Fantastic place to stay. Accomodation, staff and food all excelkent

Absolutely stunning. Loads of room stunning surroundings. Lovely people. Food fantastic and the snorkling just of the beach is out of this world!! Perfect in every way!

The water activities were the best

Absolutely fabulous! Apparently the hotel is due an overhaul and some of the rooms are a little tired in places, but don't let that put you off. It's still a great hotel and the staff can't do enough for you.
The food and drinks are first class, especially the cocktails. We will certainly return one day.

Everything is really on top. The staff is caring for you and your stay is at its best. If I could I would go back very soon

Great hotel with all comfort. All the staff were very nice and accommodating, food was plentiful and tasty. It is a very clean facility, if something was wrong it was fixed immediately. The sports facilities were very good, designed for good and bad weather. We were here as a family and would definitely come back

Staff here go above and beyond. Always say hello and check everything's ok. Food is good and the beach restaurant is lovely. Will definitely come back here once we are both retired hopefully for a month. The spa is great. Had a massage...brilliant. Today I had reflexology...unbelievable...I am now walking with no aid. Booked again for next week before i return home. Excellent.

A fantastic place for a family stay. Pleasant ambience with kind staff. Food is extremely good and the restaurant was the best place to feel the hospitality. Chef Mahesh and his team make sure that guests enjoy the buffet. Chef Mahesh was going around talking to all the guests when they were eating. Mr.Seam was so kind and welcoming. Mr.Seam always asked us how our day was and he made sure that we were happy. All the staff in this resort were polite and courteous. Mr. Kevin and Mr. Kunal accomodated us with good hospitality. We highly recommend this resort to everyone.

Absolutely recommendable hotel. If you don't mind the secluded location, you will feel 100% comfortable here. The service, from the maid to the reception, is exemplary. Everything will be taken care of as soon as possible. The hotel has two oval pools surrounded by the guest houses and a large pool right in the middle between the reception, restaurant and bar. The beach is as usual in Mauritius, fine sandy but with pieces of coral in places, so bathing shoes are recommended here. The sea is best for snorkeling and swimming at high tide. At low tide the water level is actually too low, so there is a risk of touching the corals or the numerous sea urchins. The tide level is displayed at the water sports center in the hotel.

We have very little to complain about. But the constant signing of the zero invoices after EVERY order gets a bit annoying over time. Another solution would have to be found by the hotel. The service outside of the bars, i.e. on the beach or the two oval pools, is almost non-existent or overwhelmed. This should also be improved.

Nevertheless, it was a fantastic stay. We would come back anytime.

Indeed a serene and very clean environment, and the facilities were simply awesome. However, we were very disappointed with the poorly served buffet. The roasted chicken did not look very appealing and the fish curry was not tasty at all. The dessert was not up to the standard.

Very generously maintained facility, good, varied buffet. Beach especially at low tide problematic, allegedly sea urchins. But huge pool area.

Great hotel. Charming and welcoming staff. Nice choice of food which taste delicious. Rooms are great and perfectly clean everyday. The best thing is how great the staff is and how they do everything to please you. to Sabrina and all the waiters and waitress at the B Bar and to the nice guy playing nice music everyday during lunch. My kids love the place so much that they wont go to any other hotel.

I was at Tamassa with my family last week-end. The hotel is clean and splendid. The service was excellent!!! Mr Nishad, the divisional room manager was so caring and welcoming. The staff did everything they could to please us.The food was delicious! Chief Mahesh is awesome and so helpful, moreover, his burgers and cheese naan are amazing !!!!
Thanks to the animation team, namely Aurore, Hemant and Bruno who are doing a fabulous job, they knew exactly how to bring us to the dance floor and taught us new dance steps. Thanks to Edinho, the chief baker who makes excellent almond croissants the best I've eaten so far. Thanks to Sandiren for his delicious desserts

4 stars overall but 5 stars for the staff members as they are super helpful. The room we got was missing couple of stuff: interior decorations missing, no bathrobes and the minibar misses out on any nibbles.
How can you provide a minibar and not provide any biscuits/peanuts? This is one of the first hotel I've been to where they've cut cost this way.
Also the main restaurant 'Show' has no A/C so be mindful that you will be 'enjoying' your food while sweating on a hot day. There's fans but they don't help much.
Also, as most of the customers will be tourists, they have a very short supply of international power plug converters, recommend bringing your own.
All inclusive package is highly recommended as it's good value for money.

Large swimming pool, lots of outdoor activities, medium size rooms but very clean and again super helpful and nice staff members.

It takes a very long time from Japan, but it was a very good resort.
Many of the various activities are inclusive and it is easy to participate.
The beach is beautiful, but overall there are fewer fish species.
As with beach resorts, you can not borrow masks and fins. This is because the flow of the tide in the house reef is fast, so it is considered to be dangerous.

That Mauritius is beautiful! And this hotel will allow you to get the best out of it. Quality services, huge swimming pools, very refined restaurants and a discreet animation. The hotel is in the wildest part of Mauritius and therefore far from the hordes of tourists. The sea has been more preserved and it is an open air aquarium. Many activities included such as glass bottom boat, windsurfing, snorkeling, cycling, spa, ...

Although I have visited many five-star hotels in Mauritius, Tamassa remains the most beautiful and memorable one where I have ever spent my holidays!!!

Everything is good. Best hotels I have ever been in in terms of service and attention to their customer. Superb services. I have been there 4 times.

Tamassa hotel was one of the best resorts we have stayed in. Staff were very friendly and courteous.
Welcomed in with a few fresh juices, had someone from reception sit and explain to us all the restaurants, water activities, how to and all.

Then we were taken with a buggy to our room, the gentleman showed us around the room, and were given a t shirt for bot me any my wife from the hotel.

We stayed at a standard room facing the pool, amenities were ample, enough plug points, large bathroom and tub, separated luggage area, safe box.
Most of the water sports or act ties are free, but you would require to go earlier and pre book just incase.

The restaurant for breakfast was very open and spacious, food variety was good too, live cooking station for omlete, other restaurants were nice too, they have one where only semi formal dresses are allowed so a classy place.

Pool areas were very clean and views are just gorgeous. Enough beach chairs since they have 3 pools.
Swimming at the sea is enough to see a lot of fish while snorkeling, currents are a little high so would recommend to use fins.

A must see in the hotel is the wishing tree it was mesmerizing.

Hotel is a little bit out of the city but for a relaxing vacation It was perfect. Definitely recommended, everything from room service, staff, restaurant waiters all were very helpful.

If your in Mauritius with a rented car they have private parking space to park your car.

My fiance (now wife) read the TripAdvisor reviews before choosing Tamassa for our honeymoon and could only hope the reviews were going to prove accurate.
Little did we think our expectations would be excelled!
All the great reviews are accurate and any issues are purely out of the direct control of the hotel and staff.
I can wax lyrical about the gorgeous island that is Mauritius, but the stars of our honeymoon was the staff. Absolutely amazing!
I could name individuals but that wouldn't be fair on all the others behind the scenes which contributed to our overall treatment.
Our maid was just delightful and super helpful. Our regular waiter and waitress at the B Bar knew what we wanted before we did.
The resort is immaculate and well appointed. One thing I would definately definately recommend is upgrading to All Inclusive Premium (AIP).
It is really good value for money and the extras are well worth it: access to better wine at dinner, your laundry done for the whole stay, plus a 6 course lobster dinner that honestly beats anything I've ever tasted in the best UK restaurants. There's other additions but the fact that you don't have to worry if what you are ordering is on the All-Inclusive or AIP is great.
I would also highly recommend exploring the island on your own and not with private tour guides. The island isn't that big and we hired a car cheap as chips. Private tours were hellishly expensive and we wanted to do it at our own pace. Book via reception.
Mauritius is a surprising island which will both enchant and disappoint you (in a good way) so don't get your head stuck in your book by the pools all day everyday - see the place you've spent hours on a plane to get to.
Tamassa isn't the poshest or biggest or most modern or rammed full of rooms BUT that was what we loved about it.
The last words must go to the staff. Thank you for turning our honeymoon into to a once in a lifetime experience. You are all the stars of 'the show' and have our eternal thanks.
