I'm on the ski team here, so I'm here every weekend. I truly think that this place is worth your money. While you're here, you can also check out Brundage Resort, but you'll like Tamarack better.

The Lodge is Awesome! Very helpful and kind employees, a very nice and cozy look in the hotels, and the best of all, an extremely awesome ski resort! The location is just breath taking. skiing at tamarack is the best! Very good runs and a great amount of snow and smooth and soft powder! It is also a very good summer resort too. I went wake boarding there and had great time. Tamarack is your typical mountain all season resort. But there is truly something special about it.
The views are beautiful, the room looked great, but the futon was broken, the trash was overflowing, and there were lights burnt out in the bathrooms. Overall, it was an alright experience, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it.
This is a spectacular place to go and have a beer and just look at the scenery! I have not skied here but I hear it's really good. The lodge is beautiful.
Affordable ski resort with decent terrain. Tamarack should be improving in the future with new ownership. New lift next season and village under further development.
We went during the off season so there weren't many people there, but the staff was SUPER friendly and accommodating. The outdoor heated pool was great and theres a massive hot tub that holds like 15 people comfortably. We went rafting on the payette river with the tamarack resort guides (their first run of the season) and had an absolute blast with our 7 and 11 year old on the class 3 rapids. I can't really think of anything negative about the weekend that we stayed there.
Highly recommend this place! Coming from California going to all the crowed ski resorts in Tahoe, this is heavy for a chill weekend get away. Love the house we rented for the weekend had perfect two master suites, and the hot tub was the high light of the stay. We also booked the ski lift in the package which saved some money. What I like about this place is despite it supposed to be a small ski resort but there are some Pretty long slopes, and the fact that there is barely any wait to hop on the lift made it more pleasant to ski here. The view from the top was amazing too!
Another two points worth highlighting is how helpful and friendly all the staffs in the property were; the cafe menu was fairly priced compared to other places I have been to.
Front desk ensured an early check due to a wedding that started at 4, but room was not ready until 4. Front desk person did not take me seriously when asking questions. Room was nice, and hotel had fun amenities, but staff seemed annoyed when asked questions. Will not go again.
We came here 3 years ago and didnt have any problems with taking our dog on the chair lift to the top for a archery shoot. So this year we came prepared to do the same and they told us that she wasnt aloud to ride. So unfortunately we had to take turn dog sitting back at the camp ground. All in all it was good, just would have been good to know prior.
Great local ski resort. It's a shame they can't complete the unfinshed work from 2009. It's a bit of an eye sore. Regardless, it's worth it a day of skiing.
beautiful place with a breathtaking view, it is also preparing with a conjuntu of condominium buildings to receive hundreds of tourists with restaurants and shops to respond to the demand of the people, this will attract thousands and will be an important source of local employment... Beatifull
The front desk clerk wasn t very helpful. We had a wedding at 4pm and had called beforehand to ask if they could try and get us in early. They said they would try their hardest, but lacked in actually trying to get us in our rooms. I had to get ready in the woman s locker room and my boyfriend in men s. There s a sauna in there and it s next to the pool so the whole time we were sweaty. Front desk then said our room had been ready 15 min before and failed to call us. Never coming back again. Awful service.
Tamarack is awesome, the staff are always friendly and happy to see you, there is almost never lines for skiing, never lines for mountain biking, great snow, and great local beer.
We had our fall wedding at Tamarack Resort and we could not have been happier with the setting, the scenery, the service, and the accommodations. The fall colors were incredible and the views at Tamarack were absolutely stunning. Our guests enjoyed the biking and hiking trails available on site and we loved having everything and everyone in one place--including the hotel, the wedding venue, and all our guests' lodging. Having every aspect of our wedding available on site made the event much more festive and easier to coordinate. The Arling Center is a beautiful location for a wedding and our outdoor ceremony went off without a hitch thanks in part to Brad Larsen and his great staff. For an Idaho wedding you can't beat the reasonable prices, luxurious lodging options, and gorgeous location of Tamarack Resort.
If you can accept some of the quirks about Tamarack (locals know what I'm talking about) this is really a charming and beautiful place with a dedicated staff doing their best to keep things up.
I have been going up to Tamarack for years to recreate on the lake and for the mountain biking. I have never been to Tamarack for skiing until this year.
The snow this year has been amazing! The best part about Tamarack is we never have to wait in line to ski. The runs are in great shape. We ski until we are exhausted! Then, after a hard day of skiing, we can relax at 7 Devils pub for some good food and drinks. I was surprised at how much there is to offer at Tamarack. The Sports Dome has everything you need if you dont have your own equipment or if you need to have your equipment tuned up. I forgot my goggles and gloves on one trip and they had what I needed. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful.
I had no idea how great Tamarack is in the winter!
So much potential! During our 1 week stay we used the marina, frisbee golf, pickleball, and mountain bikes a ton. The marina equipment is up to date. The whole process of renting a boat was easy. When we returned the boat they filled the tank for us. They charged us the same rate we would have paid in town, not the typical $ 1-2/gallon extra for marina prices. The mountain biking was excellent. We used both the cross country trail system and the lift-served downhill trails. We rented a bike for one of my kids for downhill and the bike was in great condition. The only downside was the home we stayed in. It was showing its age. The floors were in bad shape. The kids loved having our own hot tub on the back porch. We will be back
We had our Man trip here and had a great time. Was a little spendy but between 8 people it wasn't too bad. The cabin was top of the line and we had a ton of fun in the 6 person hot tub and up on the hill. Thank you for a great time !!
Wonderful time spent on the mountain. Beautiful powder, friendly people, will definitely come back. Nice terrain, looking forward to the new Lyft coming this summer and the improvements. Very Exciting!
Tamarack is an awesome resort. Lift tickets are inexpensive but the resort has the potential to be a Sun Valley style resort. In a few years when buildings are complete and lifts are added to expand terrain, I would imagine that Tamarack will be a destination type resort demanding $100+ lift ticket prices.
Pros: Gorgeous destination for a wedding. Not too out of the way, and the scenery was beautiful. Lots of parking available close to the event.
Cons: The wedding was on a lawn in direct sunlight, really hot. The tables set up in the court were in the sun too and got in people's eyes. Once the shade moved as the sun went down, it was really great weather.
We had a wonderful stay and wedding at Tamarack Resort! The people are wonderful to work with and the lodging was perfect - very clean, beautiful, and just what we were looking for! They truly made our wedding a winter wonderland - highly recommend Tamarack Resort!!
We had a great time. It was early session which meant we had the mountain for ourselves. The staff in the resort was nice and attentive. Done of the shops and restaurants were closed but we didn't mind. This area is beautiful and peaceful. Well worth the drive.
Went for my 5yr anniversary. Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Front desk gets blamed by management for this disaster. No gas in the firepit, every trash can was full-(baby diapers in 79degree heat on our floor), pool has been closed for years, golf course is closed and overgrown, bar was closed, gym was closed, bbq doesnt work, coffee bags were open in the room, place was really dirty, and not enough towels (had to use a pillow case). There's nothing to do at night, but watch the 24in tv in the room.
They dont have any staff working there other than a front desk person during the day shift. (and shes only worked there for 6wks so she doesnt know much). She gave us the wrong hrs of operation for the ONLY restraunt in that area and we almost missed our opportunity to eat that night. Thank God there was a gas station in Donnelly. Place is a ghost town. I've stayed at better Super 8s. Donnellys town people told me they dont pay their employees and thats why the place looks abandoned..no one trusts them. Save your money.
*Updated 3 months later after realizing I posted this review for a Chipotle* My review is biased because I was here after 20" of new snow. Bailed on Bogus because of the line going up to Bogus. Very reasonable lift ticket prices, reasonable food prices, and fun terrain! Our longest line when we went was 4 people so we had to wait for an entire chair to go by, which we managed just fine. Will gladly go back!
