world of firearms I needed a considerable amount of help: from knowing what type of handgun would be appropriate for a CWL holder to what type of ammunition is best for that firearm. I've been in Target World a few times over the years and I know how busy it can get but one of your employees was gracious enough to take the time to help me explain some of the details I needed in order to make a more responsible decision. I believe the gentleman's name was Pete (Tall elderly chap) and I just wanted to make sure his manager knows how much this customer appreciated the "Extra Mile"
Very OK gun shop, prices weren't great even for a brick and mortar store (slightly higher than online). They also didn't have any AK mags in stock at all, no domestics or foreign mags. Store was overall clean though but the layout was a little odd. It used to be a nice experience to walk in with friendly staff working but that was about 10 years ago. I don't frequent this shop/range as every time I am there I get an unsafe feeling, mostly from the other patrons and how they handle weapons with no correction from the staff. I hope this place turns around because it is very close to my office. Now I avoid this location unfortunately. Target world used to be a great shop
I have been there dozens of times and have never experienced the rude service mentioned in other reviews. Everybody I have ever dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable. The exception may be the range counter on weekends where they aren't rude as much as just very busy. I would have given them 4 or 5 stars except for a couple of issues with the range. A minor issue is that it usually feels dirty and dimly lit. My biggest complaint however, is that they never have a range safety officer on the range (they call the cashier an RSO, but he's never on the range) That allows for a lot of unsafe behavior from ignorant and careless customers.
Because my dad was a professional sharp shooter for most of his life, I have been shooting since I was a kid. And I just can't ignore to warn others that this is the most unsafe range I have ever been to. Honestly, I am not surprised one bit to see it has a 2.4 star rating and read some of the reviews on here. There are always lights that are shot out at this range and a gun range should always always always be extremely well lit. This is perhaps the biggest issue of many. Nonetheless, I also suggest that the owners talk to their employees about some of the comments that they make to customers in an environment filled with deadly weapons. We always went to this range for mere convenience. But, we decided to never return after a comment by one of the employees. After complaining about the poor lighting, they had finally managed to replace the lights and all were working. When we returned a week later, some of the lights were shot out once again! Frustrated with the safety hazards of poor lighting at a range they let every schmuck off the street come in and shoot guns at, my father asked one of the employees how the lights manage to get shot out so quickly. The employee responded by saying that "my friends and I go to the range after it closes and play around with some of the toys, shooting out some of the lights." After he made this comment, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Whether this gentleman was joking or not, never ever do you make such comments about guns in such an environment; let alone, by an employee of the establishment to customers!!!! Til this day, I cannot believe he actually said that. At any gun range, you should always expect a sense of professionalism and seriousness, and I hope the owners start to really stress this to their employees; please please please think about what you are about to say before you make such remarks. God forbid anything happen at the range despite its lack of safety and professionalism its employees exhibit; however, I really urge people to find other ranges to enjoy their time on the range as this place is a HUGE LIABILITY. Hope this review helps; it is only out of pure concern for others' safety.
I got there at about 3 o'clock on a Saturday so I know they would be busy. The wait was an hour for a lane, but it should not have been that long. There was a lack of organization and manpower that contributed to the long wait.
Looking through the windows I could see 9 open lanes and there were about a dozen people waiting. They only had one guy at the counter to manage rentals and ammo sales he was busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger. It appeared that some of the equipment was faulty as some of the folks that did get a lane were coming back to complain about the target racks not working. I did not see a range officer once I got inside and there seemed to be a lot of inexperienced shooters, I saw one man look down the barrel of a revolver after a misfire!
Also the information on the Target World website was outdated. The prices were different (higher, of course) and the selection of rental guns was much smaller than the list on the website.
Target World is not my first choice for range time.
I went to target crap tonight to buy a Christmas present for someone and ended up waiting for over an hour before I finally got fedup and walked out. If customer service is what you look for...dont look here. And the thing was...they wernt even that busy, staff would just walk by and ignore you.
Got a great deal on a used Glock 19X, younger salesman was knowledgeable and made the process easy and quick. Great selection of firearms, gun safes, and equipment.
Doug and the staff went above and beyond for me to get my double stack 1911 magazines for my pistol had looked online and at every shop for months they made a call and I now have 4 mags for my race gun thanks guys I will be back!
I generally like to patronize local shops over national chains, so when I couldn't find the archery supplies I was looking for at my favorite local shop, I was happy to find this shop four exits off I-275 away from the national chain. Before going, I called the store to see if they had what I wanted, but the phone rang 14 times and nobody answered. Since it's so close to the national chain, I figured I go there anyway.
The store is dark and dirty in an industrial part of town. I went to the archery shop and didn't see much there other than a man at the counter (who apparently doesn't answer his phone). I asked him if they had what I was looking for, and he answered that they were sold out and it takes 3 months to restock. Really? I then asked about low cost arrows for target practice and was told that none of their arrows were low cost, they were all $10 each. Again, really? I then asked about whether they donated any range time to youth clubs. No. What is the rate? $4/hour. $4 each? Yes. So I asked, if I were to rent the range for 1 hour, it's be $4 but if I brought 5 kids to shoot for 1 hour, it's be $20. Yes. I walked out as it became apparent that they didn't want my business and ended up at the national chain that seemed to have no problem with stock and a wide range of arrow prices. I checked out the archery range as I walked out. It was small (one person) and in no better condition than most of the State-owned public ranges. It appears that this business is just waiting for the owner to retire or pass away so the contents can be auctioned off and the building left vacant for years to come. So, if you want old or outdated equipment, a dark dirty facility, high prices, and a rude staff that doesn't want your business, this is the place to go.
Just like Cheers. It's a typical gun store. The more you go the more you fit in. All gun stores have a "culture" and personality. Good people work there and care.
Friendly and helpful staff. I wasn't sure what to expect from the employees at Target World. Yesterday was our first visit there. They helped us through a simple registration process and got us started on the target range quickly and in a very friendly manner.
Very knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices and a good indoor range. Many models available to shoot on the range. HUGH help in making a good buying deceision. Only place I will buy from now.
They advertise a large selection of knives, however their selection is quite poor. I was in the store for 5 minutes looking in the knife and gun cases, staff was too busy talking with each other to even acknowledge me. Won't bother with this place again.
Just went to a great beginner gun class-highly recommend as a beginner or refresher. Gun shop has a wide variety of firearms and accessories. Range pricing includes safety equipment (ear protection - safety glasses) and the price for range time itself is great.
Hands down best indoor range in town, with knowledgeable staff and great prices! If your shooting indoor this is the place to be at and they host many shooting competitions for all skill levels and can get what ever your looking for if they don't already have it in stock in their huge showroom. I been going here since the early 2000s and this is still my favorite go to store and range.
Had to wait over an hour to get an employee to assit me. Was also treated like i had a fake ID because of my Beard, told it didn't look like me. I had to read off my License Number on my ID while he held it. Thankfully i know it. Still bought a GLOCK 22 GEN4 because i needed a new gun that day. Employees were generally disrespectful to my father and I when we asked for assitance from someone playing on their phone. I threw away my free range time because i will never go there again. Good luck to anyone that is in their 20's on getting helpful/respectful assitance.
Great place to shoot. I had no issues, I was in and out at my leisure. The older gentleman behind the counter was helpful, answered any questions asked, and had knowledgable recommendations. Will be a returning customer for sure.
I bought a laser for my G43 got home and realized it wasn't the one I wanted. I called to see if they had the correct one, which was told they did not, and came in to return or exchange and order the correct one. Another employee took a look for it and found the one I was looking for and after my hassle they worked with me on price too. I'll definitely be coming back in for more weapons and accessories.
Terrible customer service and the range is something to be desired. Don't think I'll be going back. I've been going out to Ready Line in Newtown. Farther to drive but much nicer, 100 yard rifle range and the range officers actually help and watch over everything.
These guys need some competition so can't wait til the Newtown location opens. About a year ago I took my daughter there to teach her to shoot my gun and the guy behind the counter was an absolute jerk for no reason at all other than he was busy. When it was my turn at the counter he told me it would be an hour wait for a lane. I asked if my daughter could get a form to fill out while we wait and the guy just tersely said no and offered no explanation. I asked to go ahead and purchase targets and reserve a spot and he went off on me right in front of a large crowd. He seemed to be on the verge of losing it so we left and won't go back. Other times I've been there they have been unfriendly and less than helpful. They don't need my business and it really shows in their attitude. Maybe their attitude will be adjusted when new competition opens up.
Shoutout to Scott/Pat -Scott came to my rescue on the proper way to shoot and the lead person(sorry I forgot his name) and Frank for showing me several firearms to choose from Excellent staff
The range is okay and tge price isnt bad but the guys working there are complete dicks. Im a very nice and polite guy and i still got an attitude with every worker iv had to deal with out there.
I really enjoyed my trip to Target World. The staff were helpful and friendly without being pushy. I was really impressed by the selection and prices. Overall, a very enjoyable shopping experience. Thanks!
I Have bought many guns here and love the attention to detail as well as their dedication to education and training. They have been doing this for many years I think they have this down. Don't be fooled by new facilities, you'll pay too much.
Was helped by a really good guy named Tony B. Helped me get my handgun purchase squared away as well as introduced me to some new inventory. He really helped cement my faith in not only this store but also its employees.
I wasn't sure what gun I wanted to try and was a little nervous about going to the gun range to begin with. Pete was great- he explained things clearly and helped me feel comfortable. Then the owner, Joe came into the range with me and showed me how to shoot. When I left, I forgot my drivers license and Pete came out to the parking lot and found me to return it. I will definitely be back!
I purchased my first pistol here... became an annual member... continue to purchase, shop and use the range often. First timers find the place a intimidating, whining wont help. If you want great gun information you need not go other places. Sure you will get opinions added in, don't act indignant, its what you really asked for in the first place... Sure the phone will ring off the hook... you cant tell if you will like a gun while you're on the darn phone anyway... the place is open nearly everyday, all day... just get yourself to the place where you will find one of the largest selection of ready to purchase weapons, ammo and accessories.
Anytime you walk in there, the ratio of customers to associate's is extremely high. I have been there several times to ask questions and end up waiting 45 minutes just to do so. I am currently on hold to this place for ten minutes on the phone just to see if my transfer came in. This place is horrible on customer service. Hire more people to accommodate the amount of customers you get in per hour.
Ken helped my lady get a great 380 and I wanted to thank him for his professionalism and 1 hour free range time thanks ken I told you I was going to let people know how you helped us thanks again ken
Seems like of lack of knowledge in the gun safe department. I felt like I knew more basic information about them then the sales reps. They didn't seem interested in helping either. Once I purchased a safe, I attempted to take advantage of the 12 month no interest financing. No one really knew how to do that, and I waited as they attempted to complete this process for over an hour, only to be told that basically no person understood how to do it (not even managers) and that we could simply wait and hope it works itself out or simply pay in full.
Bottom line: Safe prices are good, service and knowledge not so much.
I am an NRA instructors as well as an RSO, my father is up for reelection on the board of the NRA. With all that being said I know a very fair amount of proper gun handling, as well as gun knowledge. My time spent there was full of being muzzled by more loaded firearms than I'd like to admit, and rude interactions with all but one employee, to which I can not remember his name. I will not be returning and every CCW class I teach I will strongly advise to stay away until hopefully I hear good things again. I grew up shooting here. Such a shame.
If you are going there with gun experience, and just need a cheap place to shoot: 5 stars. Range time here is much cheaper than PB, even though you get what you pay for in terms of ventilation and range tech. But hey, I'm trying to throw balls of lead through pieces of paper, all I need is some rudimentary lighting and a thing to hold the targets. One time I had a lane on the pistol range with the string pulley actually break (pulley broke). Went out front and explained, promptly got switched to a different lane and had 10 minutes added to my time.
If you are going there to buy a gun, 2 stars. Not uncommon to have to wait for a long time, some sales associates pass around 'knowledge' that is inaccurate. I have worked with a couple guys who really knew their stuff and were really great to talk to about firearms in general, and others who were very condescending and acted like I was wasting their time. Protip guys, when I'm about to hand you several hundred to a thousand dollars for a firearm, that's not the best way to speak to me. Prices are also nothing to write home about, though they do have some great sales.
If you just want the cheapest place to shoot, Target World is great. If you want to buy a gun, shop around, check out Kyles, Garys, Point Blank and see if they have what you want, cause you can usually find it for cheaper, and all 3 of those shops (especially Kyles and Garys) are run by people who really want to help you get the gun you want/need.
I will never shop here again. I did my research and went in knowing exactly what i wanted. I came in ready to buy. Not only will you be standing at the counter for literally hours with no acknowledgment from any staff (hey some one will be with you shortly, take a number, hello, Et cetera...), when you do finally get a chance to speak with a rep they are un-friendly, rude douche bags. they are pretty much anti-sales men with their lack of attention, overly opinionated, and "im to busy for this" attitude . I almost didn't buy my gun i have been researching for a few months because i didn't want the douche bag at the counter to get any commission. This was my first time there. i decided to give them the benefit of the doubt since by the time i was helped and was getting my papers filled out it was a few minutes after close. So we went back because my boyfriend had his gun in mind and we were going to buy. again we stood for a good hour and a half, During the waiting period i heard a customer next to me ask for a manager and the rep looked at him and actually said "Cant you see we are busy here, i dont even know where a manager is right now, but why do you need a manager" the guy replied "i have a return and when i called they said a manager needs to return it, is that correct" the rep then said "yea, if i find one ill send them out to you." (so rude) Finally when we were waited on we told him what we wanted, and all we got was "we dont have it in stock" ok reasonable answer but he didnt offer to double check or offer to let us place a special order, or anything, just "we dont have it in stock" and he walked down to the next customer. talk about the last time we will ever go there.
While the most I see come to this place are totally clueless to how to properly handle a "HOT"Loaded" weapon, but to me seems the biggest flaw here is lack of available space for people waiting to shoot on the range,This is the biggest seller here that draws in most. The prices are fairly high on their stock, the sales staff behind the gun counter is either underpaid, careless about the job or really don't give a chit and would rather fraternize with friends / family or eat lunch instead of helping out with a sale or common question of need. The few who do work the Range counter bust pretty good, but there is still a lack of basic structure to their system for keeping people informed while they wait for a open lane or their name to be called. They do have better hours then most, cheaper membership cost, but stay away from the bathrooms, swear some poor smelly bastard must have died in there!...For the volume and space they have allotted for the traffic they get daily I would say they do OK,,, not great, but you cannot please everyone!.. all the negative reviews are probably from the zillions of idiots who bring 10 kids with them to go shoot. hey mom and dad leave the toddlers at home!!! this is not romper room it is a gun range, do you really want your newborn to 10 year old breathing in all that lead from discharge, but your crab about people smoking outside? Typical Obama voters.
Just bought a new 9mm shield. Big guy with the beard behind the counter was great. Very helpful and made the purchase smooth. I will be back in for my next purchase and some range shooting.
Purchased range time, started shooting and looked to the lane next to me. A blind man with a shotgun was trying to shoot and his 8-9 year old son was behind him yelling, "LEFT! RIGHT! HIGHER!," attempting to help him aim. The man was shooting the ceiling, my targets, the floor, a couple lanes over targets, the cables of the target holding system, everything but the target. The boy was barefoot and not wearing ear or eye protection. I immediately packed up my gear and walked out, I didn't even want my money back. I directed the staff to observe what was transpiring on the range, and not a single care was given. They stood and watched while a barefooted child without ear or eye protection yelled aiming directions at a blind man with a 12 gauge firing buckshot. I haven't been back in 8 years, and never will go back.
PROS: Range fees are cheaper than most others and they are opened until 10pm on Friday and Saturday. Also, the staff is decent. They are usually relatively helpful and friendly enough.
CONS: The actual range is not safe. Lots of clowns shoot here who don't know what they are doing and are not safe. As evidence to this, just look around at all the damage to walls, ceiling, floor and range lane panels from bullets. There is no range officer and the staff doesn't manitou what goes on. Last time I was there, a guy with a tactical shotgun was on the pistol range intentionally shooting the walls and floor and the staff did nothing about it. So, go at your own risk and maybe wear body armor to play it safe....
Just finished the concealed carry class with Tom, and I highly recommend taking one. Tom is very thorough and personable. The information is provided in a relatable way, giving plenty of opportunities to ask questions as you go.
Been awhile since I visited Target world, due to the Service Received last visit, but with the new management, this last visit was great, Keep up the good work! Will be back soon!
This is a great place to do business. The people that have helped me out have consistently offered very satisfactory customer service. It can definitely get busy at times and there might be a wait, but I have no problem with that. I really don t get some of these other reviews. Take it with a grain of salt I guess.
Been coming here since I was 10. Super knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great range. Only place in the state I will buy weapons from. Jeremy is a great guy as well
6 plus staff behind the counter and not a single one asked if they could be of assistance. Overpriced firearms and accessories + lousy service! I cannot for the life of me figure out why shops like this manage to stay open when the internet marketplace offers so much more without the obscene price markup. I will not return.
