My daughter was admitted to Tanner Medical Center ...

My daughter was admitted to Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton approximately 3 days ago...hopefully going home today. She was was in the ER for a day and a half because there were no rooms available, which was totally fine and understandable with the hospital being unusually full. However, when she did finally get a room (259), it was dirty, hadn t been cleaned and looked like it hadn t been cleaned in several days from the dirt, food and trash on the floor. The bathroom had not been cleaned, toilet and floor were disgusting. I had to have the nurse call to have it cleaned before my daughter could even use it and was told it was a frequent problem. Being in upper management in EVS for a hospital in Florida, I observed when housekeeping came to clean and quickly discovered the problem as I did going to and from the cafeteria. This problem was not confined to patient rooms. There is very obviously a lack of training if the housekeeper as well as oversight and follow up at the management level. I am completely appalled at the condition and cleanliness in this hospital to the point that I am concerned about patient safety especially in these times of COVID. Perception is everything! My daughter received top notch care but I will never bring her here again due to lack of cleanliness, disinfection procedures and the obvious utter lack of management simply walking/rounding their hospital. Very shocked and disappointed! It s sad because the hospital is beautiful and from our experience the medical staff does their best and notably cares about their patient s wellbeing. This is the reason for two stars instead of one. That should be the case in all departments of a hospital...

Thankful for a local hospital that cares about their patients. My daughter is a frequent and the staff goes above and beyond. Being a special needs parent is not easy, but having a facility that will do what needs to be done, and transition if needed is so nice! Thank you guys!

Staff is very rude. If you ask for a pillow or blanket you never get it. Been here 4 hours only saw the doctor once he didn't do anything for my finance. The nurses don't come back and check your blood pressure or anything but once. Only thing good they know how to do is sit on the butts and talk. The only thing good about here is the cleaning people keep it clean! This is the one in Wedowee Al!!!!!

I called to get some questions answered since I have no idea on what the process is. And a rude lady picked up the phone and had an attitude with me the whole time. Like she didn t even help or nothing. When I get my diploma for nurse my goal is to be as nice and kind so people don t feel bad

My wife has been scheduled for test twice in the last few weeks. On the first occasion we show up as directed on time to their Bremen location, wait then wait some more. My wife is called back only to be told "we can only do one half of the ordered test, we don't even perform those at this location."

They admitted it was clearly a case of central scheduling not having a clue of what is performed where.

The second time, after check in we sat for two hours at their Villa Rica location. My wife asked what the problem was. The nice lady said, "you're still here? I sent someone earlier to tell you we don't do these test on Wednesday's at this location." Well whomever she told??? obviously didn't bother.

Do you want any organization this disoriented and disorganized in charge of your health care? We don't!

Completely unacceptable.
Not to mention it cost me a day of work both times.

We're now starting over through another hospital.

We have had a great experience here for my Dad. The ER is wonderful and clean! Very private and not sharing a room with others. The staff on the floors are very attentive and eager to help. Rooms have been clean and there is valet parking available for free!

Normally I always have a good experience here I had my 2 babies here and every one is nice up on the 2nd floor in the baby area but my trip to the er later night was down right horrible I took my husband there bc he had posion sumac and there was a women there working and I had asked her a simple question if him and his father could go into the same room sence we came together and were going to be treated for the same thing she rudely said No and when we went back to get him checked in I was trying to have a conversation with my husband I said ( I though they would have put yall in the same room they did with me and my daughter and my mom ) this lady turned around and said if you are going to talk that way get out of this room I said I was talking to my husband and I did nothing wrong she told me to get out I said no I'm not leaving my husband in here alone with you she got the security on me and made me leave the room for trying to talk to my husband...... he got up and told them they wernt talking to me that way and left..... I would give no stars but I had my babies here they are nice as can be up there but extreamly rude in the er....

Tanner is staffed with mediocre doctors who cop an attitude whenever asked a medical question. They appear to assume that the local populace is comprised of mentally deficient people who they look down their noses at.

The staffing is good, my complaint is that no one bothered to inform me that they were not in my insurance group so now I owe a huge bill which is something I should have thought about but who thinks of this when you are needing medical attention. Very dissapointed and will not be returning to Tanner Health System ever.

Truly terrible, I imagine the only way these people are still in business is because they rip you off so badly and do not inform you that you're out of network. Shame this is what they have become.

I'm disabled & on oxygen I drove round &round till I reached the roof
still had to park down in the middle of the ramp & walk a good way to the building. My point , there were more
parking spots for employees than handicap spots. Also after parking on the roof I had to take the elevator to the 1st floor, I was almost out of O2
@ the end of my procedure. PUT IN MORE DISABLED PARKING!!! Thank you.

Ive never had a terrible experience here until last night even though I ve heard of many other horrible stories from friends. Last night we went to have my sons (he s 3 years old) staples removed from his head. A doctor came in and looked at him then sent a nurse in there to take them out. My son was already pretty scared to have them removed so he called another nurse in to help him. Well the nurse either didn t know how to work the tool 100% accurately or something because the staples did not cut in half like they were supposed to. They literally twisted and bent while in my sons head. Instead of stopping after the first one he tried all three of them, pulling and tugging while my son was screaming in pain and crying. He finally stopped and went to get a doctor. The doctor came in and looked at it and it had already opened back up and was bleeding bad again. They had to give my son a shot in the wound to numb it so the doctor could then go in with other tools and twist and pull the staples out. He then put a lot of glue on my sons head with hair all matted up and in it. They had no concern for his head and how it would feel with a massive glob of glue and matted hair sticking out. My son can t even lay back on his back now because it hurts due to the glue not laying flat and having hair all on it. I feel like with it being a 3 year olds head no one should have touched my son unless they were 100% confidence taking the stitches out. He should have stopped after the first one and got the doctor. It was so traumatic for my son and I. Worst experience ever. Tanner in Carrollton is just not trained on how to work with children. They don t know how to talk to them, how to be patient with them, how to treat them, how to deal with them in general. They need more training on tools they have to use such as how to properly remove staples.
