When you go, talk to Dave, John, or Martin. They are the sweetest guys! I've talked to several other staff that were nice but I can't remember their names. Every company has a couple bad apples, but I've always thoroughly enjoyed going to Target World. Huge selection of guns to rent if you need help deciding what to buy. They offer several levels of training so you can get comfortable with the gun you want/have. Individual instruction available too. They aren't paid commission so they aren't just trying to force an expensive gun on you, they work with you to choose what you need and like. Love you Target World!

Very messy place that has lots of good products like archery and reloading, but the guns are high. When it comes to staff its very disorganized. People at gun counters are all over the place on a busy night vs staying in place and letting others work in their area. If you have an inbound transfer they need to designate a guy to check on those....or else you may have three leaning counter. Basically under trained on good service and understaffed busy night's. And fix the frigin leaky roof geez
Went to the gun range and left my drivers license as collateral. When I was done shooting they gave me the id off a elderly black man 'which I am not!' When I explained that I was given the wrong id the man didn't seem to be concerned about it. I wasn't offerd any apologies he just asked for my phone number and said he would call if returned. No phone call ever came and I hade to purchase a new ID . Thanks target world..
Called ahead asked about a gunsmith they said yes he was in. When I arrived I was told he stepped out that his car was here. About 20 minute later another staff member asked if he could help. I told him I was waiting for the gunsmith. He then did a snicker and someone else laughed that I would be waiting a very long time. I will never return to that store or recommend anyone...I will tell them to avoid going there.
Came in wasn't welcomed they seemed mildly busy. But after looking for 20 minutes I saw a gun I wanted to look at purchasing, so I stood there for 15 or so minutes only moving 2 or 3 steps after waiting awhile I walked back to the bows and found a large puddle I'm the floor from the ceiling leaking went to inform the gentleman at a register he told me he'd be with me in a second even though at that point it wasn't about any guns waited for another 10 or so minutes and I turn back to see someone being helped who recently walked through the door when me and another gentlemen were down by the ar's I hope he left as we did prices are higher here than other gun shops I went to that day and I found the same rifle I was looking at else where they lost not only my purchase that day but my business
Thank you Kenneth for providing excellent customer service today. You went above and beyond my expectations. The store was very packed but you had exactly what I needed and found me a discount.
First time in Target world and they were busy even at 830 pm on a Saturday night. We were able to get a line with a minimal wait time. Then after we were done, a employee of target world, Peter, was nice enough to show me his unique level action rifle. Not only did he show me but he let me shoot a few rounds through it. I will definitely be back.
Visited Target World on a weeknight, the store wasn't very busy. Rented two handguns from the rental counter and some range time. Grant was the employee working the counter, he was friendly and helpful. TW has earmuffs and eye pro that was available to borrow for the range which was great. Air quality in the range itself could have been a bit better, but it wasn't much of a distraction.
They did not have the specific gun I came to shoot available to rent, which was disappointing. On their website it was listed as available, but Grant (employee) said it was either broken or out for cleaning. They should make that more apparent on the website, perhaps updating the inventory more often. I'll call from now on.
Visited the retail shelves after my range time. I was asked by several employees if I needed any help, that was nice. One wasn't friendly, but certainly not mean. Just a matter of fact person.
Overall a good experience. The misleading inventory on the rental page of their website is frustrating. Rental prices seemed fine.
Being a first time gun handler, Tony B. went above and beyond to help find the best fit for me. He took extra time to help me feel comfortable with my choice. Tony even helped me at the range to test out out my options. I wound up not getting the one I originally thought was best for me, instead after testing my options, and with Tony's help I left with confidence in my decision.
Friday, December 30th, a friend and I visited target world for the first time to shoot at the range. I read that there was a sale going on and you received free range time with a purchase - that's how I met Tony. Tony was very helpful and easy to work with. Even though he was disappointed I went with the Sig over the glock, he helped me purchase my favorite gun that I own to date. Thanks again!
I took the concealed carry class. I found it to be very informative and enlightening. The instructor Greg Boothby is awesome. I recommend this class to anyone serious about ccw.
Easily the worst customer service I've ever had at any retail store, not just gun stores. Walmart employees might be able to help you more. I felt like I was bothering them to try and get some help. I had been waiting almost ten minutes for help to pick up a transfer I had shipped there, and a woman decided to walk right by me to help an older customer who had just walked up, I assume because she thought a young 20 year old was not a serious customer. I have had a poor experience all three times I have been here, and only go here for the prices, but I won't even do that anymore.
Went to get an antique gun looked at to see if it was safe to fire they inspected it and said it was. They even suggested what type of rounds to use! When i fired me antique gun it worked fine! I also took a gun with the wrong type of bullet jammed in it they got the bullet out of it! They did this all free of charge! Good quality and good service, what more could you ask for?
CUSTOMER SERVICE: You will need to visit this place a dozen times to have one decent to maybe good experience. The employees think that they are Cincinnati's gift to us 2nd Amendment loving citizens. I'm sure they speak to a lot of beginners who are looking to purchase or even hold a firearm for the first time but in my experience most of the sales staff look down on everyone on the opposite side of the counter. And like some of the other reviews state, some of the sales staff don't know their rear end from a hole in the barrel of a gun. I've also seen an employee eating his lunch or dinner while standing behind the counter and on another occasion I was there with my girlfriend and a man who waited on me must have just came in from a smoke brake, reeked like a dirty wet ash tray which made our stomachs turn and we had to say thank you for your time and walked away after just a few minutes. The last time I visited Target World (which will probably be my last) there were maybe five or six potential customers in the store with only one customer at the gun counter besides myself. I was at the .45acp counter bent over looking in the glass. One employee walked by twice and said nothing to me and another walked by once and said nothing and neither were waiting on anyone. They both congregated over by the cash register with another employee where they started to chit-chat. Back in the winter of 09, I did have a pleasant experience with a counter salesman there who I did purchase an "open box buy" from for an older model Smith that I still carry to this day but he don't work there anymore. Like I said before, one time out of several visits was pleasant. FIRING RANGE: Dim, dirty, dingy and sometimes shady people renting lanes. I've had a gun pointed at me on two separate occasions (that I know of) not on purpose but by ignorant people who seem to think they are the only single one standing there outdoors in a desolate desert and not a camel in sight for a thousand miles. Any and every gun range is dangerous however Target World should take more precautionary measures for a safer gun range. (e.g. Range Officer, and not an arrogant one like most of their sales staff). When I purchased my gun there wasn't a local alternative gun range around but I checked out the new POINT BLANK in Blue Ash, OH. I've been there probably five or six times now and they have super friendly & attentive sales staff, a beautiful and clean gun counter, merchandise area and an awesome state of the art shooting range (with a polite range officer) that paces back and forth for our safety. It's such a breath of fresh air after the past few experiences with Target World.
They got me. First time handgun buyer, was buying out of state. Guy behind the counter explained to me that I would have to pay another firearms dealer in my state to transfer. Didn't think to tell me about the extra $35 shipping fee that was added on after I had already put money down which was nonrefundable. I could've just bought the thing in my state and walked out same day. I learned a lesson, make sure that you study, know what you're doing before you go in to make a purchase. These guys are not going to have your back.
i booked a party for after hours on a Saturday night, Well my party got there and some of them had to drive an hour and we get there and they wrote down the wrong date. There was only 2 lanes shooting at the time and we was told we could not shoot. they claimed 2 people called off but there was 5 of them there hanging out, Do youself a favor and call before you go because they might not let you shoot. I will go some where else for now on, Target World will never get a penny on our money again.
The reason to go to Target World is for the people, and the wide selection. We went there several times this weekend and Emilee and Sasha were both very friendly and helpful! My friend made a mistake when purchasing something there, and not only did they help us when we went back, but threw in a little gift too. The store may not have the same glitz as some others, but they have more selection, which in my case turned out to be helpful. Thanks!
Horrible place to buy guns. The only reason why this place is packed is because this is the only place in Cincinnati open to the public that you can shoot indoor at the range. All the guns are overpriced here. If your looking to buy a gun in the area, go to Loveland Shooter Supply. They can beat Target Worlds prices and have much better service. Target World employees are rude and tend to think their **** don't stink. Go here to see what you want and to shoot. Then go to another store to tell them what you want. I would bet my paycheck ANY other store can beat their price. Make sure you have 2 hours to wait for the range.
Fair prices on the range, good selection on the retail end, and I've never had a problem with the staff. They seem to take good care of the range but that parking lot is a little trippy sometimes.
Bought an HR37 Browning safe on an online auction before Christmas. Got it at a good price. The write up they used was for the 2015 safe and they had planned to deliver a 2014 safe. Some confusion - but they gave me the option of a 2014 safe and some extras or they would order the 2015 safe. I waited for the 2015 safe. When it arrived they put me in contact with Pete's safe moving - their price on the HR37 includes 1st floor delivery. I paid Pete $50 to get it into the basement - excellent value, it was not an easy job.
Pete unwraps the safe and it has the digital combo. I wanted the mechanical that was in the picture on the auction site. No worries they sent out their safe repairman and a mechanical lock was installed.
I was surprised they were so accommodating when i go the safe for about $800 under their sale price. I was very pleased by the service. Pete rocks on getting a safe into your house - well worth the money.
Have had good rental and transfer experiences here. The rental rifles are a bit sketchy but any time you have a problem the staff will gladly sort it out. If you're on the range and you have any kind of mix up or want to change lanes, they help remedy the situation. Pete at the rental counter will set you up with whatever you need to get the best shooting experience. For the prices, this is a great range to rent and shoot, though coming on week days is best to avoid the most obnoxious customers. Would highly recommend renting the MP5 as well, if you haven't shot a full auto now is the time.
I have been going to this range for about 6 months regularly and there I have never had a problem with them. Pete is by far my favorite employee to sit down and talk with. He knows what he's taking about and every gun he has recommended I have loved. My only wish is that the range was a bit bigger but every time I go I feel like I'm right at home and I will continue to go for a while to come
A sad excuse. All of their products, espically firearms, are all very over priced. And dont even think about trying to sell your firearms to them, they'll offer you 15% of what your gun is worth. These bastar** will seriously rip you off if you try and sell them your guns. DONT. The staff are all rude and full of themselves. If a customer walks in and has 25 years military experience in a combat job, is a qualified armorer on numerious weapons, has seen real live combat etc. IN THIS PLACE, all that counts for nothing and the staff still think they know more than that military customer with all that experience. Yeah right, I think I'll trust that military persons advice infinitly more than some target as* crack employee with an overflated ego who gets a hard on from carrying a 6 shooter on his waist just because he can at work.
Bought a high end pistol and price was really reasonable compared to the bigger "chain" gun shops in the local area Dan was a great help and sale went smoothly and also got some free range time, I only gave it a 3 star rating because the range area wasn't well lit as I has to use a flashlight to see in my range bag and it was quite chilly in the range area.. will be back due to their selection and reasonable price.. good over all experience..
If I could give this place a zero stars I would. When you walk in they all got Mean marks on their faces they Rude they don t even know basic knowledge on Firearms. I never went to a gun store and heard so many I don t know!!!! Save your time and gas and go somewhere else I highly recommend!!!!!!!!!
Frank was able to help me get over my fear of firearms and was able to show me the basics of how to shoot! Great guy, very knowledgeable, and made my overall experience very pleasant.
I really had a nice experience with Tom in class! He taught me everything I needed to know and how to approach difficulty situations! Thankyou so much for Everything!
Target world was my first time shooting and it went perfectly. I wouldn't ask for a better experience. I went on ladies day with my friend for her birthday, it was cheap, we had a great teacher (S/O to Jeremy!!), and a great time. I would def go again.
If you need a place to figure out what gun is right for you, this is the place. Frank, Dave, and Pat were extremely patient and helpful as I tried many different guns. Plus it s fun to shoot stuff!! Pew pew!
Horrible. Much, much better options available in the area.
The shooting range is the worst kept and most dangerous I have ever been to. No range safety. Just look at the ceiling and all the holes before you run away. Check theirs out(for your safety, do not step inside.), then go to a couple of the competitions. Night and day difference.
Sales staff are all stuck up and try to take advantage of novices. Ask any "veteran" shooter in the area and they will tell you to steer clear of this place.
Guarantee the 5 star reviews are employees. Take note of how generic they are, vs the real reviews.
Very helpful and we'll stocked store ...pete is very nice ....all the staff I have met are knowledgeable and don't try to intimidate or pressure one to buy anything I watched an employee take over 20 mins to help a gentleman pick a belt good for the holster he was using and made sure it's what the guy wanted... only problem is you can stand there waiting your turn for quite some time but it's worth the wait...keep up the great service and respect for your customers. I WILL BE BACK to do much more business.
My wife and I have been several times and each time is worse than the last. The guys behind the counter are rude, disrespectful, and racist. If you ask the questions the actual like as if you are dumb. The close down the rifle range for a tournament and when you ask about other ranges they act as if they don't know what you're talking about. You spend your money there and get treated as if you owe them something. Little to say I won't be going back.
WAAYYYYYYY OVER PRICED ON FIREARMS. Used guns 50 dollars less then retail price. I dont support gunshops that Rob customers out of money because of the scare going around. Beat up used silencers. 1 visited here 4 years ago. Stopped by today. Wouldn't recommend for gun shopping. Heck no. A M&P 2.0 compact 9mm pistol marked $699. Down the street $530-$599 max. People don't impulse buy.
Good selection of new and used firearms. Also a shooting range. They also have archery supplies, gun safes, and ammunition and accessories for firearms.
Called for 35 minutes no one would answer phone on any extension.Needed to talk to archery dept finally got some one at gun dept put on hold then 10 minutes later comes back and says archery tech had to leave on family emergency.1 archery tech on a sat are you serious?I will be calling hoyt and complaining this store does not deserver to even sell hoyt. Also ive been in the store numerous times its like youre bothering them wanting to buy something.Last time I was in they had the high powered rifle range open what do I see 2 guys with gold plated ak pistols practicing for a drive by shooting. They couldn't pay me to shoot there.Im done with them no more archery or firearm business from me.If we are lucky they will go out of business before some one gets killed in the unsafe ranges.
Rod, Dave and Frank are super helpful. They answered all of our questions thoroughly and even gave my friend and I free lessons on how to shoot. First time shooting for both of us and they talked to is like men not betas. 5 stars
We received excellent sales and technical service. Frank was very friendly and knowledgeable. He help me feel confident in my gun purchase and made me aware of all the other services and support Target World offers. Tyler went above to help my husband with a scope. We were very satisfied and will definitely be back.
Almost chose not to go to Target World, because of these reviews, but I had heard many good things about TW via word of mouth and from some very knowledgeable people. We are glad we went! Very, VERY knowledgeable staff. Courteous, helpful information and training. Ask for a guy named Andrew W... he was incredibly helpful to both me as a novice and to my more experienced husband. We've always heard good things about TW, so don't know why there would be any negative reviews. I WILL say, TW is really busy on Saturdays, but the staff keeps lines moving and thoroughly answers your questions. Again, ask for Andrew W. He was so nice and helpful!
Find another place to do business. The tools that work here need a basic course in customer service. The individual who "helped" us first carded my son (who is 24 years old), went through the steps of assuring the gun was cleared, and handed the gun to my son in a manner that the barrel was pointing towards another worker. He then proceeded to lecture my son that he clearly didn't know how to handle a gun and that he liked his co-worker and didn't want to have him get shot. He then went on to say that the gun he handed my son didn't have bullets, but the gun he was carrying did and that he would not hesitate to use it. Needless to say this was our first and last visit to this establishment.
My wife went through their ccw class. She's a fine shot, but not when they insist you hold the gun THEIR way, which is uncomfortable and innacurate. And they kept touching her, making her very uncomfortable, distracting her to the point of slicing her hand open on the slide. Arrogant asses need to get real teaching certificates, and STOP TOUCHING THE LADIES.
I hadn't been in years, went to get a quick appraisal on a revolver. Super helpful staff. Huge selection, as the saying goes (I'LL BE BACK). Thanks, Target World .
Bought my first handgun today here and Tony B. did a good job explaining everything and walked me through different options. Finally settled on one that I've been eyeing for a while and I'm very happy with it. Ended up getting a free hour of firing range time for the purchase. It was awesome!
Ans & John was great, setting me up with my new Glock 35 generation 4 MOS with LEU DeltaPoint Pro. I am look forward to using my new Glock. Both Ans & John in my opinion went above the standard salesmanship to ensure that I was satisfied, with my purchase which will grantee my return business.
Its unfortunate that this range has so many bad reviews but they are all warranted. buying a gun there was a little wacky for me. i started with one guy ended up with another guy and closed the sale with a third guy. i'm not really sure why that happens. as far as the staff there goes i had some run ins with helpful staff that seemed to know what they are talking about however my most memorable experience with the staff there was when i brought my dad there so he could shoot for the first time in years. my dad needed a range card so i grabbed one of the laminated sheets with the safety rules from the counter where they were kept in easy reach for any customer to take one and review while they were waiting in line for 947 minutes. the man at the range counter grabbed the sheet back from me and started yelling, "I DO THAT!! I DO THAT!!". so i simply told him that my father needed a range card so i was getting the sheet so that he could read it while we wait in line for 947 minutes that way when our turn came up we could get the range card and our lane in one transaction without having to return to the back of the line and wait another 947 minutes. to which he replied, "I DO THAT I DO THAT!!!" so my dad busted out laughing and we just left. there was a smaller guy i remember running the range counter who was much more friendly and helpful but i only saw him running the counter a couple of times i was there.
most of this places problems have to come from their location though. if you look at their spot you have to figure they have the largest concentration of idiots coming in to shoot and i can only imagine how frustrating and tiresome that must be for the staff there.
this place could easily be a three or a four if they a) kept better staff b) moved to a location that would be less accessible to the type of people that point their gun at you when they are playing with it on the range and c) update that range. there are a couple ranges around here already open (and another getting ready to oped) that are so much nicer than what they have going on here.
i would love to see this place make some improvements and turn it around. especially since they are one of the only shops in town that sells reloading supplies.
Bought a S&W M&P AR15 from them, it was defective from the day I bought it. It wouldn't eject rounds, and the stock wouldn't adjust. I took it in for repair, they wanted $250 minimum to fix, on a brand new rifle that had only shot 2 rounds and was junk. They claimed that somehow I bent the upper, which is ridiculous and makes no sense. The manager is extremely rude and claims to have a lot of experience, but knows nothing except how to yell. Luckily, S&W fixed the rifle free of charge when I sent it in myself, since Target World wouldn't send it in for me. Horrible place. You will regret ever dealing with them. It's basically a pawn shop with even worse customer service. I will never go back here. Oh and since then I have purchased a Keltec KSG, Marlin rifle, and 2 revolvers from someone else. Thanks for nothing, you should be out of business.
Pete P & Scott was amazing! Super professional and was a fantastic! We use to go to point blank but now this will be our permanent home shooting range!
I visited Target World for the first time several months ago as I was in the market for a gun safe. I was greeted by Dan Ross who welcomed me like a friend and graciously assisted me in finding the right safe for my needs. He patiently answered all my questions and pointed out all the features that differentiated one safe from another. In the end, I purchased a safe and was given the name of a person who would handle the moving of the safe. The day before the safe was to be delivered; I received a call from Dan to tell me that the safe was ready to go and that the mover would be picking it up in the morning.
Overall, I had an extremely positive experience and was quite impressed with Dan and Target World. They treat you with respect, value your business, and know what it takes to make a customer for life.
The Carry and concealed weapon class with Tom was wonderful. I greatly enjoyed it. I learned alot very informative. Going home very satisfied.I highly recommend it.
This place has really changed over the last few years foe me. I used to hate this place and after having a couple bad experiences here on the range and with overly cocky sales people I'd had enough. That's all changed in the last three years for me. I've bought three new guns in three years from them and the service I received each time was excellent! Friendly and patient and the selection was great every time with their prices usually beating out the others guys by ten to fifty bucks to boot. I'll be back again for sure and would encourage anyone who had written them off in the past to give them another try. It's not the same old place it once was.
The most unprofessional staff i've ever delt with..drove a hpur just to be told the guy i spoke with on the phone was wrong.. nuy your guns somewhere else
This is the second handgun class I've taken at Target World with Tom Woolery. The classes were presented very professionally. I've gained much. I plan to attend further training.
Went in the store with cash in my pocket and a specific firearm to buy, but couldn t get one of the three guys to even acknowledge that I was in the store in over 15 minutes standing at the counter. Glad there s other options in town.
Don't waste your time or money at Target World. What I found was apathetic or rude, to non existent, customer service. Rental equipment was in absolute horrible condition, including firearms, safety glasses and ear protection and the lanes were a cluttered mess. I have also found much better prices elsewhere. My latest, and my very LAST, visit we went through several different firearms and NONE of them were in good working order. After buying several boxes of ammo for this type of firearm, which was not in working order, I asked to try a different type of firearm but was told I would be eating the cost of the boxes of ammo I just bought. So they rented me non functional firearms and then I am stuck with this ammo that I only purchased to use with that rented firearm. This is just the final example I have of how unprofessional Target World has become. I hate to admit it but, as I see it, Target World has gone VERY much downhill. I will be joining my ever growing group of friends who have stated that they won't ever be caught stepping into Target World again.
I have done business with Target World for over a year. Always treated with the utmost respect from everyone here, from the owner Joe, manager Charlie and their staff.
