Only a few others were staying in this massive resort when we were there, granted it was a weekday. It was soo nice to have the 30 person hot tub to ourselves which outweighed downside of the Shinning-esque vibe.

The surrounding area and wild life is really neat. We saw owls up close on the resort grounds. Also saw some Osprey/hawks hunting for fish down by the lake.

The resort has gone through more than it's fair share of financial troubles. From my understanding it is now operated by the HOA of the surrounding houses. It still is pristinely upkept.

I only really felt their 'financial troubles' a few times. Most annoying-ly when I went down to the lobby to ask if they had a "loaner toothe brush" which I lamely joke when asking for a complimentary toothbrush. They said it costs $3 which in my experiences is unusual. Oh well, not a big deal.

They only have front-counter-person till 6pm. So if you arrive after that they'll put your room key in a lock box. My anti-sociall self didn't mind this.

Only other strike against them, so to speak, was I told them we slept in a bit because the bed was huuuge and soo comfortable, and asked if we could push the check out to 11:30. The maid actually knocked then opened the door at 10:50 then said sorry and retreated, which was actually kind of annoying.

The girlfriend looooved the bed. It came with plenty of pillows. Including a body pillow.

Overall it was quite a deal. I loved the resort. We rode our bikes around the grounds and got to do some awesome star-gazing. They had free loaner bikes which is a huuge plus in my book. We had brought our own so we didn't use them, but still really rad. The facility had a gym, showers, pool, kid pool, hot tub. Literally has everything.
