We stayed a night at the Osprey Lodge and found it very nice. The room had a King sized bed, microwave, full sized coffee maker, mini fridge, and ceramic cooktop. Also pots and pans and dishes, wifi, sattelite tv, large jetted tub and separate shower. There was also a couch and hideabed. The room was $175 a night.
There was a concert last night in the grassy amphitheater attended by locals as well as guests at Tamarak. We plan to bring our short lawn chairs next time, but the picnic blanket we had worked fine.
We had dinner at the Seven Devils (very good burgers, salad, soups etc.). Trails to hike on, chair lift ride for scenic view, canoeing, and bike rental. Beautiful lake access. All the raw materials to have a really nice time away. We plan to come again and stay for a weekend. Also pet friendly.
Yes there is a section that was under construction and has not been worked on for a few years. My hope is that more people will come and discover this treasure in Idaho, allowing construction to resume. The unfinished section did not affect our enjoyment of the rest of the resort.
If you are looking for a nice, calm, mountain getaway, based on our experience, Tamarak is wonderful!

It's a beautiful place but it doesn't seem to be developed yet and is under budget and need some work if it were to open up again it looks like it would be amazing sounds like it's a hidden gem for fresh powder when the lifts are running people should check it out it's amazing don't expect a ton of amenities they do have an on mountain restaurant and a lot of development is happening currently one of the 3 lives had to be turned off due to bed management and repossession however the powder is amazing and it's a wonderful place to go I would strongly suggest riding at tamarack because it is fresh tracks all day if it snows if not the trees are great you're looking at 7200' elevation with almost 4000 vertical feet nice Black Diamond runs also highly suggest this place it's beautiful

Great place to snowboard! They had three lifts, the middle one was closed so only the beginner hill and the very top one was open. I loved both of them, the very top one was crazy good, if you're an adrenaline junkie then it's for you. I had to go easy up there because I'm not that good at snowboarding yet but I still loved it, it was very steep and full of turns, perfect for tricks and going super fast, I had to go slow for my level. The view is gorgeous up there, you can see the whole surrounding area, it was worth it.

Shhhhhh! This is one of the best kept secrets of Idaho. If you ski or snowboard, this is the place to be. Snow great, lines are non-existent, terrain parks are the best in the state. It is well worth the extra 2 hours round trip from Boise compared to Bogus Basin. You definitely *shouldn't* come her. Save the great slopes for the rest of us!

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, I understand businesses have had to make some adjustments in order to remain open while keeping patrons safe. As such I will be weighting my review with that in mind.

Activities:

It felt like my visit to Tamarack Resort came about 1-2 years too early. Construction had a large portion of the resort including two restaurants inaccessible, with only the coffee shop and grocery store open for business. There wasn't a lot going on and it was very empty of people, so we opted for exploring the surrounding towns and forest instead. (3/5)

The room:

We stayed in a room at the Lodge and walked in to dirty stained carpets in a poorly lit room. Not a good first impression.

I also got to experience some of the worst nights sleep I have endured. I have been more comfortable on a hide-a-bed couch. The mattress was rock hard with flat, worn-out pillows with zero head or neck support. I tossed and turned and woke up sore each morning. I have stayed at much cheaper locations and had a much higher level of comfort. It is not a good sign to dread going to bed each night because you know what you'll be sleeping on. This area could use extreme improvement. (1/5)

The food:
As the only area we could find open was the bar/grill attached to the main lobby this is the only area where I can fairly assess. We each had a drink, and a burger which were adequate, if a little unexciting for the price. Definitely worth it to drive into McCall to try 'My Father's Place' instead. The service was great however, and we left happy. (4/5)

The staff:

The staff was friendly, helpful and eager to assist with anything we needed. They also did the best they could with safety precautions for guests. (5/5)

McCall Idaho and the surrounding area are unbelievably gorgeous and worth exploring as much as possible. Get away from the resort, and go explore the Ponderosa State Park, go to Icecream Alley, or go hike around Brundage Mountain instead!

This resort was really cool, we were able to stay in a lodge for nine people that was inexpensive and we had some nice perks because of that. We were able to get hours of snowshoeing and cross country skiing, as well as access to steam rooms and hot tubs. Great resort for beginners and experts allike. I know I had a lot of fun and I definitely plan to go back with an even bigger group.

Great resort and great view of the lake from the top of the mountain. The construction of the main buildings at the resort is under construction and will be amazing once finished! Great food and service at the seven devils restaurant. I would recommend this resort as a place to vacation!

Wouldn't let us ski using a partner program with Bogus Basin. We were mislead about the terms of the ski tickets. Won't be coming back and will spread the word about the poor customer service we received. We were not able to get through their phone lines and when we arrived on site after a three hour drive we were essentially given a middle finger. Thanks Tamarack for ruining part of our holiday vacation.

A hidden gem! Absolutely stunning views and an awesome selection of places to stay. We stayed in a townhouse and it was so nice! Even had it's own hot tub! Will definitely be going back!

A 70 dollar day pass isnt worth it. They only have 2 lifts, bogus has more trails and is local broo. It's for sure a nice change tho, the trails are super unique and is great for skiers.(im a boarder). Stoked to come up here for the mountain biking in the summer tho

Loved it, Busted my bottom bracket doing a double back flip with a mig twist into a suicide cowboy. The MTB park is excellent. Lots of.
Tamarack please get real bike racks for uphill transportation and have the employees help load the bikes they were seriously lazy. They say they can't help company policy. Change that policy!

If you like to relax in an upscale resort with beautiful views, peace and quiet, great snow or hiking (depending on the time of year) with no crowds Tamarack is your place. I am writing this from the leather couch at the lodge completely relaxed. I love it here!

Best Christmas vacation ever! We rented a little cabin right on the mountain. The staff and ski school are amazing...Wolf is the best instructor if you are lucky to get him..he runs the school. He can and did work miracles for my whiney, clingy 4 year old!
Loved it! Kind of hope people don't start finding out how great it is..no lines, great snow, good food, awesome staff.

Tamarack resort is not only the closest accommodations to the mountain, it's also one of the best. We came with a party of six and the cabin more than accommodated is with room to spare. The skiers in our group were obviously thrilled as it was a short 2 minute drive to the lift. The non-skiers also enjoyed themselves with show shoeing, sight seeing, and visiting some local hot springs. I can't recommend the resort enough.

Sucks so bad. Dont come here. There's hardly anybody here (as evidenced by the nonexistent lift lines), the snow is too soft and deep, the chairs go too fast, the view is nothing but wide open forest and lakes, ...seriously, dont come here.

Only a few others were staying in this massive resort when we were there, granted it was a weekday. It was soo nice to have the 30 person hot tub to ourselves which outweighed downside of the Shinning-esque vibe.

The surrounding area and wild life is really neat. We saw owls up close on the resort grounds. Also saw some Osprey/hawks hunting for fish down by the lake.

The resort has gone through more than it's fair share of financial troubles. From my understanding it is now operated by the HOA of the surrounding houses. It still is pristinely upkept.

I only really felt their 'financial troubles' a few times. Most annoying-ly when I went down to the lobby to ask if they had a "loaner toothe brush" which I lamely joke when asking for a complimentary toothbrush. They said it costs $3 which in my experiences is unusual. Oh well, not a big deal.

They only have front-counter-person till 6pm. So if you arrive after that they'll put your room key in a lock box. My anti-sociall self didn't mind this.

Only other strike against them, so to speak, was I told them we slept in a bit because the bed was huuuge and soo comfortable, and asked if we could push the check out to 11:30. The maid actually knocked then opened the door at 10:50 then said sorry and retreated, which was actually kind of annoying.

The girlfriend looooved the bed. It came with plenty of pillows. Including a body pillow.

Overall it was quite a deal. I loved the resort. We rode our bikes around the grounds and got to do some awesome star-gazing. They had free loaner bikes which is a huuge plus in my book. We had brought our own so we didn't use them, but still really rad. The facility had a gym, showers, pool, kid pool, hot tub. Literally has everything.

The resort is great. Nice skiing and biking on the golf course. There's miles and miles of trails. Nice swimming pool and hot tub. Trisha the real estate lady is very friendly. The restaurant used to have great fish and chips but they changed the chips. Now they're litterally just potato chips. If I wanted that I could go to any store.
