I went with my daughter of 3 to have a tooth extracted and the experience was quite calm for her. She left super happy with one less tooth and one more gift! :)

Very beautiful and modern practice! Well-trained, competent and helpful staff; they always explain in detail what they do and why it is good / better. Have always been very satisfied at Tandarts Jordaan, definitely recommended!

My experiences with dentist jordaan are very good, very professional and friendly staff. My experience is that a clear treatment plan was made in advance and this was carried out in detail. Highly recommended!

The dental hygienists are super friendly and I always leave feeling confident about my teeth after a cleaning. I ve only had my teeth cleaned twice as well as two checkups but every experience has been great.

In the short term I could go. My front tooth has been professionally restored. The dentist and assistant were very involved and the result is great. Thanks again.

Dr. Vaartjes made a mistake during my root canal treatment with the consequences that my tooth had to be extracted. The dentist promised me to see if his insurance will cover the high costs of my implant which I have to face due to his mistreatment. Anyways, since I got the verification of another dentist that it was his mistake, he does not react to any of my E-Mails anymore. Very cowardly and unprofessional!

Expect a very long wait even for appointments - 20 minutes plus.

Excellent dentist. It is not only spring in the eyes of the dental assistant.

Super aided by a skilled dentist in a very fine practice.

What I do not like in this practice is that they do not put the customer at the center and if you say something then you only hear the employees at the desk justify their working methods. Do not even try to think along and see opportunities for improvement.
Two things are against me the most:
1) You think you have an appointment with a dental hygienist but in fact they are Prevention Assistants. What does it matter? Many, look at Google what the educational differences are. I also like transparency, why are not you told that you are at a PA? Why is this being secretly done?
2) I'll be like a regular dentist, I do not in any appointment to someone else to go. That's what I indicate from the beginning though. Yet performing practice or to ask you each time for a surprise when you walk in the treatment shows a yet unknown face. I really like to me here, they did not even bother to take questions before the client if they find it good.
If you report this at reception they come with all sorts own invented truths why they can not do this. What I find this an incomprehensible attitude ta.v. customers. And if you say about going to switch to another dentist makes the receptionists really matter.

So I am looking for a new honest dentist.

People look out; these are true money wolves. Was there patient until last year but left because of the many 'ghost invoices'. All codes and actions were added to treatments that have never been done. Came through the TIP (dental information point) with whom I went through the invoices. It became clear that a lot had been invented which sometimes went up to hundreds of euros extra. In this practice, you are also regularly pressured to carry out a drastic treatment as soon as possible (if possible immediately after something has been discovered). Perhaps a causal connection with what I have posted before .. Really wrong these guests. Only the oral hygienists were okay

After breaking my front tooth I was able to go straight to the Jordaan Dentist for treatment, (while the dental surgeon had a waiting period of 6 weeks in the hospital for the first consultation). Two weeks after the accident the implant has already been placed and I am already 90% ready, in 5 months the real crown will be added. The treatment was completely painless and I had no pain. Absolutely great!
Very modern practice with all facilities to take care of everything, the crown is simply made immediately while you are still in the chair, and that even on a Sunday afternoon, class!
I have had my final crown since a week. And it looks really beautiful, I have to say, with a lot of care and precision, it was made by the highly skilled dental technician (a winner!). I am very happy with it! Now tickle the insurance and the tax authorities :)

They are so unprofessional. They made all kinds of mistakes and the staff were very cheeky. She did not listen to what I had to say and did all kinds of things without first discussing with me! I always had to wait half an hour / 45 minutes before it was my turn, even though I had already made appointments weeks in advance.

VESSELS AND HENDRICKS are absolutely bad dentists and discussing their mistakes is verbally prevented by the assistant with the announcement that you are no longer welcome with complaints and you are immediately deregistered as a BAM patient!

What a dream practice, fancy tech, superb quality and lovely people

I've been a client of Tandarts Jordaan for over a year, and I absolutely recommend them to everyone! There is a great relaxed atmosphere, everything is super clean and everyone is friendly and welcoming. I have always had an excellent experience and service, whether it is a filling, check up or teeth cleaning. I recently had a crown fitted and I was thrilled with the results, it is perfect! Couldn't ask for anything more. :)

As others have already described, you get the strong feeling here that the practice revolves around maximizing turnover and that unnecessary treatments are carried out / invoiced. And this under the necessary pressure.
It all looks modern and professional, but looks can be deceiving.
I had gone to this dentist, not realizing that it was the new location of Dr. Maarten Vaartjes' practice. Here, apart from myself, 2 (!) Friends had very unpleasant experiences in the past. Painful (spillage of anesthetic on the skin), heavy-handed and (probably) unnecessary treatments.
Fortunately, I have never had an unpleasant experience at the dentist before or after!

I recommend them. I had lost a filling in one tooth. Went to the office at 11:00, got an appointment at 16:00. Professional crew, great job. I payed 110 euro. The same as I would pay to my dentist in Norway.

Extremely helpful, professional and fine dentist. When I indicated that it was exciting that I had to have my tooth pulled (which in the end was really nothing and no pain at all) they even called me the next day to ask how I was doing. What toppers! My dentist fear has now also disappeared, it is not too bad if you have a good dentist, it turns out.

Very nice and well helped. Nice practice with friendly and especially skilled employees. Fortunately I switched!

I have serious dental anxiety, and they ve made me feel utterly relaxed and comfortable, and attentive to my concerns and fears. I could even get used to going to the dentist now.

I hadn t been to a dentist in a very long time and was incredibly anxious! I can t rate this practise highly enough. I had to have 3 x 3 hour sessions in the chair with 2 different dentists and a hygienist and they were all great! Understanding, calming, very clear and reassuring. Yes the place is on the expensive side, but the care and quality of materials and tech they have are more than worth it in my opinion.

Great place, with great professionals and all latest technology. Highly recommended!

I made an appointment for filling. My tooth was broken and was annoying. Nothing helped but control. And they had time for next week. I work as a dentist. Don't listen to the patient.

I have been here a while ago after I had not been to the dentist for some time. I received super friendly and thought it all was good. Then I had then sent a bill plan of over 3000 !!! I was very shocked by this and therefore decided to request a second opinion from another dentist. He told me that there was nothing wrong with it and that there were all sorts of things on the bill that were not necessary at all or were double on them (12 holes and 12 anesthetics, yeah right). I had everything treated by this other dentist. It was a total of 550. I find a nice difference !!!! This really gave me the idea that all they want is money!

My dentist for years (Eduard Hendriks). I am always very satisfied with the result. Nice modern practice. Super nice people.

They take advantage of expats that don't know very well Amsterdam. Snobbish behavior at the reception, crazy prices, 0 flexibility. Once while at the waiting room I heard the receptionist telling to an expat: a consultation can cost up to 300 euro if you are not a patient of this studio.

Mixed feelings ... Dental hygienists excellent. Vaartjes also very good. But Hendriks ... So often I had to wait half an hour or more and when I sat in the chair myself I was out within a few minutes, but with an invoice for "tartar removal extended". Until now I also have no crowns (my current dentist was not talking about anything) but already in 2009 or so Hendriks wanted to fill my mouth with crowns. "How are you insured?" I am not insured because I do not need that for a biennial check and a little tartar. Nowadays I brush with Prodent anti-tartar (hand brush also) and I have little tartar. Why did I not receive that (free) advice? My feeling is also that they want to get rich, and plenty of canal-dwellers (or who would like to live there) who like to be lifted when it is hip and slick. But not me.

Already a year or 3 customer here. Beautiful and modern clinic. Always well helped. Once something went wrong with the invoice and that was neatly restored.

It can feel expensive sometimes but honestly this place has really modern technology I have not seen anywhere else, and they always do a good job of explaining what they will do, doing it well, and quickly.

Arrived earlier for the 1st appointment so that it starts on-time. Well-received in reception but left after waiting for 30 mins past the appointment time.

I've been going to Tandartsjordaan for almost 3 years now. The dentist who sees me have always been nice. I had braces before and when my braces got loosed my teeth moved. They fixed my teeth nicely and happy about it. I highly recommend this place.

Helped by dental hygienist Virgenie, what a great professional service! I am always very afraid of the dentist because of bad experiences, but this is the best practice in NL!

Mechanical and impersonal. All sleek, clean, and organised. Yet their system allows no flexibility whatsoever for a follow up with the same hygienist.

Case: This time (not always the case) I had a very caring and more seasoned hygienist who did a great work. In conversation with her we decided to split the cleaning in 2 phases. All discussed and agreed upon. Once at the reception I learned that I can not have a follow up with her in particular.

My booked second phase will be randomised between all hygienists available that day (with different personal atitude and experience). No possibility for her to finish the work she started. That is, they don't understand the person behind the treatment. Neither patient nor worker. "All hygienist are the same." And by experience as their client I can safely say they are not the same. Dental treatments aren't a mechanical procedure as they believe, each patience has its particularities and hygienists aren't robots either.

Time to search for another practice.

I have been coming to the Dentist Jordaan for a long time and I am very satisfied. The dentists are very competent, reliable, professional and hygienic. I like that I am always kept informed of what is being done or what is needed, the dentists are clear in this and that is important to me.

This is all about one thing: maximum revenue.

Edit after owner response: I think I am not talking about the fact that I once forgot an appointment and therefore had to pay a "fine". I fully understand this no-show policy. It is about the clear signals from practice to extract as much money as possible from every patient. Costly treatment plans that are totally unnecessary. And I come to that conclusion because I have verified this with other practices. Second opinion is called that in your professional terms, I believe. Anyway, good luck!

because I had doubts and the problem became worse , I went to another dentist, who was shocked by very bad quality by their bad treatment which I got infections and my lost teeth and now I get implants. dr. Vaartjes is a ripp off!

This was great experience, my own dentist was closed and they helped me very professional and quick. If you don't have a dentist this is one is really recommended.

I have been here once and decided to choose another practice because this practice is very large and felt businesslike. My husband also had an unpleasant experience with the prevention assistant's teeth cleaning, she was unkind. Now I am back in a one-man practice. And guess what? Really ALL treatments that, according to the dentist of the Jordaan practice, were necessary for my husband and me a year ago, are not necessary at all, according to my current dentist. At the Jordaan practice, I have the feeling that they are very fixated on treatments - also immediately take photos and all that - while I prefer to see a 'if it doesn't bother you, then we don't have to do anything with it' mentality in a dentist.
I still regret that I took an expensive additional insurance because according to Jordan practice all crowns etc were needed. That cost my husband and me 700 euros in the past year, that insurance, which turns out to be unnecessary.

More than satisfied !! I have been coming here for a few years now and am extremely satisfied. Nice practice with the most advanced equipment! A crown placed within 1 day! Awesome

Good quality and very friendly stuff! I go there already for 4 years and super happy about this place. They are also super expat-friendly, all doctors speak english and always try to help you!

For years I ran with a crown that I did not like, until Maarten Vaartjes started working on it. Is now a few years ago and I am still very happy with it. It has been done so nicely. If you do not know, you will not see anything.
Since Maarten is my dentist, I am no longer afraid to go to the dentist. Dental hygienists are also top. In short, Dentist Jordaan is highly recommended!

Worst experience ever with dentist. First appointment made with Mr. Henriks. By appointment you will receive email and SMS that you must be on time, otherwise costs will be charged. But sticking to appointment times apparently does not apply to the dentist himself, because after 40 minutes of waiting, I just left. (The assistant could also have called me to say there was a big delay)
1 week later second appointment with female dentist. (Mrs.) I asked her if she could put a released molar on the implant frame. Then she told me it didn't work that way for her. She first wanted to get a total impression of my teeth, take pictures and see if there were any problems. A huge discussion ensued between my simple question that choose to place on the frame and her intense urge to follow a protocol. Finally after 15 minutes of talking we agreed that she would first place the molar and then do a general examination. A minute later she gives me the shocking message that she is unable to place the molar on the framework, while this is about the simplest procedure in dentistry. I only left when I saw that there was no longer a question of solving a dental problem, but more intense psychological confusion with Mrs. S, when 'the patient' did not do what she wanted. What a fantastic practice! It was necessary to place three crowns, top center front. However, if the existing crown were used as a starting point, the list would not give the best possible result. The old crown was therefore replaced by dentist Bakker free of charge. In my opinion, this far exceeds customer friendliness or involvement and is also due to passion for the profession.
The treatment was comforting, clear, pleasant and professional. The four crowns were adapted to my wishes by the dental technician before firing, again at no extra cost.
The result is a picture. Thank you all who contributed to this!

Top dental practice. Recommended! I am very satisfied! Great team, from receptionists to dental hygienists, assistants and highly skilled dentists with excellent service where the patient is central.
They think along with you, put you at ease, are also great with children and it is a practice where everything is under one roof. Fast and painless. I am very happy that I went here 4 years ago. I dare to smile again and many of my acquaintances and friends have been going to this dental practice with pleasure for years.
Tandartspraktijk Jordaan also has super service, even on Sundays and evenings until 10 pm! to be open!
They are exactly the average in North Holland in terms of prices. (Have requested several offers). Not cheap, but logical! Moreover, most prices are determined by the government, so no discussion.
If you go for quality, durability and service, then you are at the right place at Tandarts Jordaan.

Do not go there..if you love your teeth and your wallet..They don t care less if you complain, other dentist had to clean there mess for much less money. Be warned!

After years of delay due to my trauma - a craziness of a dentist in Milan, where I used to live, now an absolute TOP dental practice has been found. Professional, modern, super clean !, complex (all specialists incl. Master-dental technician under one roof) and very friendly, in short: Excellent service!
Because my parents were expats, I have been to many dentists in many countries - from Milan to Copenhagen, Madrid, Geneva, from New York to Ottawa. Dentist Maarten Vaartjes is the best dentist I have encountered so far. His assistant Patricia - the true Angel - is so caring and cordial! And believe me; I know what I'm saying. They take their profession very seriously and professionally, they always welcome you with a big smile, tell you what they are going to do and always put you at ease.
Both dentist Maarten Vaartjes and Tandarts Hendriks are very passionate about dentistry! Always looking for the latest techniques and they invest in the most modern equipment and training! Dentist Vaartjes is my regular dentist, but dentist Hendriks once assisted during a complicated placement of 6 implants in a session with me! Without anesthesia! Painless!! Incredibly skilled dentists and implantologists! Sleek, fast, confident! They still joke during the operation! . Just a pity that you can't chat with yourself ;-)
So 12 years ago I had a serious accident ... (2 weeks in a coma) My teeth, especially in the upper jaw, were partly lost and partly were no longer stuck ... Unfortunately, I (by the time in Italy) was involved in an (even bigger) accident a fake dentist ... Horror !! He then completely destroyed my teeth and thereby my chance for a good recovery and a return to normal life. For 10 years I lived in total social isolation ... And it really went the wrong way ...
Dentist Marten Vaartjes and his assistant Patricia have fully restored my teeth with great patience, care and heart, and have put a beautiful smile back on my face! I am extremely grateful to them and to the entire staff of the Dental Practice Jordaan! I'm a new person! I am ready .

A very important point is that there is also a very pleasant, healthy and friendly atmosphere between the staff. You can tell that. The psychological relationship between care institution and patient plays a crucial role in the smooth running of treatments and possible healing.
What I think is very nice and warm is that after more serious surgery (such as extraction of wisdom teeth or placing an implant) they call you home the next day !! to ask how it goes, how you feel? !! No other dentist does that, just mum! hahahaha! A very pleasant surprise! (well ... no more surprise for you with this one ;-)
The dental hygienists are all incredibly good, neat and friendly! (And also very handsome ). They give good tips.

P.s. And don't take those bad reviews seriously, though! It is so childish! It cannot be true at all. I mean: Come on !! Look at the relationship with all those overwhelmingly good responses from satisfied patients. A mistake can always happen, but every good specialist solves it quickly. That people want to damage someone's good name online! It is so low! But you don't have to be a language psychologist to see that there are 1 or 2 malicious people behind multiple fake accounts. There is fierce competition on the market ... Or perhaps they were angry candidates for new employees who were sent back to school, because the quality of Tandartspraktijk Jordaan was too high! It happens often, also in my company.

After several years of suffering from sever anxiety due to bad past experiences, it was a relief to find TandartsJordaan. All the staff, every single one of them have been amazing every single time. I strongly recommend, regardless if you are an expat or not, since everyone is treated the same, with love, care and patience. Thank you TandartsJordaan!

I have been a patient for more than a decade and appreciate the professional, efficient and friendly manner of all staff. Appointments generally run on time, and they keep pretty terrific hours of operation, including Sundays.

Very skilled dentist in a beautiful practice. They work with the latest equipment, you will always be helped quickly and friendly here. It is clear that there is a good atmosphere between the different employees.

Wouldn't recommend for a 'one time' visit obviously, as it already takes two visits to actually get something done.
You can't avoid this 'intake' checkup, even if you only come for something specific like a cleaning, which they won't even accept to do after the intake if you can't or don't want to do everything in their treatment plan...

They were my dentists for over a year. I had an emergency root canal treatment done (after a deep filling by them got to the nerve), and got some other fillings done as well. I got many x-rays taken, and even a cleaning session. They made a suggestion that I should get 3 crowns, extract 2 wisdom teeth, and possibly get another root canal treatment. All in all, it would cost me around 5000 euros. I told them I was a student, and that I couldn't afford it, but that I was traveling back to my home country where I could get those things done by a family friend for much much cheaper. So I asked them for my X-Rays. What was their response? "If we give you your X-Rays back, and you get these things done in your country, you will never be welcomed here again, and you will have to find a new dentist in Amsterdam". Wow. They couldn't care less about me as a patient/person. Also, what shortsightedness not to see that this was a very specific and expensive treatment, and that I would come back and continue to go to them for years to come (I live here). Anyways, they told me they don't want me back, so I clearly wouldn't want to go back to them. To me, it comes down to human decency; if I were a dentist, and a patient of mine simply could not afford my services at a very specific moment in time, I would be happy if he/she could solve his dental issues somewhere else, and I would be ready to treat him the first day after he/she came back. On the other hand, being rejected for life for not having the money to afford their services for a specific treatment seems like something out of a dystopian film to me. "No money for what we propose? Don't ever come back!". I wonder if they even realise what they did.

Fortunately, after an accident, I was able to immediately go to my own dentist on a Sunday. I have never had such a great dentist and can recommend everyone to come here. They are very skilled, but also sweet, especially if you are afraid of the dentist like me. They take their time and reassure you. So hereby a big Thank you!

Have been a patient here for years. Normally I always finish the checks pretty quickly, but today during lunch at work a bit of a bite is cut in half. I called Tandartsjordaan, and I could go immediately after work tonight. Treatment was painless and fast. They managed to save my tooth, which was really broken down.
